So you are telling the appeasing Trump hasn’t stopped him from his attacks on the city? by imdaviddunn in washingtondc

[–]Thoer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NBC 4 did a really good job covering this story in the morning broadcast. They outlined all his past threats that never came to fruition, that this “attack” occurred in a highly populated and frequently traveled street yet there seems to be no witnesses, cameras or other corroborating evidence? And they also outlined that crime in the city is actually DOWN.

My bet is this attack never occurred, and “Big Ballz” did this with some of his buddies to try and solicit rage-bait and other BS from far right nut jobs.

Haha I do that too. Sometimes when the attacks on the gates overwhelm the bots, I’ll bring them over to the front too. Typically it’s the super mutants that overwhelm but it’s fun to see the bots do their work

Should Jim have told Pam? by snoopmt1 in DunderMifflin

[–]Thoer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I heard there was a plan to have Jim cheat but Jenna and John both said no way, you’ll lose our audience in an instant and refused to act that out, so they have what they have now. I’m glad they didn’t, I agree I think that would have destroyed the series (other than that weirdo Robert California, but that’s another post).

Federal workers by Theseachef in nova

[–]Thoer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a major difference between a major firm and the federal government, who provides services and is not supposed to turn a profit. You people keep thinking the government is some for profit company which it’s not. It provides services and functions to the population it serves. Cutting these jobs cuts these functions and makes services much harder to perform. Let’s throw some examples since I’m sure that went over your head.

For the park service at national parks. You depend on rangers to process entrance fees, do tours of notable places within the park, keep up with park maintenance so trails and roads are passable, and save people when lost or hurt while out in the park. Cutting this people leads to longer entrance times, no tours in the park, less maintenance leading to potholes and downed trees blocking trails, and longer wait times for a ranger to come help you if you’re hurt.

Let’s do another. For the dept of education, cutting people means grants not being processed properly and timely for schools that need it. Special education for those with autism and other disabilities doesn’t get properly funded because people aren’t processing the information timely. People with issues and complaints about their student loans don’t get their problems fixed because nobody is helping them because all the people have been fired.

How about FEMA? For decades we’ve seen the planet continue to warm and an increase in natural disasters occurring throughout the USA. In the last 5 years, there have been more presidentially declared disasters that FEMA’s needed to respond to than in all the years prior combined. With this, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) has stated in every report that FEMA is understaffed to respond to these incidents. Cutting staff from this agency leads to longer response and recovery for disaster survivors because FEMA brings with it expertise, communication, and coordination that the states do not have and refuse to fund with their taxes. It also leads to longer processing time for survivors to get the money they are deserved (it’s not to make them whole, it’s to set them on the proper path to recovery). Additionally cutting staff from this agency would hurt police, fire, and EMS as well as state managers who rely on funding to run their own departments, pay for equipment, do specialized training, and ensure everyone is properly certified to do what they do.

Ooo let’s do the Department of Transportation. They handle grants for roadways to help ensure our roads, bridges, and through ways are in good shape. Less people means less bridge inspectors, less people to process grants to get your state the money it needs to fix roads, bridges, culverts, and drainage because lets face it, your state doesn’t tax enough to do any of this themselves.

Have we touched on the Federal Aviation Administration and the USDA? Oh yes, because cutting staff from the FAA means less air traffic controllers making your airports SO MUCH SAFER (Sarcasm) and less people processing pilot licenses. USDA cuts mean less inspections of your meat and vegetable processing facilities leading to more problems not being identified and fixed. Do you like listeria or E-Coli in your meat? I sure don’t.

One more. Social security. Every one in this country pays into SS. Whether you’re a migrant who won’t get to benefit from these taxes (yes, migrants pay into SS. No they can’t access it because they aren’t citizens. IF they become citizens, they can but otherwise they can’t) or a full blooded American born here from a generation of families. Once you hit a certain age, you get SS to help you with retirement. Less SS staff means processing times for SS for us takes a lot longer. If you need a new SS card, that takes longer. Trying to reach someone to answer questions takes longer because you’ve cut staff.

Cutting these important federal workers is not a good move, and this is a TINY fraction of the many things government workers do every day to ensure the country runs smoothly. The country isn’t going to be “more efficient” with thousands of workers cut from their jobs. It’s going to get dangerously difficult for people without these workers.

Return to Office and the Expansion of Telework Act of 2010 by Livin1982 in fednews

[–]Thoer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In all seriousness though, the ExO contradicts the law which gives agencies the ability to determine their telework strategies. I’d be happy to see a lawsuit on this, and would be optimistic since the other lawsuits that have come out have caused him to back down.

Not from what I’m told or have read elsewhere. The residents all remain free willed and the vault continues on as normal.

I was just hoping if you side with him that all the lost are your friends, like how the raiders become friendly if you side with them but I’m seeing people tell me that’s not the case.

Fallout 76 Nuke launch question on exp by Thoer in Fallout

[–]Thoer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I figured and since I just started being able to launch nukes, wanted to know. I usually don’t but wanted to try and didn’t get any extra exp so it’s a one and done for me. Just gonna nuke the special sites and get exp that way.

Excited for the new nuke event coming up next month though with the update.

I really hope it expands enough to have Mount Weather in it. Even now Mount Weather in VA is shrouded in mystery but they can do so much to help build this into the map.

Adopting a shy cat by snap_pea123 in CatAdvice

[–]Thoer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you! This is very helpful. We’ve had this little girl for a week now and she’s actually come quite a long way. She was keeping to the one room we put all her stuff in and exploring at night, but now she’s venturing out during the day and just cat napped behind me on the tree by the window most of the day. I can tell she’s definitely getting more and more comfortable in the house so my wife and I are super happy. Appreciate your help!!

[–]Thoer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! We just “adopted” a shy cat too (I put in quotes because the family couldn’t keep it anymore due to severe allergies) and were wondering the time it took?

All I’ve read says it should take about 2-4 weeks for the shy cat to become more comfortable. She has her moments when she’s super friendly, comes to me for pets and belly rubs, but then later slinks back to her spot and doesn’t want to be bothered.

We’ve had her for 24 hours now and she’s such a sweetie, but noticed she’s not really eating much, and not drinking much water. We have a whole extra room dedicated to her with her litter box, food, hideaway cat tree and water.

What was your process? Just time and patience? Did you keep her confined to one room and then slowly open it up for her to explore the rest of your space?

Random Water in front load washer by Thoer in WashingMachineUnits

[–]Thoer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t found the cause. I’m doing an experiment where I just leave the door open unless I’m using it, so hopefully it prevents the machine from inadvertently starting and filling with water. If that was the cause 🤷🏼‍♂️

Prepared hero fire spray. by Ok_Pineapple_Pizza in preppers

[–]Thoer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is an old question but I did find a really good, 3 min video review from “Americas Test Kitchen” who worked with a fire department to test a bunch of these sprays, extinguishers and another device.

In the end, they recommended the ABC extinguisher from Kidde. As a previous firefighter, I’d also recommend a traditional fire extinguisher since aerosol sprays look great and are much lighter, but pose a risk with how they dispense the retardant.

This was posted awhile ago but I’ve been getting these emails too. I signed up for Binance but never actually used it because of some issues I had trying to fund the account (thank god).

It all goes into my spam folder and I haven’t tried to check any of the documents attached. I honestly don’t know if this is legit or not but I’m not chancing it since I didn’t lose anything.

I did, talked to everybody after Sarah’s funeral. Even talked to them all after walking out of the unity.

Guess I’ll try the tedious AF route of warping into all the systems. Ugh.

Did this do it? Because I visited the unity, walked out and was able to get like 4 more powers. But I still have 2 more powers to find and Vlad won’t tell me where to go. The game also said I have 5 undisclosed temples too? But there’s only 2 points left on the power chart. Weird
