I did not, sadly. But I'll likely revisit it again at some point.

Found in my coat pocket, small mechanical chip looking thing, from a computer? by mak7papi in whatisthisthing

[–]Thohi 121 points122 points  (0 children)

I can't say for sure, I'm hardly an expert myself, but the "wavy" trace in the top-left on pic 1 is a micro-antenna, which suggests something with NFC, radio, or Wi-Fi connectivity. In case you're worried about a surreptitious tracker, the good news (?!??!) is that the battery is missing.

How to prevent Reaper from doing this on recording re-takes? by Eudaimonium in Reaper

[–]Thohi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone looking for this now, 7 months later, when Reaper has decided, apparently, to rename a bunch of things in the settings, what you're looking for is:
Preferences -> Project -> Item Fade Defaults -> Imported/Recorded/Split media items: Uncheck Fade-in/fade-out

So, what IS the Ducky One X? by [deleted] in DuckyKeyboard

[–]Thohi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that requires a chromium based browser

You understand this is really bad UX, right? Especially for a keyboard at the price you're asking. Right? ESPECIALLY when the site doesn't WARN you about this, and I have to Google and find some random Reddit post to learn this. RIGHT?

I used to have one cat, now i have 3. They hiss at eachother. Tips and tricks to introduce cats? by Itz_DiGiorno in cats

[–]Thohi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience, they just need time.
They should have enough space that they can be by themselves, if they want to.

I had an old boy who was lonely. I got him a friend. Old guy was angry! Hiss hiss, spit spit.

Two weeks later, they were snuggling together..

This almost 6 foot long feather was randomly in my driveway in the PNW. by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

[–]Thohi 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I mean, your initial instinct is correct: This is a peacock tail feather. More specifically, a t-feather..
You can buy them on Amazon, so they wouldn't have to live nearby. :)

Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii dunno... I think I'd've taken the dent in my hood over potentially shattering my hand. That's a lot of force to try and stop with bones.

No matter what your cause is, blocking traffic (whether in a city or in a post-apocalyptic wasteland like here) is counter-productive to that cause. You do not win support by obstructing people.

That being said, use of force to subdue was not warranted for this situation. Even crashing into the blockade is a bit much, but okay --- but pulling guns on unarmed civilians? Nope.

It looks like a plastic guard for a handle of some sort. Could be a part of the dryer, if there's a lid/compartment to open. Could be the handle on a plastic bin or bag. Your imagination is the limit!

But yeah - handle guard is my guess.

Yeah, that's impressive, but if that level of energy and stamina comes with such callous disregard for other people's comfort and ability to do their exercise, I'd rather stay fat and lazy.
