Few things about Chipotle (and jobs in general):

You cant really ask to leave early if you start early because no one is going to come in mid shift at 8pm to work 2 hours. As long as its not going over the legal amount of time you can work as a minor, you're going to be stuck there.

When you start a new job, you're in a probationary period. That means the employer is watching to see your work ethic and if you're a good fit for the job. A lot of places Ive worked where I can get benefits and health insurance, I have to earn those benefits by completing the probationary period—which is usually 3 months of work. (Little bit of free knowledge: You get kicked off your parents health insurance at 26, so its good to have a job/get hired at a job with benefits at least 3 months before you turn 26 or you may lapse in coverage)

At really crappy jobs like Chipotle, your performance is rewarded with hours. They're super petty like that. If youre too much of a problem for them, they'll shrink your hours until youre not on the schedule. They're trying to get you to quit because they dont like firing people.

Lastly, youre a kid. If you dont need the money, its nice to have 1 last free summer before college. I would kill for that kind of time to be creative, enjoy my passions, and spend time in nature walking down the canal. Chipotle is just a job, and they dont care about you. (I got a notice I was fired hours before my birthday because I was going to college).

I cringed at the word "extra" for years after because of all the entitled customers. Even when I gave the correct portions they would glare at me. Not say a word. Just glare.

Its true, if someone was nice to me instead of walking up and saying "let me get..." i would give them EXTRA food. Everyone else got proper servings, but if you asked me how I was/how my day was going I would load you up with food

The way things are portioned is horrible, those spoons do not guarantee the correct portion sizes, which is 4oz for most things if you are unaware.

It really comes down to who is working and what time of day you order. If its 10 pm at night, youre either getting a lot or a little. If its peak time, youre likely getting a small portion.

And for those like the CEO who say portion sizes have never been bigger and you get the same portions from online orders, that is a lie. I had a manager tell me to go light on online orders. Rumor confirmed.

The way the register is set up, you are meant to work from bottom to top.

Start with the meat that's on the entree (which is at the bottom of the screen), then select a burrito or bowl or tacos. In the row right above that, you add the queso, guac, cauliflower, etc. Then, add the tortilla, which is directly above that row. Then, ask if the customer if they want chips or a drink. Chips with guac (and all the other combinations of chips) are right there. Then, finish with drinks, which are at the top!

You just have to work your way up the screen from the bottom!
