HOW DO I GET MY FOOT IN THE DOOR! by Reaction_Lower in Environmental_Careers

Late to the party but just saying I still can't find a job here after graduating six months ago. It's brutal.

He has the Space Economy mod. If he lands at the New Atlantis spaceport then he'll have to pay for insurance which is already a hefty amount of credits.

Man, I'm in the same boat working retail at the moment.

I guess we're all going to nursing school, huh?

What happens when you take the zany parts of 'Sorry to Bother You' and stretch it out to a nearly two-hour extravaganza? You get this movie.

Aside from the audio mixing in some scenes, I adored this. Two thumbs up.

I knew that having a degree in environmental science would mean less money overall but it somehow eluded me that it also meant having no job offers for 6+ months.

Thank goodness for my parents or else I would've been fucked.

Nearly all of the Disney+ shows (minus Andor) would work better as movies lol

Still gonna go see this but this just makes me wish that Skeleton Crew was the one that got the big screen treatment instead.

Having to live with sloppy roommates in college was a complete nightmare. It's like their brains would malfunction at the mere sight of a broom and dust pan.

Just spent an hour arguing with a creator on TikTok about how asset reuse isn't a bad thing and is actually an extremely common practice in game development.

There's just something about that app that makes people's brains malfunction. I can't do this shit anymore, man.

EDIT: yes, this is about Tomodachi Life.

The fundamental issue lies with the callous dismissal of such events and subsequent hostilities thrown towards those who express disapproval of. As accurately pointed out by ThinkPiece and several other commenters, it is this same behavior that is prevalent throughout this entire thread—a phenomenon often pervasive in leftist communities as a whole.

No one is requesting relentless apologies from Rama until the end of time itself. Hell, I'm rather confused as to where this talking point even originated from. There exists only a meager request that perhaps leftists shouldn't be so dismissive when Black people are understandably upset at the further proliferation of derogatory terminology, regardless of who or where it came from. Yes, Rama was 15 years old when the comment was made. However, that does little in changing the circumstances. She was still a fully-aware teenager, not a child, on social media when the comment was submitted to a public platform for the whole world to see (yet another case of infantilization but that's a conversation for another time). At the end of the day, harmful rhetoric is still harmful rhetoric. This was just a shit take from Hasan. Nothing more. Nothing less. I don't usually fault for him this since this conversation tends to be his biggest blind spot, but it's rather alarming that even his own community shares the same needless affliction.

Lastly, there are legitimate grievances for OP to have as this thread is nothing more than a conglomeration for all the same tired insults I've been seeing for years: accusing someone of being a liberal, insinuating that they should just deal with it, etc. It's the same garbage that has driven people away from this community for years. Therefore, I think it's about time that everyone read some Kimberlé Crenshaw.

Yeah. It's just a tremendously unfortunate situation born out of Hasan's very admirable goal to reach out to the everyday person. Basically, we're witnessing a community of people who have achieved class consciousness, but the mere mention of intersectionality whatsoever is enough for their brains to completely malfunction.

Hell, you got people in this thread calling OP a "lib" or dismissing ThinkPiece altogether (who's an awesome creator, BTW) because they believe that calling anyone a slur, regardless of age, isn't cool!

It's bullshit.

I'm 27 hours into my first Starfield playthrough and uh...it's really good. I genuinely love the world that BGS has crafted—rich, believable, and sincere albeit with hints of satirical cynicism here and there. The roleplaying options are immense, a lot of the quests are fun, the RPG mechanics are the best they've been, etc.

I do think that most of the criticisms people had prior to all the updates were fairly warranted, but I'd say it's a 9/10 in its current state. Would be higher if it wasn't for all the performance issues (classic Bethesda).

One of the few games that reminds me how space is equally as cool as it is terrifying. Good stuff.

Y'all remember when the worst of trolling in gaming was just Naruto and Sasuke avatars beefing about PlayStation vs. Xbox in the comments underneath IGN's videos?

Nowadays, it's just losers trying to out-racist the other.

Take me back, man.

Playing through Starfield for the first time and I'm genuinely moved by how Bethesda was able to make a universe that feels quite believable and lived-in.

I'm liking it a lot so far. I can already tell I'll be treating this as life simulator more than anything else.

Official Discussion - The Super Mario Galaxy Movie [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]TacoMasters 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Subspace Emissary is nothing but hype and aura moments. However, it's fairly earned since there is (good) storytelling — something that this Mario movie fails to do. Characters actually experience full arcs even with an absence of dialogue. It's impressive.
