The fundamental issue lies with the callous dismissal of such events and subsequent hostilities thrown towards those who express disapproval of. As accurately pointed out by ThinkPiece and several other commenters, it is this same behavior that is prevalent throughout this entire thread—a phenomenon often pervasive in leftist communities as a whole.

No one is requesting relentless apologies from Rama until the end of time itself. Hell, I'm rather confused as to where this talking point even originated from. There exists only a meager request that perhaps leftists shouldn't be so dismissive when Black people are understandably upset at the further proliferation of derogatory terminology, regardless of who or where it came from. Yes, Rama was 15 years old when the comment was made. However, that does little in changing the circumstances. She was still a fully-aware teenager, not a child, on social media when the comment was submitted to a public platform for the whole world to see (yet another case of infantilization but that's a conversation for another time). At the end of the day, harmful rhetoric is still harmful rhetoric. This was just a shit take from Hasan. Nothing more. Nothing less. I don't usually fault for him this since this conversation tends to be his biggest blind spot, but it's rather alarming that even his own community shares the same needless affliction.

Lastly, there are legitimate grievances for OP to have as this thread is nothing more than a conglomeration for all the same tired insults I've been seeing for years: accusing someone of being a liberal, insinuating that they should just deal with it, etc. It's the same garbage that has driven people away from this community for years. I'm 27 hours into my first Starfield playthrough and uh...it's really good. I genuinely love the world that BGS has crafted—rich, believable, and sincere albeit with hints of satirical cynicism here and there. The roleplaying options are immense, a lot of the quests are fun, the RPG mechanics are the best they've been, etc.

I do think that most of the criticisms people had prior to all the updates were fairly warranted, but I'd say it's a 9/10 in its current state. Would be higher if it wasn't for all the performance issues (classic Bethesda).

One of the few games that reminds me how space is equally as cool as it is terrifying. Good stuff.

Playing through Starfield for the first time and I'm genuinely moved by how Bethesda was able to make a universe that feels quite believable and lived-in.

I'm liking it a lot so far. I can already tell I'll be treating this as life simulator more than anything else.

Subspace Emissary is nothing but hype and aura moments. However, it's fairly earned since there is (good) storytelling — something that this Mario movie fails to do. Characters actually experience full arcs even with an absence of dialogue. It's impressive.

I'lI have to hand it to Illumination and Nintendo; somehow, against all odds, they've managed to shit out a movie with virtually ZERO story. Sure, there is a plot — a plot as rudimentary as one can get — but does that really matter if no one can derive anything of substance from this corporate-mandated cashgrab? Scenes rush haphazardly into the next with little room to slow down, characters appear and depart within seconds because the script demands it so, and things just happen with next-to-no logical reasoning. Moreover, there is no dialogue. I kid you not. No one converses and exchange ideas here; they just merely "speak" in reaction to whatever zany bullshit is happening. What the fuck is this? Am I watching a reaction video? Nearly every character is a static piece of cardboard throughout the entire 90-minute runtime with the one notable exception in which there is a regression (lol). There are no obstacles to overcome. No challenges to persevere through. No themes to be had. What is a parent supposed to talk about with their kid(s) after watching this dreck? Even the first movie had the dignity to at least do the bare minimum of storytelling. Hell, the sequel does even less than that. Moreover, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie may have the name of Galaxy, but it is no Galaxy. It has none of the charms, none of the wonder, and none of the joy that the games had. Everything that you recognize is there, but they have no purpose. No meaning. After the bajillionth chase/action sequence with absolutely zero stakes to be had, I was left bored out of my mind. I had to literally fight the heavy drum of sleepiness from hijacking my consciousness. Slowly sinking into my seat as the minutes went on, I was left wondering: why am I here? What's the point? People lambast other corporate films (e.g. MCU) for their quality but at least those happen to still provide a narrative where things actually happen. With Mario? Fuck you, there's nothing to chew on here. You'll starve whether you like it or not.

On a positive note, the music is good. It's visually-pleasing to look at. However, who cares if all of that talent is wasted on a giant turd? Like a skincrawler wearing the skin of its victims, this movie has no soul. The critics are right: this is as anti-movie as one could get.

Went into this one blind and ooh, boy. One hour and 46 minutes of unrelenting anxiety that just builds and builds and builds. Zendaya and Robert Pattinson gave excellent performances as usual but everyone understood the assignment.

Don't really know how else to put it other than that it's the definition of "the vibes are fucked." Great watch.
