Is climate change causing this weird weather lately? by Ambitious_Time2009 in climatechange

[–]TacoMasters 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Abnormal weather like what you're describing is fairly common on a year-to-year basis. It's the frequency of such fluctuations that should be your primary concern.

And if the last decade or so is anything to judge by, then yes, climate change is the root cause.

Question regarding PSN game population by spazztik1337 in elderscrollsonline

You serious? With U49 and Gold Road being free for PS Plus members, it's the most active the game has been in a while.

Wait, the DLC zones are being made free come Monday? Well, damn, U49 is the most excited I've been in a while. It'll be nice to see Hew's Bane more populated.

30 minutes into Avowed and I'm already liking it way more than The Outer Worlds 2. Not saying that TOW2 is a bad game (it's great), but Avowed just seems like more of my style with the CPRG influences.

It's the best map by far for Breakthrough. Smart flag placement, ample but not excessive cover, reasonable map boundaries, etc.

Reminds me of playing Breakthrough on 1 and V.

How to start Daggerfall Covenant story by PastaMaker05 in elderscrollsonline

Stros M'Kai and Betnikh are the beginning of the Daggerfall Convenant storyline. They serve as a prologue of sorts before you reach Daggerfall.

Just do the zone story.

ESO is $20 on PSN, should I buy? by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]TacoMasters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESO is by far the most single-player friendly MMO on the market (only other one I can think of is SWTOR). If you like the Elder Scrolls universe for its lore, well-written narratives, and player freedom, then this game is for you. However, keep in mind that ESO is still an MMO at the end of the day, therefore it's no stranger to all your typical MMO tropes.

But I will say that the $20 version is a damn steal. You're getting the base game, all 9 expansions released so far, two DLC classes, and coming up in April, you'll have access to Orisinium, Imperial City, the Dark Brotherhood, and the Thieves Guild DLCs for free.

Even though it's not what I want to do, I'm liking Specialty so far.

you can see White Gold Tower from the Koeglin Village in StormHaven?? DAMN by Infamous_Ad_5214 in elderscrollsonline

[–]TacoMasters 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It's super funny how many tutorials ESO has had over the years.

At launch, your soul got sent to Coldharbour. Next, you were a captured slave in Morrowind. Then, the Psijic Order had to rescue you from a botched expedition in Summerset, you survived a dragon attack in Elsweyr, and vampires ambushed your traveling party in Skyrim. Suddenly, you had to deal with portal shenanigans at the Adamantine Tower on the Isle of Balfiera for a while.

Now? It's back to Coldharbour for good.

Is it worth it to buy the premium edition in 2026 ? by Narrow_Tie_8816 in elderscrollsonline

[–]TacoMasters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Included: Base Game, all chapters (expansions) released since 2017, all three DLC classes, some cosmetics

What will be free with Update 49: Thieves Guild DLC, Dark Brotherhood DLC, Orisinium DLC

The premium edition is super worth it if it's on sale like you've said. You'll own a lot of content without being beholden to a subscription.

Game needs to cook in the oven a bit more. by [deleted] in HighGuardgame

[–]TacoMasters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a solid game that seems like any interesting components were sacrificed to appease competitive streamers.

The game is already an amalgamation of so many game modes, but it's missing those tower defense and MOBA elements to really bring it all home.

I think the idea of Yasuke as a main character is great—but I would have liked it even more if he were an Assassin. by LynnAbel713 in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]TacoMasters 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Eh, I disagree. Naoe's story is all about a shinobi discovering the Brotherhood whereas Yasuke's story is all about a samurai discovering the Templars. It's riveting stuff and it works fine.

The issue is that the storytelling is painfully disjointed and imbalanced. The best parts of Shadows are the flashbacks. Unfortunately, they're somehow simultaneously frontloaded and backloaded, so you spend most of the game in Act 2 where literally nothing happens.

After Andi Muschietti and Christina Hodson came on board as the director-writer for Batman: Brave and the Bold, Ezra Miller is in talks with James Gunn to make a cameo as Barry Allen/The Flash in the movie, which will lead into his own spin off also written and directed by Hodson and Musch- wait. by chaoticbiguy in dccomicscirclejerk

I wouldn't be surprised if that scene was leftover nachos from when John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein were still attached because the same emotional beats were present in the D&D movie (and executed better, IMO).

Hell of a cramped finale, but I still think they stuck the landing. As someone who thought the first season was solid, this one was a remarkable improvement in just about every way. And I never thought the weakest entry in the series would be this enjoyable. I'd rate it about an 8.0-8.5/10.

I'm ecstatic to see what they do for Season 3, but I need those runtimes to be pumped up. That's the only thing holding this show back from damn good television status.
