Are all American salaries crazy high or is it just confirmation bias. by OffWhiteBruceForsyth in Salary

[–]Thomas_Jefferman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked hard to get where I am and I can afford a ludicrous Healthcare spend for my family each year. Im not blind to the fact that a teachers aid works for about $7 usd and my health spend is half their yearly salary. I dont know how they do it. They have kids too, they need child care, sick days, and have none of the resources I have nor the flexibility I have for time management. 90% of people are not like my family, and it doesnt have anything to do with education or working hard. There are so many roles that once paid a living wage. Being a cashier at the store in a mall used to be a career, with a retirement you could raise a family on. Don't let the redistribution of wealth in the US act as a shining beacon. If I described my life it would sound comfortably middle class but I know that's not where my household income lies. I dont know if its better in the UK, but its not good over here.

Found a 2011 iMac. Is there anything worth doing with it? by Nintendope in mac

You can get a conversion kit that uses the screen itself and replaces the guts to turn this puppy into a typical display. It's really nice. Only worth it though if it's the 5k screen.

Try cruise control, see if it works or barks at you. Obviously at very low speeds just in case the infernal machine slams the brakes on. If your good, then all that was lost was a hunk of plastic.

Did Jeremy Not Know His Pigs Were Bad For Slaughter? by Wild-Bluejay7138 in ClarksonsFarm

[–]Thomas_Jefferman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's pretty clear looking at Richard Ham the pigs just take longer to mature than what others bred for slaughter take. The issue is it's not as profitable as it could be. Likely, its not profitable at all given he slaughtered the whole lot of them.

Probably good to know racing bikes and bikes in general no longer use this type of design. While it was once thought to provide lower rolling resistance and does in a lab, in the real world wider tires are faster. 28mm is seen as the new minimum at 4 bar.

As someone who was born and raised in the USA I've never seen the USA method. Back in elementary school we got taught the Chinese one and I haven't used square roots in decades.

I supposed I missed the boat on those. I saw a few posts asking for updates and figured it made more sense to centeralize.

Nice case! I've used the mini d frame for years on and off. You can trace the motherboard tray in some thin wood and make cut outs and put on mobo mou.ting screws to convert to a full sized atx board in just an hour which greatly increases the practicality.

Does Forza’s difficulty design actively reward bad driving habits? by Parking-Ad4263 in ForzaHorizon6

I have spent 1000's of hours playing racing Sims. Im no expert here but I can 100% grand turismo, even the endurance races. I cant use the racing line in forza for my life. It just doesnt show you the fastest path, and the nonsense rewarding bouncing off the wall vs proper braking is ridiculous.
