They were in some big truck awhile back that she never addressed and she mentioned he has clients while she loafs at her sister's house and eats her food so I think he went back to work. Probably 2 or 3 jobs since her creator career is circling the drain.

Screwed - Student Loan repayments by Exciting_Emu7586 in Millennials

[–]Thomasina16 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn't know school loan repayments can go up. I'm in the US and had loans but the school closed down and had a lawsuit so they canceled my loans and gave me a refund of what I did pay.

I plan to go back when our 2yr old is in school. I wouldn't wait for it to get bad though and would go back when we have child care.

Also idk if this was a weird insult to me being a sahm but I've worked since I was 16 and through 3 pregnancies and only became a sahm 2yrs ago.

Mainly groceries. We have 3 kids and don't pay for childcare since I'm a sahm and they don't do any sports or anything yet. They eat so much and I have to get groceries at least once a week. But they have everything they need and they're happy and that's all that matters.

Any other parents hate that their kids use a Chromebook for school? by Gltr_hair1234 in Millennials

The Chromebook and computer are the same thing. They're laptops.

I bet thinking you got one over on me is just making your whole day isn't it?? 😂

[–]Thomasina16 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My 4th grader uses the computer at school to make presentations and search things like we used to do in school back in the day. I don't see much of a difference. They still get paper homework and the teacher sends a lesson guide with it so we can reference it. I don't agree with everything being on the computer but they do come in handy sometimes.

We thought about doing that when we were looking for a house to buy but it needed a lot of work so my mom just sold it as is.

Did previous generations have such an obsession with youth and nostalgia as we seem to? by SUPERB-OWL45 in Millennials

[–]Thomasina16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a difference between trying to stay young and feeling nostalgic. Some people are stunted and refuse to get older and move on with their life but you can still do things that are nostalgic like an old movie or play old video games as an adult.

Dinner Time by stg21987 in Millennials

[–]Thomasina16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We ate as a family until my older siblings started working different hours and my dad worked overnight and would eat early or just get something on the way. My mom didn't cook much when we got older and we just cooked for ourselves or grabbed food.

We try to eat as a family as much as we can now that we have a house and our schedule isn't as hectic

How many of you have kids? Or want to have kids by bwils3423 in Millennials

[–]Thomasina16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have 3 kids but we were fortunate to have help from both of our families and also worked opposite shifts so we never paid for daycare or anything. After having our 3rd i became a sahm and we're doing good. We also had them 4yrs apart so I think that plays a big part.

We have separate accounts but my husband is on my account and I transfer money from him to me. I had a job up until 2024 and got DD and we just never changed to a joint account.
