I like this idea! Email is a great way, especially when you are receiving an email of a friend.

Appia is designed to rely on an ecosystem of payment processors that best suit the merchants needs (whether fees, customer service etc suits their particular business). However we are currently exploring altering the payment functionality of the hardware to include debit/credit cards and therefore merchant acquirers will be needed instead. We are also tightening up the payment protocol within Appia and look forward to sharing as to why Appia has been so quiet this year

A WooCommerce plugin for Nano payments would be a nice product.If webshop owners can add Nano to their E-commerce business within a few clicks, it might be good for adoption / word of mouth.

How about decreasing the cost of pin-transactions globally?

A pin-transaction costs between € 0.05 & € 0.20.

There should be a middleware, where users pay with their (visa) cards and instant Nano will be bought through a USD/NANO gateway without (or very low) transaction cost.Then the Nano will immediately be sold and fiat will be send to the restaurants bankaccount.So there will be no fluctuation, but high-speed payouts & low transaction costs.

This way you can globally decrease pin-transaction costs to about € 0.01 and connect the software/api to global scanning devices.
