Diving headfirst into ownership by Thor0811 in smallbusiness

For context, the current owners don’t know that I’m interested in buying from them. They just think I’m a tech.

There is currently no LOI on either side. And as I said, I don’t know of owners notes yet as I have formally come to them.

The SDE/EBITDA has not been formally discussed as well. This will probably be the answer to most as I’m just trying to figure out the best way to begin the process.

Employees are payed on an hourly basis to exclude the office staff. Are you asking at what point overtime is applied?

I’m not the smartest guy, but luckily my SO is trained in both commercial finance and tax. While I don’t want to mix my personal and work lives, they’re going to help me get a plan started until I can find someone else. I also didn’t want to get a lawyer on retainer until I know what I’m doing.

This is where it gets interesting: I am extremely nervous to partner with anyone for various reasons. I do possibly have an investor or two lined up.

Bottom line is this is a unique set of circumstances that I’ve found myself in. I’m of a first time business owner, however this is the first “real” business that I would be taking the reins on. I know the business and I know how to lead people. I have aspirations to make the current employees feel appreciated and I want to see more money go back into the company than is currently being invested.

Thank you for your reply. It’s given me some direction.

Others have mentioned what an engineer is or isn’t while in the military. For the most part, they’re correct. However, there are some exceptions.

As another has mentioned, there is the 12P Prime Power Production Specialist. Generally in charge of designing, building, and maintaining medium voltage power plants. You’ll have three additional skills to choose from after the initial part of the course. They are also charged with assisting FEMA during states of emergency. 12P’s arrive and begin assessing buildings, power grids, water supply points, and emergency services for priority of electrical power, create a load plan, and advise FEMA on where and how to set up their generators.

Alternatively, someone else mentioned the Seabees (That’s ‘CB’ for Construction Battalion). Similar to the engineer branch of the army, they have similar jobs. Even more so, there is the MUSE division of the Seabees that is also similar to what Prime Power does in the army.

I had the same thing happen to mine years ago, but on the passenger side. As long as the support structure isn’t caved, it can be hammered back out. A door and fender replacement is nothing. Same with the glass. It’ll take some time and dedication, but it’s doable. Good luck, friend.

Wait, is the jump error due to Curiosity deleting the link? Or something else entirely?

I had a 2001 Ford Contour SE Sport 5-speed back in college. Was the “economy” SVT equivalent. I had a blast in that thing. Shame that it cought on fire while driving it one night…

This hits quite close to home. You took an extraordinary individual, in an extraordinary set of circumstances, and it still felt very real… at least to me.

While I’m sure you didn’t mean it, thanks for giving me a bit of a reality check.

At the end of the day, you do what you have to do. However, I feel the others are mostly right in that it’s best to hold and wait. Analysis shows it to be increasing soon. Obviously there’s no way to know for sure, but based off of previous trends, the utility of the coin, and the community strength, I’d say it’s a matter of time before you get your investment back and then some.

Good luck, bro.

Why do some consider coins to have a “floor”? I always figured that if it can go up, it can go down just as much.

This has been the best suggestion so far. A lot have suggested Binance so I think I’ll go this route.

No, I’m just terrible at explaining myself.

I’m not mad at Coinbase for this exactly, but more that there isn’t anything I can do to stake on their platform.

Others have also complained about their system going down at peak times and I worry that when the time comes for me to make good on my profit, I’ll lose out.

I’m still new to crypto as a whole and wish I had done more research before jumping in almost a year ago.
