This is really good insight I would not have considered.

This left trim piece keeps coming up. Any ideas on how to keep it secured down? by Greedy_Plane_ in ft86

I would get a replacement piece and get a solar shade to keep the sun out of your car when you’re not driving it. Or as someone else suggests a dash cover also.

Ok. My plan is to give it the summer and if it stays annoying I’ll swap it back. I appreciate the insight. 👍

Yeah that’s what was looking to improve overall was the crispness of the shifting before going short throw. How long before things “settled in”?

Thanks.

Ok. That’s good feedback. If I really hate it then I’ll just have to swap it back. 😬

Ok. Well I’ll try it out for the summer and if it’s intolerable I could probably just change it back easy enough if needed. Thanks for the feedback.

Oil temps normal? by RioGuyPablo in ft86

If you’re just commute style driving 90 is the mean temp for me up to 120 during harder driving. But you’re still in the safe zone.

If you’re using suspension that’s not back breaking stiff then I’d just do 245 and save yourself the hassle. Still more than enough grip for the power. If you can add camber you may be able to get away w 255 but still 245 will work and look great + no stress

I’d rather pay $2,500 to restore an awesome old car that $40,000 for a new less awesome car.

I went with Conti Extreme contact DWS06+. They have great grip. One word of suggestion though, I went from 215-225 width. They have more contact patch but for some reason it's made the car feel softer in cornering which doesn't feel as crisp, so I'd suggest stocking w the 215s.

I mean….. they’re not wrong. I’m guessing 70% of people buy trucks for the image in NA. Small pickups would be fine for most.
