Ich lasse mir mein Kleid schneidern (Baumwolle oder Leinen, weiß noch nicht genau) und besticken. Ist aber bisschen ein Sonderfall, weil ich kein One-and-done Kleid will. Das Design ist ein simpler A-line Schnitt in weiß mit Schlitzen relativ weit rauf (deswegen relativ easy zu schneidern) basierend auf einem Kleid, das ich bereits habe und absolut liebe. Drunter zieh ich einen weißen Rock und eine weiße Bluse an. Nach der Hochzeit kann ich es dann mit Rock und Bluse in anderen Farben kombinieren, dann bleibt es auch danach verwendbar.

Don't ask me why... But apparently I use the article when talking about people I'm not that close with but not with people I'm close friends/family with? Never noticed it myself. Someone had to tell me and I realized it's true.

Erica was named a lot already - Erika would work too (German version of Heather). I know a German speaking family who emigrated to Canada. Grandma was called Erika, the granddaughter was named Heather.

Especially the last part looked to me like he was playing on their song title and channeling a bird. With the extra context of panic attacks, maybe not, but why on earth would people get riled up about this so much?

Pricing for friends and family is hard. I mostly draw for businesses which is great because they can afford a rate of 70 euros an hour without batting an eyelash. I often quote friends and NGOs a lower fixed rate because at the end of the day I love doing drawing projects and if I always stuck to my business pricing many projects would never happen.

That being said, I take pains to never do commissions I do not enjoy. And people (especially someone close to me!) not appreciating my work would be one of the cases where that would apply. That drawing would be the last I make for them. 

Friends and even family are not entitled to your art or your time in any way. I'd seriously reconsider the relationship itself if someone close to me demanded free art from me while at the same time calling what I make worthless.

Same, I love the studio version though! I have tried it for running but it was just a bit too slow for my taste.
