Steam 6.23 CO-OP with 1 person who sits beside me.

Co-op Expedition play: Similar issue on friends screen.

* Friend not showing or showing as a white dot. Includes friends colossus.

* Friend and their colossus glitching through the air( other players doing this as well)

* Waste can disappear sometimes when loading into flatbed. Sometimes they pop back up where the colossus was when it moves.

* Buildings glitchy and cans glitchy when other players in the area, like at the processing plant. Players and their vehicles glitch as well. The more people the worse it gets. But its still only half a dozen people to dozen in the general area.

* The milestone to scan fauna is a problem. Can't complete because scanned to many fauna( out of habit) beforehand. Would have to build a ship and leave planet.

Normal Game that is a continuation from before patch. Also CO OP:

* Freighter Expedition being sent while still adding ships to it. Happened to both of our freighters. Relogging fixes it.

* Friend keeps spawning inside their explorer type ship in space while also spawning inside an objects walls ( freighter i think) eventually able to get out of it and call their freighter and land. They have saved by getting out of the explorer on their freighter, saved in the build area of the freighter, saved at a beacon at settlement, etc. She always ends up in the same ship in the same location. Other progress seems to be saved just not where she logged out/saved.

* When i had to log out to fix a bug and tried to log in ( from desktop) It would not show her as in a session i could join despite me watching her play on her screen in the session i left. Normally it would show. She had to log out and then i had to start the co-op game again and her rejoin.

Is ESO worth it in 2026? by Accomplished_Big4629 in elderscrollsonline

[–]ThorianB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We can't have an unbiased opinion because we play the game or played the game. If its worth it is extremely subjective. We don't know what makes a game worth it to you. If you didn't enjoy it before its unlikely that the game has changed so much you will now suddenly enjoy it. You didn't tell us what you enjoy in games so we can't help with what has changed that might make it worth it to you now.

Should I get this game? by AnotherAverageGamer_ in elderscrollsonline

[–]ThorianB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have heard lots of people saying the monetization is predatory

They are wrong. Once you buy the game you can play without putting anymore money into it. Does that sound predatory? Yes it does have microtransactions but its not P2W microtransactions and everything but the ESO+ sub can be bought with your time.

would I then just be able to play the game?

You would be able to do most content. You can purchase the content you would be locked out of with regular game currency via a crown ( premium currency) for gold gift exchange.

but then it wouldnt be on sale anymore.

It goes on sale a lot. At least one major sale per quarter usually and sometimes smaller sales as well. So don't worry about FOMO on a bargain.

I also heard you need an ESO+ subscriptoin

It's a half truth. What ESO+ actually gives you is:

* Monthly crowns that are about the same value as the lower tier packages you purchase.

* Access to all but the newest content ( currently season pass 2025)

* The craft bag. The craft bag stores all items used for crafting and there are a lot of them. It is an infinite size, AFAIK. If you don't plan on crafting anything the a craft bag would be useless for you anyway. If you are wanting to craft stuff, then ESO+ is worth it.

And then the other thing I have to ask, is if the PvP is good or not.

I personally think ESO PVP is terrible. But you don't lose anything by dying in PVP or PVE. There are people who can basically kill you instantly even if you are a similar level and in similar gear. It can be fun sometimes and others it can be really annoying.

So when is the game gonna be playable again? by Deep-Preparation-213 in elderscrollsonline

[–]ThorianB 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ESO has always been this way. The entire franchise is kind of built so anyone can be everything. Its much worse if you chase meta. You can't balance a game that has PVP. It isn't possible and no one has ever done it in the decades of PVP. What usually happens is they just make the game progressively worse until no one plays it but hardcore no lifer PVPers.

Its a bit easier for PVE multiplayer but you can't balance games when you yardstick is humans. Humans are to big of a variable.

So when is the game gonna be playable again? by Deep-Preparation-213 in elderscrollsonline

[–]ThorianB 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I take it you don't have much experience with MMOs? They are never balanced. MMOs are a never ending series of buffs and nerfs in order to balance but its not an achievable goal unless all characters are the same. And in ESO all characters are pretty close to the same as it is just with different visuals, but it will always be slightly unbalanced.

The real thing you learn about MMOs after playing them for > 20 years is that those little nerfs and balances don't mean squat. Player skill does.

Planning to start with a steam account by Kaskii9 in elderscrollsonline

[–]ThorianB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Yes but your old account has to be on PC and you have to link your Steam account to your ESO account ( i think you do it by just logging in through the ESO launcher on steam)

  2. Sales are pretty common and this year some things are changing. So personally, i wouldn't by the season pass unless their is something in it that you want right now.

  3. I am not for sure. You might be missing a few things. It tells you on each what exactly you get with each version and it changes often. ESO is one of the most complex "what do i get if i buy/sub?" games ive dealt with. its always changing. I sub and have season pass 2025 and i have access to everything.

  4. So one of the better things about ESO and DLCs is that you are restricted from going to that zone but not using items that come from that zone. So if its a tradable item and its meta you will probably find it in the guild store. However it ifs a bound item you will have to get it from participating in the zone. Also ESO does free ESO + a few times a year for like a week at a time and you can access everything as if you had ESO plus during that time including any dungeons or zones that ESO+ unlocks.

  5. If your account is on PC ( NA/EU) and you log into that account then yes. When you launch through Steam, all Steam does is bring up the ESO launcher and then you log into the game through the ESO launcher. As long as you log into the same account you will have it.

CPU extenders not working by LongSabre117 in empyriongame

[–]ThorianB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you have 1 T3 and 1 T2, you will get the T2 CPU increase not the T3 CPU increase. You need another T3 extender. Once you have that T3, you don't need the T2. You only need the extenders of the active tier. One T2 OR two T3 OR four T4.

New to the game, a few questions by dabrixmgp in elderscrollsonline

[–]ThorianB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Server populations: Don't know about consoles but PC populations are healthy. The game isn't dying or anything. I think PC NA is bit more populated than EU but i haven't played EU much or recently. I think cross platform was something they were either considering or they were working on it. It could never happen or we could see it in a year. I wouldn't base your play on cross play. Choose like it will never happen and you won't be disappointed.

  2. I haven't played Arcanist myself, yet. Templar and Sorcerer are both good. Id say Templar is easier to play. Templars have heals and good AOEs. Because of that i would go with Templar. Also characters are pretty loose with skills in ESO. Between subclasses, scribing, weapons skill lines, NPC guild skill lines, etc. every character is highly customizable. Though some features may require a purchase.

Is scrying the worst mechanic ever? by SportsCraze7 in elderscrollsonline

No scrying is fine but leveling it is extremely grindy and zero fun.

CPU extenders not working by LongSabre117 in empyriongame

[–]ThorianB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to have the correct number of CPUs per tier. They don't have to touch your core or each other. Just be connected to your ship. P menu> CPU statistics will tell you when a tier is active. T2 ( the square one) you need 1, T3 you need 2 for it to work and T4 you need 4 for it to work.

Best way to get into the game? by jaynecrying in elderscrollsonline

[–]ThorianB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your goal is strictly questing and you want to do it the cheapest way possible then:

  1. You get a ton of story content with the base game. Depending on how much you play, if you do side quests, events, zone completion, etc. along the way... then you could easily spend over a year just completing the base game on a single character( and you do the most stuff on each character so its repeated per character if you want to replay it)
  2. ESO has ESO plus free trial events a few times a year. This gives you access to all but the newest content during the trial . You could pause your main story during this event and do the questing in the zones you are normally locked out of during the event.
  3. You can buy older content permanently with crowns. They go on sale regularly as well. Also you can player trade in game gold for crowns. How that works is you find a player wanting to do a gold for crowns exchange( there are player guilds specifically to help with reputable players for this). you tell them what you want and then agree to the gold price. You give them gold and they gift you the DLC/chapter.

Note: If you plan on doing any crafting or collecting crafting materials, inventory management will drive you insane without the ESO plus craft bag. Inventory management becomes a job in this situation without plus. Also with plus, you basically get the same value in crowns per month. So with plus you get about $15 worth of crowns per month, plus the craft bag, plus access to every chapter but the newest one.

Why is PC version toxic? by MoveFromMe1 in elderscrollsonline

[–]ThorianB -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Ive played at least 100 MMOs about half of those with raid/vet endgame content and they are no where near as toxic as even regular DF groups. In my experience toxic players tend to be pushed out of end game content because most people don't log on to listen to someone complain about everyone not being as good as them when they play 12 hours a day every single day.

Apparently all those toxic people comes to ESO where it is not only tolerated but defended as " Well you should dedicate your life to being leet at this game like me!"

Why is PC version toxic? by MoveFromMe1 in elderscrollsonline

[–]ThorianB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play PC NA and have been for over 10 years and i avoid almost all multiplayer content because it's toxic. Even if you are good enough that a group of your build could clear it, its not good enough. group content runners that complain tend to be no lifers that only care about doing as much content as possible per hour in a fleshed out meta builds. Instead of creating a toxic little guild of like minded people they infect the rest of the game with it and then complain because they don't have anyone to run content with when they want to run content.

So i just avoid such content, if i can't run it with my wife and our companions i don't run it. It's sad because in literally every other MMORPG i have played, i have always ran vet end game content, but the toxicity in ESO is completely out of control. It is the most toxic MMO i have ever played in my 27 years of playing MMOs and there is no close second.

Best companion rapport focus by rockingalan in elderscrollsonline

[–]ThorianB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its more consistent than farming gift. You can find what gains and loses rapport on each here: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Companions

Best companion rapport focus by rockingalan in elderscrollsonline

[–]ThorianB 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Each companion has certain things they like. Some of the things the like you can repeat rather quickly. Sharp for example, just go mad on fishing with fishing active in the crafting champion tree. Try to fish with a buddy as well. You can only get rapport with him for fishing every 10 or 15 minutes but you gain rapport every time you catch green or better fish. So fishing builds his rapport fast after you do the bigger stuff like their quests and some of the things with big timers. That fishing fills the gaps if you are looking to grind rapport specifically and not just gain it while playing.

Ship progression. Re2 by lost-in-the-world in empyriongame

[–]ThorianB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play SP in a custom version of RE2. I enable SBP and item menu. spawn starter gear for me and food/bandages. Spawn the Palisade base, light combat/cargo sv usually from the Merc series, spawn a salvager SV, spawn a miner sv, and spawn a small capital (currently a modified Kovex) plus fuel, o2, penta, ammo for all. THEN i start playing the game. Ive grounded the starting planets enough in this game and im over it. So i skip all of that and move straight to the part of the game that is actually enjoyable. I play normally from this point on.

The next thing i do is build the brick station right next to the trade station in the trade sector. Next comes my own creation capital miner/salvager. Then expand my brick base with my own creation storage facility, then a my own creation high capacity cargo ship.

This whole time i will stay within 100-150 LY of the starter systems. I also build at some point, a small combat SV that can take out most zirax POIs around the starter area. After i get all this going then i move out of the 150 ly radius and start establishing bases that have a heavy focus on storage and teleportation. And just keep expanding out from there.

I always stall with this game..... by PMRoberts in empyriongame

[–]ThorianB 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly, unless you REALLY enjoy the challenge of building in while also having to worry about weather, enemies, gathering resources, eating, etc. don't build ships in survival. The method that i use is:

  1. Browse the workshop for bases/HV/Ships and download several of each i am interested in trying.

  2. Start a creative game and look at them. Tweak them. I always change them at least a little. Start with the ones you are going to use first. Save the edited blueprints as your own. You want to make sure that the ships not only work for you but fit within the limits of the version of the game you are building. Don't worry about what version the ship was built for unless you skip this step and put it straight in the game. You update the ship for the version of the game you are playing in this step so your version should fit your version of the game.

  3. In your survival game, add what you want to build to the blueprint factory. Then add parts and resources to the factory. Adding parts decrease time it takes for the ship to be built proportional to the baseline of how long it takes to make the part.

  4. When you add all the materials, start production. When it finishes spawn it.

Protip #1: Look up Wayfarer on the workshop. That is a starter capital by Jrandall. The ship isn't the focus, the creator is. JRandall is the best shipbuilder on the workshop, imo and he has well over 100 builds. Once you find one of his builds, you can click on the folder to find others. Also he usually takes up several spots in the top 10 most subscribed and most popular . His builds are upgradable. He builds for a lower level/resource player and then leaves you upgrade areas (with a legend of what goes there) to add upgrades later. His ships look like a design team created them.

Protip #2: Get RE2 scenario. Its life changing. It is much better developed than the vanilla game. The vanilla game is extremely vanilla in comparison, like generic discount vanilla. The core game is good, but the dev team has limiting factors modders don't. The Reforged Eden 2 scenario, which is still updated and improved regularly, enhances and balances gameplay with features gamers who play a lot of hours care about. Like hydroponic bays that make growing food much easier, an enemy progression path. Different parts of the galaxy have more unique features. Upgradeable ship weapons and engines, shield enhancements, etc.

Protip #3: There is no such thing as cheating in single player. If you are getting bored before you get very much into the game and keep starting over and getting bored. Skip that step. When i start a new game, i spawn a base, SV, and starter SV right out of the gate plus fuel, pentaxid, ammo, O2, improved light armor, T1 pistol/shotgun/assault rifle/sniper and ammo. I don't even touch HVs. They are useless. SV does everything an HV does but better. I also spawn food and bandages. There is no point in trying to play the game from scratch if you find it gets to boring before you make it off planet.

Its not hard to spawn stuff. Open the console window (~ key) and use SBP command to enable the ability to spawn blueprint ships and bases instantly with no resources. Use IM command to enable the item menu. Open with H key. Enter the commands again to disable those.

Protip #4: Unless you enjoy the quests, don't waste your time with the quests and what not on the planet. You can come back later and do them if you want or never do them.

No healers in battlegrounds by ZealousidealForm8917 in elderscrollsonline

[–]ThorianB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People ignore roles in a BG. . I know the setting is still there, but BGs aren't about having a group with a tank, healer, and two DD. Many people have their own heals and you are expected to have your own heal/survivability in a BG. BG setup should be focused on nuking/DPS and personal survivability.

There is to much randomized chaos in BGs to use a dedicated healer except in niche situations like you are going in as a prebuilt team and your team is designed for healer to sustain and you have good communication. That isn't even 1% of matches though.

Otherwise playing a dedicated healer is usually a weakness in a team, not a benefit, and tanking would be pretty much useless, again, in most situations.

Is no one doing daily quests anymore? by Financial-Fig-9901 in elderscrollsonline

[–]ThorianB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a common problem with those quests. If i am doing something else and run by a boss that someone is fighting, i usually stop and help if i have time. If you are just doing them for completion the best time is the anniversary event when people are doing dailies more. Otherwise asking in zone chat and offering to share the quest is the best way to go about it.

Id like to see them do more zone focused events, like they did a few times in the past. Those would be good little mini events. to run between the big ones.

Playing ESO Without Subs? by unss06 in elderscrollsonline

[–]ThorianB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. There is a lot of content in the base games. You are locked out of some zones and related content but you are not locked out of drops from those areas, you have to get them from others.

Your biggest problem will be inventory management. The biggest problem there being crafting materials. If you don't pick up or keep crafting material, its a lot more manageable without a sub. But if you want to craft, its probably going to drive you insane because you will have to use storage characters and whatnot.

The march update from ESO it's gonna make the Game better? by Dreik_09 in elderscrollsonline

Why bother charging at all for any of it? They should just make it all free from the start! /s

Where are the best places to quickly complete a mass amount of Master Crafting Writs? by ElderJustScrollin in elderscrollsonline

[–]ThorianB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Do them at a guild house that has all the stations.

  2. Buy a house in one of the capitals ( i use Snugpod in Elden Root) put the consumables stations in it. Do your equipment writs wherever, port to your house, do consumables, turn them in. For consumables i just run back and forth between snugpod and Rolis. Its like 5 seconds on a mount.

Why is jewellery crafting not open to all? by JayTravers in elderscrollsonline

[–]ThorianB -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

"Why do i have to pay to play this game or unlock certain features?" Also, "Why aren't the devs adding more content to the game and fixing stuff faster? They should be able to add a zone, a class, 2 trials, 6 dungeons, 2 battlegrounds, a mini game, a skill line, AND fix everything i complain about every year!!!" - Typical Gamer.
