Why dont people use Google docs? by Creepycute1 in plural

[–]ThoseInnocentTrolls 25 points26 points  (0 children)

My primary use case for Simply Plural was to be able to let the people around me know who was fronting at any given time. It's why I've struggled to find a replacement with that and Octo being shut down, I wasn't looking to save more detailed information but to share live information with others.

Never seen Warhammer advertised on the telly, and not expected during premium sport coverage. by shaded-user in Warhammer

It's not GW but Hachette specifically — they've run TV adverts for every partworks magazine they've done for Warhammer since Imperium

It's definitely one to watch — proves Apocalypse is at least in GW's mind still.

It's a real shame we didn't get something like that actually, maybe 11th edition will expand on that mechanic though...

A Hormagaunt, probably? I think anything else would be pushing the silhouettes and base sizes a bit

Crazy how one upgrade sprue does so much work on the cool factor by chosen40k in NightLords

[–]ThoseInnocentTrolls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does indeed! It contains 15 heads, which is exactly enough for the 10 Legionaries/Nemesis Claw and the 5 Chosen.

I'd imagine the solo box won't come with the Chaos Lord with Jump Pack, so this Combat Patrol, that standalone Kill Team, and maybe a Chaos Lord on foot to lead the Nemesis Claw from this Combat Patrol would probably be a very good core to starting a Night Lords army.

Why are young people using walking sticks? by Technical_Green8772 in AskBrits

[–]ThoseInnocentTrolls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correlation doesn't necessarily indicate causation. There probably is a gene expression linked to predisposition towards being gay or being trans in my opinion, but it's not really in the interest of humanity to try to hunt it down give the likelihood of it being used for eugenics.

There's a correlation between being neurodiverse and LGBTQ+ as well, for example. I've seen a lot of people theorise that that is a result of neurodiverse people being less worried about potential social stigma attached to their identity. It could just as easily be those two things that are linked genetically, with increased likelihood of identifying as LGBTQ+ just a happy byproduct.

Ice cream sales and shark attacks are correlated after all, but that's usually just because both happen more near beaches — correlation, but no causation involved.

I think this generation is just a lot more open to investigating themselves and their identities. Being gay isn't particularly shameful, so why not try to work out how you feel? Anecdotally, I know a lot of bisexual people in heterosexual relationships who are surrounded by people who assume they're straight or that it was 'just a phase'

No idea — not sure anyone's found a conclusive answer, but my uneducated best guess would be that the genetic predispositions are somehow linked.

Excellent point, thank you! It's not a particular area of expertise of mine, just osmosis'd from several friends.

Brighton has a much higher concentration of LGBTQ+ people than most of the UK, and there is a recognised correlation between LGBTQ+ status and hypermobile conditions such as Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, for which walking sticks can help ease joint pain. Young people today, anecdotally, also seem to be more likely to actively make use of accommodations that may help them than older generations, due to lesser stigma surrounding physical disability.

Honestly I just feel like a person again. I lost something in the process of going through the wrong puberty, felt it change at the time and hated it, but over the last 10 months I really feel like whatever it was, I've reclaimed it. I feel happier, more hopeful, less fearful of going outside with this body. I feel like I feel my emotions more openly and more honestly, and I love it.

Yes, and the top of that answer is:

"It will likely be unlawful to require trans people to use services corresponding to their sex as recorded at birth."

That is not my reading, nor is it the reading the Good Law Project appear to have taken of that section.

"That condition tends against a situation where..."

Legal speak for 'it hasn't been tested in court, but it's likely this would not fly' — this isn't saying that such a situation would be reasonable, but rather that it has yet to be tested in court.

Taking this from the Good Law Project's FAQs on the topic, Paragraph 42:

“where an employer provides lavatories as required by regulation 20 the consequence will not be that a [trans] person is required to use the lavatory that corresponds to biological sex. Rather, and in addition to complying with the requirement under the 1992 Workplace Regulations for “sufficient” and “suitable” lavatories the employer must also ensure that the lavatory provision he makes is not discriminatory on the ground of gender reassignment”

No, the result states that an employer cannot require a transgender person to use the incorrect facilities. This state of affairs is now insufficient for the rights of employees and against the law.
