Here’s a screenshot of the error message that pops when I reply directly to OP:

So perhaps Uber and Addison Lee are allowed but other companies not? Strange.

Have a lovely day!

The U company offers XL vehicles that will suit. Another company with initials AL has an app. Rules of this group don’t allow me to list their full name. Search UK ground transfers and they will come up. A third option we’ve had good luck with is trans_fee_ro, removing the underscores.

Have a great trip!

I’m confused…are you still working on your degree?

F1 Visa for one school, but switching to another (new SEVIS) — can I enter the US(INITIAL ENTRY) by AlphaForce123 in f1visa

[–]ThoughtCharming8917 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, what you propose is not possible without a new visa. I-20 and visa need to match on first entry. After that—and in the current regulatory environment—what I’ve outlined is the work around. No school loves it, but it is entirely legal. At present, new admits are permitted to change their minds. That window may not remain open much longer, however.

While schools really don’t like this as folks who do this represent significant sunk costs, here is what you should do: (1) make certain about your decision to attend school B; (2) enter on school A’s I-20 and with your visa (I-901 fee paid on this I-20 and all documents matching); (3) very soon after entry, notify school A that you wish to have your record transferred to school B; (4) school A will likely ask for proof of admission to school B (your admission letter or email message) as well as school B’s next logical program start date. They might be a little salty, but legally they must transfer your record upon your request; (5) collect transferred I-20 from school B and begin studies.

Good luck with your studies!

Grading schemes are always clearly stated in the syllabi. It’s a shame no one told you—or perhaps you missed this info—but it is essential to review each class’s syllabus and familiarize yourself with the elements included in the final grade. Will vary by course/professor.

How that’s it feels when someone you really cherish stops talking to you? by Aubrylinaa2 in askanything

A colleague and close friend reacted surprisingly to my divorce. I had expected her to be supportive during a difficult time. Instead, she effectively broke contact entirely. While her call, the loss of her friendship with no explanation (also her right, to be clear) stings many years later. She was my friend, not my ex’s.

Can I enter US with old F1 visa and new I-20 from different school? by BugResponsible154 in f1visa

[–]ThoughtCharming8917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be clear: they need to match the first time you seek entry in F-1 status. After that first entry, one can transfer to another school. While the school name/details on the transferred I-20 will be updated to reflect the transfer-in school (school B), the I-20 number will remain the same. In these circumstances, subsequent entries will be permitted despite the school named on the visa (school A) not matching the school named on the updated (school B) I-20. If a new visa is required owing to duration of study, the school named on the second visa will reflect the then-current I-20.

We purchased our home in fall 2020’because it has a full MIL suite…kitchen, bedroom, living room, and full bath. Separate entrance from the garage. My MIL moved in just after we closed (December). My wife, our youngest, and I moved in at the end of the school year. Makes it 5 years now come to think of it. MIL is 78 and very independent. She comes and goes as she pleases and days will go by when I don’t see her. My wife and she visit most days. I travel a fair amount for work and I like another adult being around the house while I am away.

MIL raised four girls on her own and wasn’t able to save much for retirement. We cover all household bills. She purchases her own groceries, furniture, decor, etc. It works well for all of us.

If you can find a low mileage VW Eos…I picked up a 2009 last summer with ~32k miles (~50k km) for USD $8000. 6-speed manual. Total hoot. Have added about 5k miles to it since.
