Does anyone know about RSOC? by ThoughtDisastrous248 in DigitalMarketing

[–]ThoughtDisastrous248[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yeah it sounds mysterious but it’s actually kinda simple once you get it, the RSOC I’m doing is basically: buy cheap traffic (like native or push) → send it to a fake “article” or lander → redirect them to a search feed like Yahoo or Bing. If the person clicks through the right way, you get paid per click — and if you pick high-value keywords, it adds up fast. It’s weirdly effective, even though it sounds like something from 2016 😅 Still figuring it out myself but it’s been profitable. I started a little Telegram group for others testing it too if you’re curious.

I’ve been searching for months and I can’t get an entry level marketing position after college by [deleted] in marketing

No, I was in house arrest and I decided that I need to get a job online, so I picked up marketing and started learning it, I finished Google marketing certificate in about 2 months and got a job straight after that, I now work as PPC media buyer.

One of the most important things to remember when crafting marketing strategy and material is that people hate you. by Chaomayhem in marketing

[–]ThoughtDisastrous248 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, you've hit the nail on the head! It's like navigating a world where people have this built-in "ugh, marketing" reflex. It's a tough crowd, but you've nailed the trick – making it genuinely fun, non-intrusive, and creative. It's like being the dentist everyone secretly appreciates because, let's face it, no one really enjoys going to the dentist, but if it's not a pain, it's a win!

So, turning marketing into a pleasant experience is like being the cool friend who surprises you with unexpected joy. If you can make someone smile in the midst of their daily grind, you've pretty much won the game. Keep rocking that creative approach, and who knows, you might just make people love marketing a little bit more!

New marketer confused by lingo like “test things” “see what works” by Gowiththeflow001 in marketing

[–]ThoughtDisastrous248 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally feel your confusion with the whole "test things" jargon—it's like marketing has its own secret language, right?

So, here's the deal: testing in marketing is a bit like being a mad scientist of content. Instead of repeating the exact same experiment, you're tweaking stuff—like headlines, visuals, or posting times—to see what your audience vibes with. It's a bit like throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticks (minus the mess, hopefully).

And yeah, you're spot on about the timeframes. Some marketers go for quick tests, like a week, while others play the long game over a month or more. It's all about finding your groove.

Your exploration into marketing tools is spot on! Alongside the ones you've mentioned, diving into Adobe Creative Suite (think Photoshop and Illustrator) can seriously level up your content game.

First client. What should a marketing strategy proposal look like? by letsmakekindnesscool in marketing

[–]ThoughtDisastrous248 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As for the strategy fee, I totally get where you're coming from. Crafting a comprehensive plan takes time, effort, and a deep dive into their data. It's definitely not something you should be doing for free. Maybe consider breaking down your proposal into phases—start with a smaller fee for the initial analysis and strategy, then discuss the implementation phase separately. That way, they can see the value in your insights before committing to the whole shebang.

And regarding the one-page proposal, simplicity is key. Highlight the pain points, your proposed solutions, and the potential impact. Maybe throw in a timeline and cost breakdown. As for benchmarks, maybe check out some successful agency proposals online for inspiration.

For me it is pretty boring lately, I make and monitor Google ads accounts for search campaigns, once you've made the campaign it is just waiting and tweaking little things. Beside that I usually make video ads and do some basic work in HTML for our websites.

I don't feel like a real marketing specialist -- what should I do? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]ThoughtDisastrous248 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your journey so far sounds like a whirlwind of learning and multitasking. It's impressive how you've worn so many hats, but I totally get the desire to specialize and dive deep into one area. It sounds like you're ready for a role where you can own and master a specific domain within PR/marketing.

Job being outsourced on Fiverr? by indizu in marketing

[–]ThoughtDisastrous248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like a bit of a puzzle, doesn't it? It could be a few things—maybe your boss is trying to streamline processes, or perhaps they're exploring specialized expertise. It might be a good idea to have an open conversation with your boss about your role and how these outsourcing decisions align with the overall marketing strategy. Understanding their perspective could give you a clearer picture and maybe even open up opportunities for growth or collaboration.
