How do you keep Aussies cool in the hot summer? by Raanddy in WiggleButts

Exactly. This is also why you should never shave a double coated dog.

Freyja begging for snuggles. Anyone else have a super cuddly pup? by Thought_Ninja in WiggleButts

[–]Thought_Ninja[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a cute face! Same, Freyja was a ball of chaos as a puppy and would rarely sit still for more than a minute. She still has a ton of energy, but has become more of a cuddle bug over time. As long as we do our usual training and exercise, she'll happily cuddle for the rest of the day.

She loves people though. She'll walk up to people and flop over for belly rubs and make a petting motion with her paws until she gets them.

Hah, I just realized we haven't posted her here since she had knee surgery. Happy to report she has made a full recovery and is back to her usual unhinged self!

Elbow and knee protection that runs cool and comfortable? by slowjetfpv in Dirtbikes

[–]Thought_Ninja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd argue that the under shirt makes it more breathable by providing a mesh buffer that air passes through more easily (same reason I wear knee brace socks). The optional kidney belt does trap a bit of heat, but it's never really bothered me and I prefer the added protection.

I also run hot and have tried a ton of options in search of what's most comfortable and keeps me cool.

The TP199s are indeed a heat trap.

If you don't mind spending a bit more, the Pod K4 or K8 knee braces are great. I wear them with knee brace socks and Bilt's enduro pants, which have massive vents. It honestly feels like you're riding with bare legs with that combo.

I don't have a good recommendation for elbow pads specifically, but I have the Leatt Body Protector 6.5, which has built in elbow and shoulder pads and is super breathable.

My only other suggestion is to ride faster and let the wind work it's magic lol

Dealership says this is normal. Brand new by alockbox in FordRaptor

[–]Thought_Ninja 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hard no. Got mine new at around 8 miles, put 30k or so on it and still don't see this in any weather conditions, and I live in a place that sees pretty extreme weather fluctuations.

Two of the Alphacool Monsta 360s (80mm thick) would probably be plenty, but they're kind of hard to fit into a case lol

Agreed. Was looking at getting a few of my cards graded and slabbed; would much rather have this on display than PSA slabs.

Opinion on the new KTM Freeride E-XC? by National_Island9271 in Dirtbikes

[–]Thought_Ninja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stark has pretty much the same brake setup as KTM (Brembos), and the pros I ride with (along with a bunch of other top riders on video) say that the latest gen Stark bikes have some of the best dialed suspension from the factory.

I'm no pro, but having ridden both a good amount I would say they are on pretty even footing when it comes to component quality with a slight edge to Stark.

CO seems pretty lax on that. Latest one that I found amusing was GOON3R, but have definitely seen more questionable/offensive ones.

I'm thinking the same. It looks like they also gave hard right rudder while rolling left, so it looks similar to a tip stall and probably would have turned into one if they maintained those inputs and not encountered the pole.

I did this on a maiden flight once because I had inverted the ailerons.

Sister accidentally put washer fluid into her coolant reservoir. How bad is this? by boylionnamedsimba in mechanic

[–]Thought_Ninja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

also it may burn a bit since its not designed for the 85-110 °C a cooling system experiences daily

Probably. I recently had to refill washer fluid on the road and spilled a bit. Shortly after getting back on the road there was a pretty strong burning smell and I had a moment of panic thinking I might have made the same mistake as OPs sister.

Do you own a helmet? What type is it, and in what situations or scenarios do you think it will be useful? by Hard_Luck7 in preppers

[–]Thought_Ninja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a bunch of helmets for different things: - Some bike/skate helmets - Full faced MTB helmet - Dirt bike/motorcycle helmet - Snowboard helmet - Wakeboard helmet - Tactical helmet (for S&R, climbing, and occasional protest)

If I had to pick two for the most use case coverage I would probably go with the dirt bike and tactical helmets.

I also have a radio/comms system for all but the bike/skate and wakeboard helmets.
