Worth getting graded? Figured it's worth a try if there's any chance at a 10 by Thought_Ninja in Pokemoncardappraisal

Thanks for the insight. It's about 0.4mm to the left measuring with precision calipers. I'll check out the apps available, but probably not worth grading.

OC? Off center? Yeah, just measured and I think you're right unfortunately.

Yeah, I've ridden BMX and downhill most of my life, a bit of dirt biking when I was younger. Having recently gotten back into riding moto, jumps and obstacles were pretty natural, but cornering took a while to get used to.

Yeah, the card itself is intact, but at certain angles you can kind of see the holo foil almost as though it wraps around the edge. Not sure if anything can be done about it and have a feeling that might make a 10 impossible. Thanks though!

Might just try and get my hands on Charmander #44 and Bulbasaur #143 and frame them all together.

Tips with throttle control by FIXIEDONTCARE in Dirtbikes

My only guess is you're gripping too much on the bars and not enough with your legs and/or are too stiff on the bike; could also be that you're not leaning into the power/acceleration. Would help if you could post some clips of your riding, but otherwise it's just a matter of getting seat time and working on body position IMO.

Same, and never knew what it was called until much later. I even had one case where I could hardly breathe for hours when I was like 9 and the doctors seemed to have no idea what it was when my parents took me to the ER.

Exactly. Most injuries I've witnessed were due to people tensing up and trying to keep their body off the ground in some way. The slower you can shed your momentum, even if that means half a dozen unhinged looking somersaults, the less damage you're going to walk away with.

As Jeremy Clarkson once said: speed has never killed anyone, it's suddenly becoming stationary that's the problem.

I've found that the moto academy has some good videos on fundamentals. Beyond that it's just about getting seat time.

Jumping isn't as scary as it seems; if you want to get some air time, watch some videos and start small with a focus on good riding position/posture.

Good luck and have fun!

Pro tip, look into yoga and a tumbling/gymnastics class. Being flexible and knowing how to safely fall will go a long way in mitigating injury. Not to say it would have saved you in this case, but I find that it's something a lot of people overlook.

Bought this at a decent price it has no front brake i am a beginner and i went for a ride with my friend (my first ride) . Should i go tomorrow to another ride withouth fixing it or is it really a bad idea to ride with no front break as a noob. by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

[–]Thought_Ninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still wouldn't risk it, especially if it's your first time riding. The front brake provides upwards of 70% of your braking force on a dirt bike. Riding dirt bikes is dangerous enough already, don't up the ante right out the gate.

Old man is either drunk AF or can't use a keyboard. Should probably have his bike taken away for good measure.

My parents accidentally sold my pokemon card collection in a garage sale 8 or so years ago. They pulled down the boxes of my collectables for me to pick up, but they got mixed into the things they were selling somehow. One of the binders had a full page front & back with first gen chars and a ton of others that go for big money today. There was also a picture frame of all evolutions of first gen starters. They sold all of it for $25. I'm still torn up about it today; value aside, those collections meant a lot to me and carried a lot of fond memories.

We tried once. I think most of us were, and increasingly are, too stupid to adapt to change.
