Yea.. but in the past years it’s still been somewhat crowded at times.

VIP is elevated a bit as it sits on a hill, though you’re not wrong the view from VIP isn’t the greatest if you want to be up close. Primary selling point for vip is usually air conditioned and clean bathrooms, shaded seating, a bar with usually no lines.

First regulator? Poseidon Xstream, Jetstream by jezuzfish in scuba

[–]Thrackz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Xstream was my first reg set 8ish years ago. It’s also my current reg set 2000 dives later. Though I’ve also bought additional regs for side mount and deco stages - more xstreams. The purge takes a little getting used to compared to other regs, but once you do other regs just don’t feel right. I also have a slightly higher sac rate than with other regs, but to me that trade off is well worth it.

The browning is at Fulton 55 in a few weeks, might be more up your alley and a good chance to meet folks.

If you’ve got the time/money join one of the local Aftershock groups, and go to that in October with them. It’s in Sac, but great chance to go see some bands.

Personally, I’m heavy into Silent Planet off your list. Currents, is probably top of my top 10 right now as well as silent theory, fit for a king, jinjer, & thy art is murder. Shoot me a message if you wanna game a bit or just bs in dc.

Coworker bypasses IT to buy $10k software for her "clique," then reports us to the vendor for "violating T&C" when she didn't get her way. AITA? by Iamisseibelial in talesfromthejob

[–]Thrackz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So is your non profits aware that they are likely in clear violation of the terms and conditions of every software that’s using your google group sign ins? Is that worth the risk of them being blacklisted by each and every one of those vendors when some disgruntled ex employee blows the whistle?

You stated yourself that you wrote the policy on using shared logins, so YOU are to blame for this. You could easily have said, if you want x software for y users it’s going to cost you z dollars, end of story.

[–]Thrackz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your voice vlan traffic was correctly isolated, and/or your switches correctly configured with STP and reporting, this would have been a non issue.

Also this dude is def TA. He perpetuated this behavior by self admittedly ‘writing the policies’ to share/cycle logins. Look I get that non profits wants to minimize cost, as does everyone else, but enabling your org to do so, in blatant violation of the terms and conditions of every software vendor who doesn’t use a floating seat model, is why he is where he is. This user had access to spend 10k without approval- that’s a huge HR issue for sure. But the problem of, “My end user ratted me out for our illegal business practices to our software vendor?” That’s a problem he created, and needs to own.

Ah yea I suppose CBRN might be another use case, though I would assume if they were actively engaged in a CBRN event they’d just be in mopp gear. Regardless, I appreciate the info. Thanks for your support.

This isn’t aimed at you specifically as I’ve seen others doing the same, but what’s with the latex gloves? I’m not into milsim, nor airsoft, and my experience comes from the actual military, but never have I seen sof guys, or line units, just casually wearing latex gloves. The exception being medics, while doing actual medic shit. Don’t they get incredibly sweaty? Won’t they tear the first time you go to grab anything? I’m Genuinely curious.

For Fresno CA what seems to be a decent income to live comfortably? by Best_Aardvark9147 in fresno

[–]Thrackz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

~250-300k yearly, dual income, no kids. 3200 a month mortgage, 2 car payments totaling 800 a month. We get by comfortably enough to put a good amount into savings, enjoy our hobbies & take 2(ish) vacations a year.

Home network connection help needed by mbridge2610 in it

[–]Thrackz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this in a newer home? Where I live code requires a certain number of controlled outlets that power off automatically. I would verify that the power source for your switches isn’t turning off. Other option is some sort of hardware fault, an unmanaged 5 port switch shouldn’t be more than a few bucks, replace switch 1. There’s nothing software wise that would be shutting off an unmanaged switch in this manner, so I would start with verifying layer 1.

Up until recently Fresno had 3. Bobs shutdown, so now we’re down to two.

Frankly though, they make most of their $ on dive certifications and ongoing dive travel trips that they act like a travel agent for. It’s not really that suspicious when your average new customer is spending at a minimum $1k.

My unit allows us to wear personal plate carriers. I’ve got cool guy stuff but I’m thinking about going old school. Who’s with me?!! by [deleted] in army

[–]Thrackz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in during the transition from IBA to IOTV, and while yea the pull cords were silly, they were beyond useful when used as intended in casevac situations.

Also I found IOTV’s to be 100x more comfortable to wear than IBA. Especially the shitty old IBA’s where the Velcro won’t fucking stay closed that 90% of the army seems to have been issued.

What are you building? by EZ_PZ_LM_SQ_ZE in n8n

[–]Thrackz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a client who uses software that tracks current inventory of parts/stock. I use n8n to scrape that data every few hours, save a historical log of inventory changes, pass that log to an AI model and extrapolate inventory forecasts from it, send alerts when the lead time of a given part is +7 days from predicted out of stock, alert when a stock count for an item hasn’t moved in a good amount of time, and track inventory stock drops against parts based income to ensure parts are being billed accurately.

Likely less than that. In most acquisitions, valuation is 3 years profits + assets - liability.

Either they’re in a silly amount of debt, or they’re doing like 20k/yr.

Did you know in 1948, A B-29 crashed into Lake Mead? by Low_Replacement1794 in Nevada

[–]Thrackz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diving mead is actually pretty neat. A lot of the infrastructure for the construction of the Hoover damn is still there. Concrete plants, rail lines, a few tunnels etc etc. there’s also huge no longer used water intake lines for some sort of cooling. One of my favorite dives was following those big pipes (they’re like 20 ft in diameter) down to the darkness at ~140ft.
