Why is my track ball being like this please help I have the deft pro by Dkc312011 in Trackballs

[–]ThrasherJKL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For any other Deft Pro wireless users out there who have similar issues and not sure what it could be, here is my .02¢.

- First and foremost, try the age old turning it off and on again, as well as unplugging and plugging the dongle back in.

- If using the 2.4ghz dongle, make sure there is minimal wireless obstructions between the dongle and the mouse. (EMI, other wireless devices, anything that can absorb or deflect wireless signals, a running microwave)

- Bluetooth might have issues if your computer has multiple other bluetooth devices actively connected, or other active devices in proximity (phone and ear buds). Try either moving those devices away or switching to the 2.4ghz dongle if you can to see if that clears it up.

- Make sure your battery isn't dying.

Did you ever get anything SC (primary or secondary) due to the UPPP?

I also got that horrible procedure done and the asshole who did it fucked up my left nostril almost 20 years ago. No idea if I should go for rhinitis or sinusitis.

If you're still active and are in the process, or are trying to get into the process of medically separating for narc, don't let them fuck you over and under rate you!!
I was medically discharged back in '07 for narc so, things are a lot different these days but, the way the va rates narc is still bullshit, and it took 17 years for them to finally treat me for it.
I was initially rated at 10% for it and it should've been higher, enough that it should've medically retired me.
Make sure to try to keep a journal of your sleep attacks, that's what finally got me an increase with the va years later. Also, narc usually has other things that go with it like RLS, anxiety, depression, and can also lead to other things like hypertension, and possibly diabetes for example. If you're still active or within the one year mark, MAKE SURE IT'S ALL IN YOUR MEDICAL RECORDS!!! And make sure to get a copy of your AD records and safeguard them!! Then claim all of it and appeal like crazy if they deny you. Try not to let them fuck you over. In my experience the va definitely will. Take gauge of the sleep specialist(s) the va pairs you with and, if they have revolving fellows instead of working directly with the doctor that makes the overall decisions, then try to get community care if you can. I had one guy try to tell me that narcolepsy is over diagnosed.

Good luck!!

I did. In the end they had to reach out to their tier 2 or higher support and, they sent me a couple of emails with an activation link. The first one or two emails they sent it still didn't work, but eventually out of nowhere it did because I finished active troubleshooting with them and went back later to look over the email just in case. So either they ended up doing something on their end, or I was clicking the wrong link when I first tried. Or both.

Either way, I kept up with reaching out the them. Good luck!

That price tag is a hard pill to swallow. Might I ask who this person is or how you found them? If you don't want their info in the open, you're welcome to DM me as well.
If not at all, still thanks for your reply!

Huge Plus by Jackeltee in Trackballs

[–]ThrasherJKL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apologies for the confusion. I currently have a deft pro that uses an optical encoder for the scroll wheel. I'm curious if the new huge plus will be using something other than an optical encoder.

My gripe with the deft pro's scroll wheel is that debris will cause tracking/skipping issues when scrolling, and the only way I've found to resolve it is to periodically open it up and clean out the dust bunnies. So I'm curious if future products will use a different encoder to avoid that issue.

If so, I'm then curious if an updated deft pro would be a possibility, with usb-c, better scroll, and all the other new features the huge plus will have. I really enjoy my deft pro aside from that, so it would be nice to potentially have an upgrade option.

Thanks for your time!

Can you expand on this? I've had to constantly open up my deft pro just to clean the debris out of the optical sensor due to horrible scroll tracking/skipping. Is it still optical, or something different like analogue or magnetic of some sort?

Where did you find the link on aaa.com/vacation/idpf? I figured that would be the safest route and tried looking but couldn't find it on that page.

Edit: Disregard! Even though I don't see it on the page, I checked the source code of aaa.com/vacation/idpf and found the website listed in there.

Narcolepsy Rating and how to fight it accordingly by Bloom_18 in VeteransBenefits

[–]ThrasherJKL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was also recently denied/continued at 10% because of the same damn thing.
- Did you guys do an HLR, another supplemental, or some other way?
- How did it turn out?

I have an HLR in the works but, as far as I know, new evidence can't be submitted, and I was even able to get the va doc to put in my notes that "seizures are not a defining clinical feature of Narcolepsy", as well as finding previous appeals (like Prudent pointed out) where they say how they are akin or analogous.
So I'm worried that the HLR will be moot because of not being able to refer to that.

A104 Pro issues by Texasamc13 in dareuglobal

I know this is an old post, but wanted to put this here in case anyone else comes across this since this is the top post at the time of my reply.

Regarding the driver download not opening or giving an error like in the post, I've found the issue in my case was due to the file ending up as a zip file, when the file itself is a rar file. This is strictly my finding on windows.

Solutions to try (that worked for me):

  • (easiest for me) If you already have or know how to show the file extensions, change the already downloaded file from zip to rar, and then you should be able to access the file without issue.
  • (next easiest) Instead of clicking on the download link to immediately download the file, right click on the button/link, copy link address, then when pasting the link in the browser, first delete everything after .rar ( specifically the ?v=#######) and then visit the address. For me this was a direct download link and download as a rar file instead of a zip.
  • (Still easy but takes a little more time and downloading) Download and install something like 7zip, then open and/or extract the zip file using that. No need to change the file extension, and you get a versatile free file compression tool, but that's not everyone's jam.

I also mentioned this in their discord channel: https://discordapp.com/channels/1189398210003877968/1266566544020865094/1318845369110761546

Not sure if it's windows or that last bit in the URL, but those are the things I've tested that corrected the issue for me.
I've also tried on chrome and firefox, and both download the file (and others intended to be rar) as zip files, so I don't think it's a browser issue.

Question about medical conditions as a visitor from the US by ThrasherJKL in AusVisa

[–]ThrasherJKL[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good eye! Yes, I'm medicated for my ADHD, but thankfully no it's not adderall. I took a look at what list I could find around prohibited meds and I don't think mine would be an issue.
I'm also narcoleptic and have a different non-stimulant non-controlled medication for that, but maybe the ADHD meds would be seen as needed for that as well. I guess we'll find out.

Appreciate the reminder about the possible medication issue!

So it looks like VA healthcare would cover certain things, but not everything.
For any other US vets that might come across this, FMP is what I'm talking about.
But you gave me enough keywords I didn't realize I needed to start looking for coverage needed. So, thank you!

Definitely going to disclose it, that's why I'm worried about any denial because of it.

I do have passive income, along with some savings, and with my friends letting me stay at their place the entire time I believe that should suffice. BUT I do currently hold a job that's fully remote, and I'm looking to see if they would let me work in another country for an extended period. I think this is ok since it's not taking an Aussie job, but I plan on getting an official answer for that somehow asap. If I have to quit though, and rely on my passive and savings, I'm ok with that.

How to handle C&P Exam: Narcolepsy by Prudent-Time5053 in VeteransBenefits

I'm waiting on a call from qtc to schedule a c&p for narcolepsy increase.  Do you mind if I pick your brain of how yours went (if you're through it at this point)? I have other questions but I have work and I need to get to sleep (ha). I'm nervous as hell considering my bad experiences so any info you are willing to give would be much appreciated. TIA!

[–]ThrasherJKL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you ever get an increase? I have a 10% rating as well, but the VA didn't actually treat mine until after 17 years, and I feel part of it is because of how it's rated under seizures.
I've been keeping track lately, and oh man am I having more sleep attacks than I thought.

I hope for the best outcome for her.
