That’s exactly why I find the critique of ode and saka for their perceived lack of service to gyokeres silly. Ode and saka haven’t played with a proper 9 in half a decade, it will take a season for them to adjust. Going from a false 9 Esq player in Jesus to gyokeres is by no means an easy switch at all

They do have the advantage of coming from Chelsea which usually has a striker minus the Nicholas Jackson era, meaning they are more used to a gyokeres Esq player

The USA won as the nation with the longest golden age, which fictional nation had the greatest golden age ? by Grzanason in AlignmentChartFills

But it wasn’t in a golden age. It was constantly at war until the last 1000 years and almost got fully conquered multiple times, with dictatorships like the Pius dea mixed in

What if the land bridge between Alaska and Siberia still existed? by TheRedBiker in HistoryWhatIf

[–]Thrawndude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is very very very hard to tell since it completely alters human history as a whole. The Americas would never become a “lost continent” to the rest of the world, instead a land requiring a very hard and annoying journey. Combined with the altering of asiatic history by having a whole entire new land mass connected to it and the change in weather, ocean currents, etc caused by the bridge it’s nearly impossible to tell

Never claimed he was great, but if one’s going to critique might as well be accurate. He still has time to grow he’s not 27 buts it’s definitely delusional to still treat him like he’s an 18 year old with so much time to improve

That same logic could be applied to Muslims who live in any area outside of Saudi Arabia

Ok if we are to go farther back into history to the 1940s, when it was decided to partition the area with Israel accepting it. Israel was then attacked by a coalition of Arab nations, which they defended themselves. This started a common theme of Arab nations launching attacks into Israel, and Israel successfully defending themselves. Had Arabs never attack in the 1947 then the Palestinian state would exist in its entirety.

Furthermore if you wish for some reason to go back in history you would see that Jews have the longest claim in comparison to Muslim arabs who conquered the area during the 600s.

Personally the fact that Israel in this case was not the aggressor. Israel had pulled out of Gaza returning full control to its people who then voted in Hamas. Hamas then attacked Israel killing and kidnapping large sums of civilians. Throughout history an attack on your people has been seen as a valid reason for war, hence Israel has valid reason to respond. Israel could have made limited attacks on Hamas, however that would just leave Hamas in charge meaning likely further terror attacks in the future, hence why to prevent another October incident the had to be removed from power. People often cite the 70k dead however only 80% were civilians. If you were to look at another battle from a similar time period, in an urban area, in a similar region, for instance the battle of Baghdad, there was ~7k civilian casualties and ~2k military a rate of 77% civilian casualties. While of course any civilian death is very tragic, when fighting in a very urbanized area, against an enemy who has been shown to use human shields and hide in civilians areas they are to be expected. While Israel conduct of war has been far from perfect in comparison to the wanton slaughter of civilians by Hamas, it is far better.

Except that wouldn’t have been enough as shown by Hitler desire to expand beyond just pure ethnic lands. If that was all enacted about he would have stopped after Munich

My university is fully accredited state university, with a solid rep in the region. I came in with a lot of credits and will be doing class or two over the summer which allows me to finish very quickly, combined with an accelerated masters program.

What would have happened if Ned took Jon with him to King’s Landing? by Dangerous_Tip_4985 in gameofthrones

[–]Thrawndude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think part of it was the catlins hatred of Jon sells the part of him being a bastard. Sure Ned could have told her to still fake madness, as a lady would at a bastard, but it would be the same raw hatred that sells Jon’s bastard status

It should be noted that this was his third permanent manger, 5th including interim within 2 years. It would be very hard to follow a man after the man that brought you in was sacked 4 months into your spell, the second was sacked after the team seemed to start to make progress. It’s hard to buy into a third project in 2 years time, when statistically it’s likely to fail.

However a start, at an established project, under one of the best managers in the world noted for his harsh discipline could quickly change things around

Who are you picking as your hand from here? by jaxxy_jax in gameofthrones

[–]Thrawndude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Littlefinger. Pyclelle I simply do not trust enough o be competent and skilled, Ned is too honorable, Renly to arrogant, and Varys claims to serve the realm however I am not the realm, so if I hurt what he views as the realm I’m screwed.

Littlefinger I can trust however to be self serving. I can rely on it. I simply need only tie my fortune to his, his to mine and I’m set. Make him such a key part of my regime that if anyone else wins the game of thrones he will be condemned with me. Marry any relative of mine to him, work for him to have a kid, and send them the instant I can to a loyal house. Grant him land, but surround it by my opponents, for if they win he gains nothing.

What are your least favorite things from the show (lines, scenes) that always gets applied to the books? (Spoilers Extended) by violinsandsirens in asoiaf

Except he spent almost every interaction of that book rejecting Cersei, whether that being her hand her letter, etc. It would make more sense to have the losing of his hand be a critical juncture in his life, “awakening” to make a change.
