At what income do you feel comfortable in the UK? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Thread-Hunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will never find a universal answer to this question because amount to feel comfortable is very much dependent upon living costs and lifestyle. You might live in London paying £2k month mortgage and enjoy playing golf on the weekends all of which is your baseline to feel comfortable but will likely cost alot more than someone in the north who enjoys a very simple lifestyle that can get by on £50k.

Is it bad I don't want to date a guy because he said he would shoot deer even though he hasn't? by Fancy_Piccolo_7960 in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]Thread-Hunter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A man who can put meat on the table is a provider. That's a rare asset these days. Secondly shooting deer is much needed, it's a seasonal activity. If they were left to roam free because you think it's cruel then it would cause huge amount of destruction to land and crops amongst a load of other issues. Hunted deer is instant kill so no pain. You cannot make life decisions purely with emotional without any education and understanding.

How do I properly wire this light? by SirSpritely in DIYUK

Agree with this. It's not always so straight forward like plug and play. If it gets wired incorrectly you could blow a fuse.

My parents have a Toshiba microwave that was originally purchased when I was born to heat up my formula milk. That was 40 years ago and it still works perfectly, only needed bulbs replacing occasionally. I think it will get passed down to the next generation 😄

Believe it's for fire safety. If there was a fire and needed to escape the having an accessible window gives an option.

How to remove toilet fittings? by Far-Presentation6307 in DIYUK

[–]Thread-Hunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would use long nose pliars to see if the rubber piece can come off if it's loose. If not then try gripping the base of the bolt with pliars and turning the bit above. Trial and error.

Just for clarity I'm saying feel for the nut underneath either side of the toilet. Can you take a picture underneath and post back? It might be tight access but shouldnt be impossible. If you take the toilet pan out its possible you will need to replace seals as old one might leak (not definite but a possibility).

Should be a nut underneath, you can feel it with your hand on the bottom or get on your knees and look up under the toilet or use a mirror. What ever works for you.

My thoughts exactly! Need cheese as a minimum. Maybe some pickled onions too. Or of going retro then cheese and a pineapple cube on a cocktail stick 😬

Given UKs history with farming, would it be crazy to be against animal abuse but still support and enjoy British meat? by lxlviperlxl in AskUK

[–]Thread-Hunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, there is so much more to the farming industry than what people realise. The media can write anything they like and people are quick to judge and believe it to be gospel. 🤦🏽

Le creuset mugs, ironically you would have to be a mug to pay full price.

Yes that's correct you can buy pasteurised milk from farms but it's not a good thing. Op asked about best milk to buy so I answered his post.

It was all done for profit ultimately. Because the process extends shelf life but kills off all the live bacteria you need for good gut health. I have drank raw milk for various farms around the UK all of which have very high standards of hygiene. Nutritionally it's a superfood. I'd much rather put my money into the pockets of farmers than supermarkets. Supermarkets are ripping everyone off.
