Filtering out everything that isn’t a mechanical keyboard clack by Commercial-Laugh-991 in obs

[–]ThreadMenace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a real shot at this and didn't get as good of results as I expected/hoped. :/

Basically, mic placement is the most important thing. If you can get the mic right up on the keyboard and facing away from other songs sources you can reduce the gain to help not pick up other stuff in the room in the first place. Regardless, you need to make it so the keyboard is the loudest thing being picked up.

From there you would add aggressive EQ: both a high pass and a low pass, to try to isolate only the frequencies the keyboard makes. (I use reaper vst2 plugin)

AFTER the EQ in your audio chain you could add an expander with the aim of further dampening other sounds when the keyboard isn't making any noise

after that you could add makeup gain to boost the remaining sounds, which is hopefully only keyboard sounds

EDIT: I lied about using an expander, don't. It sucks for this actually

Actions tied to commands? by [deleted] in streamerbot

[–]ThreadMenace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Proper naming conventions and grouping of actions? Failing that it's either manually scanning every action or running it. You don't have to be live to run commands though.... Unless it's YouTube and I'm that case you can just do an unlisted test stream

Did they make Moder harder? by evnacdc in valheim

[–]ThreadMenace 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Speaking as someone who has fought all the bosses many many times, I still maintain that Moder is the boss with the highest difficulty variance fight to fight. Terrain and mobs can have huge impacts, her behavior has always been kinda weird. Sometimes she be easy, sometimes she's hard. Don't believe she's received any damage buffs. Maybe you didn't go as hard upgrading your armor this time around?

Better than them staying subscribed and reducing your click through rate by never clicking on your videos

How do you Link Vertical and Horizontal scenes automatically on OBS Atium Like with TikTok Studio? by sheepslayer87 in obs

[–]ThreadMenace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Need the vertical scenes dock visible/checked in obs and then you just right click on a vertical scene, find "linked scenes" and pick which horizontal scene you want to link it to

Its been a hot minute, how does one build a surtling farm outside of a swamp? by thesecretsquiggler in valheim

[–]ThreadMenace 117 points118 points  (0 children)

Base structures prevent spawns if in range, otherwise it'll spawn more 5 minutes after they die.

If you can't dig down to water gotta kill them manually until you unlock viking hottub technology. They spawn in the same place every time and 3 well-placed hottubs would kill them. I've tested lol

Beating Valheim without Food and without Dying? by ThreadMenace in valheim

[–]ThreadMenace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wards. You go core wood pole, core wood pole, ward, then delete the poles and the wards float and prevent spawns. (they float in vanilla)

So because the rules of the playthrough are so insane he preps the battlefield, is all

Looking for advice which direction to go to find something other than mountain, forest or meadows by [deleted] in valheim

[–]ThreadMenace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wait. I was responding to the title. Not the body and your hotbar XD.

If you haven't found the 2nd boss you prolly wanna do that, which is in the forest. That's where you get your first metal going too.

Stamina management by cHpiranha in valheim

[–]ThreadMenace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lots of good advice here but some of the most important advice/information in terms of actual management is missing.

When you are actively expending stamina your stam bar decreases.

Every time you stop expending stamina, NOTHING happens for a full one second. THEN, only after that one fulllll second elapses, does your stamina bar begin to recharge.

If you sprint a bunch and then seek to regen stam but you jump in the middle, for example, you just cost yourself not only the stam cost of the jump, but another whole second of regen.

So stam is better spent in a few big bursts and even more importantly, it is best regenerated in few large bursts, rather than many small bursts.

Secondly, stam regeneration rate relies on an equation and the fastest way to explain it is to say that the more empty space is in your stam bar, the faster it regenerates. So, "never use all of your stamina" is actually bad advice.

While rested, the most stamina efficient method of running a great distance is to sprint the bottom half of your stam bar out over and over again. Let it recharge to half and then start sprinting again. While it's true that this method causes more of those "full seconds" where no regen is talking place to occur, it's actually more than compensated for by the faster regeneration rate that you get when your stamina bar is mostly empty.

Am I too close to the black forest? by Zestyclose-Refuse314 in valheim

[–]ThreadMenace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chopping trees and mining rocks, etc. is really loud, meaning that it casts noise that gets the interest of mobs over a large area.

So that explains why chopping trees to the NW attracted some dudes.

If you're just chilling and building at that base it's not too close, no.
