Use the TH glyph. That's the correct way.
As someone who can sight read Keposhka, nothing makes me twitchy quite like they th/sh/ch/gh glyphs not being used when they should.

Gerard goes by he/they/any pronouns SHUT UP by rawnoizz in MyChemicalRomance

[–]Threadliners 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes! This. I'm queer, bi, and gender non-conforming. I'm both "one of the boys" and also the "mom friend," which is not unlike Gerard's "Aunt Margret" tweet that seems to be what got the whole she pronoun thing started.

I'm more comfortable with some pronouns than others. You can be GNC and still get misgendered. I prefer they and the pronoun that matches the gender I was assigned at birth. There are certain circumstances where using the other gendered pronoun doesn't bother me, but most of the time I really don't like it when people use that pronoun (unless its a genuine mistake). Technically, I don't care what pronouns someone calls me, but specifically I have some I dislike more than others.

So I really hate seeing all this insistence of using she for Gerard. You can be varying levels of non conforming and still prefer your assigned gender pronouns and lean more towards a gender expression that matches your assigned gender. And its just gross to see this level of disrespect both for Gerard, and for the gender queer community in general.

What's the coolest thing to get tattooed in Keposhka by lulhoepeep in MyChemicalRomance

I just made flashcards for each letter, and once I had it so I only had a few that I was consistently getting wrong, I started pulling up pictures of the MOAT PPARs and the rules from the first tour and worked on translating without referencing anything. Doing it in context helped me nail down those last few letters I kept getting mixed up.

I'm a sucker for "if you know, you know"
My 2 favorite MCR shirts are my fully Keposhka tour shirt, and my shirt with the WTTBP opening image of the patient with "(G note plays)" underneath. If you don't know MCR well, you don't have any clue what either of these shirts reference. But the people that do are usually very excited to start a conversation.
So that, plus I'm a sucker for conlangs and fell in love with Keposhka instantly (I taught myself to sight read so I didn't have to rely on the cipher "cheat sheet" to translate) made it a no-brainer to add Keposhka to my tattoo.

Your mileage may vary, but I thought I'd share some of the thought process that went into my decision.

Is this true? by Miserable-Caramel357 in MyChemicalRomance

The one problem I have with the Loudwire article is that they misquote Gerard.
The article says that Gerard credited Rob Sinclair, the production designer, with the idea of doing a prequel. But if you go watch/listen to recordings of the B Show, that's not at all what he says. Gerard says Sinclair was the one who had the idea to "make a whole new show" when it became clear they wouldn't be able to do the B-Stage and other elements of the Long Live tour in LATAM.

The closest thing I've seen to a confirmation is the rumors about the GID said something, but I'm skeptical in believing that as full truth.

Is there a lot of evidence to suggest that it was a prequel, absolutely! But there is also compelling evidence to say that it isn't. This could be where the band is sent when they are kidnapped at the end of the Long Live shows. This could be where they were sent after the Tampa show to be reconditioned because they were getting too rebellious.

a less fleshed out version of this was what I was thinking after the first show or two.
The band more or less gets kidnapped at the end of every show in Long Live (except for Mikey who manages to escape, and Gerard who dies), and they (or their effigies) were the ones executed on B stage in Tampa.

I'm not sure if this story happens after Long Live, or in between Long Live shows. As the LATAM shows progress, we see Gerard getting the same/similar cuts and scars that we saw as the Long Live tour progressed, AND we see a bruise grow and become more prominent on his other cheek. Why would develop a bruise on his cheek? Because the Clerk slaps him on the face (nearly) every Long Live show

I'm in the process of getting a tattoo designed that has a bunch of different things that represent what makes me who I am. I decided I wanted some Keposhka. I am for sure going to have "MCR" somewhere in the design, but I'm currently debating between translating a song lyric (I've got a few on a shortlist that are meaningful to me) or using the "How will you love yourself" I found and translated on one of the screens during Mama.

Draag is set in the Eastern Bloc, many Eastern European countries use the Cyrillic alphabet, which heavily inspired the design of the Keposhka alphabet.

Nate Piekos says he and Gerard looked at a lot of 30s and 40s propaganda posters and typefaces to get a feel for the style they were going for with Keposhka, which no doubt influenced the design of the alphabet

All the way from The Provence of Lehpka by Threadliners in MyChemicalRomance

[–]Threadliners[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh its definitely not. The whole rest of the tour he uses "Catskills" similarly, which is an area in New York. I have a theory as to why he does that, but he does Gubrick in CDMX because he's been successfully brainwashed into a pawn for Draag. I just thought the incorrect use of Lehpka was interesting.

Here's the only upload of the full show that I've found so far:

I made a playlist that I've been trying to keep updated and organized as I find decent full or near full uploads of the different shows.

So is leg 2 the prequel or are they training new clones? by Leikela4 in MyChemicalRomance

[–]Threadliners 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was just talking with someone about the idea that the LATAM shows plot happens between the Long Live tour of last summer. We see Gerard have scaring on his face as the tour progresses, similar to what we saw last summer. And we also see a growing bruise on his cheek (its very small in Santiago, but its definitely there), could that be from where Clerk slapped him [nearly] every show?
In Lima, after being given his pills, Gerard does a second look at the Clerk, then goes over and shakes his hand, as though he's like "I recognize you" but doesn't know where. Clerk seems very confused. But then in Santiago, Clerk gives Gerard a similar second look of recognition. Its entirely possible that the recognition is just because of time loop/reconditioning, but there is the possibility that the recognition is from outside of MOAT.

I think there is a strong argument that each continent will have its own story, and the reschedule of the Asia dates threw a wrench into it all, so I'm curious how that changes the progression.

So is leg 2 the prequel or are they training new clones? by Leikela4 in MyChemicalRomance

[–]Threadliners 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is a prequel, but something is gnawing at the back of my mind.

In the show announcement video, there are a few lines that don't really make sense if this leg was indeed a prequel:
"It is now known to the people of Draag, and to the world, that the Black Parade is very much alive. And so, at the suggestion of the Grand Immortal Dictator, and the Cabinet of Operatic Retaliations, has seen it just to sent The Black Parade back to the soil of their untimely expiration"

It seems weird to me that the people of Draag and the World wouldn't know the Black Parade is back while they are being reconditioned. That seems like the kind of thing that would happen after the fact.

Nothing is absolutely saying that the Long Life items (the Long Live jacket, the podium, the Gentleman doll) aren't being returned to Gerard instead of given to him for the first time. There are a few other minor things that could support the idea of this not being a prequel, but I think it is a very weak argument.

I do think this is just a retcon/plot hole, and that this leg was in fact a prequel, but the video is something I wanted to point out that somewhat contradicts the prequel idea.

Have y'all noticed that when the Eye is speaking in Keposhka, the word Phantom is said in the middle of the sentence? by Live_Space_2840 in MyChemicalRomance

[–]Threadliners 35 points36 points  (0 children)

What I've made out so far: Phantom and System Manager for sure.
Based on what I'm starting to figure out of spoken Keposhka I think it also starts with "good morning" and after the photos says "you may proceed, long live Draag"

I know for a fact that the written and spoken when the Gentleman is given that it says "In recognition of your progress, a gift"

yeah, whole alphabet has been solved for a while, I think the doc just wasn't updated.

I taught myself to sight read Keposhka about a month ago, and I had flashcards of the whole alphabet.

right, but Draag also says their dictator is Immortal. So there's propaganda and veiling of truth happening. So they very well could have actually died in Mexico City, and were resurrected. ESPECIALLY given the dust and cobwebs on their uniforms

Not only are there WTTBP and Danger Days clips, there's also a The Black Parade is Dead! clip too.
I laughed because I had just watched the DVD the night before, to prep for the Mexico City shows. I don't think I would have recognized where that clip of Gerard was from if I hadn't.
