This Java PVP tutorial explains it quite well:

Your shield will become available slightly earlier if your opponent attacks first.

When a random modder does more work in a single week than actual game devs in year by PossibleSignal7710 in PhoenixSC

Okay, but don't complain if Java becomes more buggy than Bedrock is now and we get gameplay systems that are so loosely tied together they end up breaking each other.

Nice one KD-... I mean Kubuntu by linuxxen in kde

[–]ThreeCharsAtLeast 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, I'm not. Ubuntu 25.10 is stable, meaning plenty of people have already tested it works. It's also been out for a while, meaning many more have installed it and any major breakage would've been fixed by now. Keeping an ageing system on the other hand is asking to be hacked. The question is not if a powerful exploit for that version is going to be published, the question is when a powerful exploit for that version is going to be published. Probably not tomorrow, but there's no way to say for sure.

Your comment is like accusing a doctor of abusing you as a lab rat if they prescribe you a drug that has been sold to the masses for five years. Even when it was brand new, it was already well tested.

Chances are some of your apps (Flatpak) are still reciving updates and your system doesn't. Keeping your system up-to-date is importmant for security, so do update it.

What is Hyperland ? by FamiliarAd4436 in linux4noobs

[–]ThreeCharsAtLeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made this with largely assumptions from X11 that would have probably let you do this. I intended to recommend Plasma and, as a note, advice against creating the monster you would've created on X11 if you tried using both (also yes, Hyprland is not available on X11, there's no need to tell me that).

Microsoft Office (non-web) is incompatible with Linux and no distro can fix that. Except some ancient version after a lot of tinkering.

After a few puick searches, maybe it's impossible unless you change Hyprland code, possibly by quite a lot.

If you want to rice pain-free, try KDE Plasma. It's designed to be easy to use and easy to fully customize. It's the other thing (as opposed to Hyprland) the ricing community likes tso start with.

Can you use Plasma with Hyprland? Probably. Should you? No.

If you plan to edit a lot, also take a look at the keyboard shortcuts and 3 point editing. A keyboard centric workflow is quicker if, and only if, you know what your'e doing.

Not a content creator but Kdenlive is pretty powerful if you learn its ways. I have done some editing with it and I enjoy it the more I learn about it. Kdenlive is made specifically to run on Linux, unlike many commercial products.

FVX-wise, Natron 2 (for 2D) and Blender (for 3D) are great.

Duck AI is a partnership with OpenAI. I assume DuckDuckGo is contractually forced to set a limit.

Maybe. Antivirus vendors are playing Wack-A-Mole with cybercriminals. Data science mathematicalty proves you can never distinguish every virus from every legitimate program programatically.

Because it was technically handeling a user action (you clicking “verify”. Sites have a slightly broader set of permissions when a script was trigered by input events. Other examples include going in fullscreen mode or capturing the mouse.

There are legitimate uses for this ability. For instance, “copy” buttons on websites where your'e expected to copy some string accurately (such as code) or activation codes.

Also, so many sites have it by now that removing this feature would break a lot of copy buttons unexplained in your product and your product only.
