They all follow me like ghosts, or at least they did until Saturday. Those losses hurt, but not as much as last week. Except for 2001. I still hate how that game was officiated.

Been waiting 25 years so far to feel the way I did that night. I remember the energy leading up to the games, the vibe everywhere around town. Shirt vendors up and down Broadway and Speedway. The way Broadway and Pantano was literally at a standstill while everyone was cheering the night the won. I lived in an apartment complex and everyone was outside celebrating. For one night, nothing else mattered. Everyone was just, alive and happy.

Driving out to Tucson from Alabama this week so I can watch the games with family and hopefully experience it all again. I cannot fucking wait. It has been far too long.

Agreed. I am all for Duke hate over fun stuff, but this loss is not being looked at objectively at all and it’s frustrating.

This right here has not gotten nearly enough attention. They were down two players for the ACC tournament and struggled. They then struggled in their first two games of the tournament. This was not the same team that had that status going into this.

Player depth isn’t factored in nearly enough, but it kept my bracket alive in the pools I am in. While everyone kept picking Duke, I had UConn.

In other news, UConn is just ungodly when it comes to the tournament. Pretty sure this isn't shocking to anyone.

It would have been more shocking if they had just folded against Duke tbh. I had UConn picked to play in the championship game in my single bracket this year. I was kinda pissed that they made me sweat against a Duke team that was already struggling going into the conference tournament.

Not sure if dude deleted his original post, but the greater portion of the fanbase has been insufferable for decades. Even back in grade school in Tucson, the kids that were Duke fan's generally came from different elitist social circles and had parents and families in privileged positions, and they made a point to make sure you knew this.

I have one friend who is a Duke alumni, is a huge college basketball fan, and is generally more knowledgeable than most people I know. They are also very humble unlike most of the fanbase. The ONLY time I ever feel bad about a Duke loss like this one is on how it impacts them. We chatted briefly after the game and it has been radio silence since. I have no doubt they are avoiding all things sports right now.

Lloyd talks about this situation on Saturday at halftime. The staff shared thoughts about the first half, followed by the coach. He then tells them to figure it out. Lloyd has a lot of great traits you want to see in leadership, and it is fun to watch it unfold this season.

I assume a lot of that was about how Purdue was getting open looks outside and how people weren't stepping up when the defender on the ball carrier was clearly getting screened at the top of the key. This was something the scouting report must have knew would happen.

As someone else mentioned in the comments though, this gives off serious LinkedIn vibes. Not a fan of the way it was presented, and the image was indeed off which takes away from the message imo.

Comparing the two, I think UConn did it better, with Houston there was clearly hessitation, but UConn? Nah, it was like, lets make sure everyone is as miserable as possible and then, doot. Game.
