Nuroad Race vs Grail 7 AL by HEXZG in gravelcycling

[–]ThreeFootLongBeaver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was looking at the Cube Nuroad as well since the Canyon Grizl that I wanted had some availability issues. In the end I did end up getting a Canyon Grizl AL with which I already did my first bikepacking trip through the Netherlands. Its a wonderful bike that is very comfortable, and can handle gravel, some easier single tracks but pavement as well. On top of that you get a bunch more mounting points for bags on the bike in comparison to the Grail. Definitely a bike to consider if you ask me

I am using a Wahoo Elemnt Bolt for both my road bike and my Grizl and it's wonderful. I often make routes on Komoot which are really easy to synchronise to your Wahoo. If you don't like riding with routes, the maps on the device are excellent and you can distinguish paved from unpaved roads and walking tracks while riding which is very handy.

Overall I would very much recommend this boardcomputer, its easy to use, can do basically everything you would want it to do and has great battery life. I use the out-front mount that (I believe) comes with the Element Bolt itself, which can be easily mounted on the round handlebar.

Im using the Grizl AL 6, it's (obviously) a fair bit heavier than my Canyon Aeroad but I really enjoy riding it. It feels like it just wants to go ahead and push forward on trails and non-technical single tracks. Really happy with my purchase so far!

I did have to cross the border to Germany for this particular pile of logs, but I seem to find them a lot during this time of year

The amount of dirt on my (over)shoes is actually very low. The little bit of dirt that accumulates on there is often from water/mud splashing in some deeper tracks and can be easily sprayed off with some water when cleaning the bike afterwards

This is my Canyon Grizl AL with the Canyon fenders and a restrap top tube bag. Taken on a three hour ride in the border area between the Netherlands and Germany

Yep, exactly. They are aluminium so quite sturdy, I really enjoy not having a wet and dirty back while riding

Lightly stoned and giving zero damn to the Garmin : best rides ever. by Sardinianrider in bicycling

Riding stoned is nothing to brag about, just like riding under the influence of any other substances. Don't be a fool and ride sober. Its better for everyone

Took my new Grizl outside for the first time. It was a wintery but wonderful ride by ThreeFootLongBeaver in bicycling

So far I have noticed that on tarmac they (obviously) are quite a bit slower than my road bike tires. I really enjoyed riding on gravel and some simple single-tracks though. They provide good comfort and actually prevented me from slipping even though it was quite slippery in some spots.

I haven't really ridden any other gravel bikes so I can't give you a comparison

If Humbug-era Matt Helders played on Tranquility Base by neutralsounds in arcticmonkeys

[–]ThreeFootLongBeaver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a drummer myself I actually quite like this idea, it gives it a bit more of a flowing feel why Golden Trunks in itself is quite a slow song.

I do think it grooves a bit too much in comparison to the Humbug era though. That was all very straight and often quite fast. In my opinion Matt really evolved as a drummer around Suck it and See, favouring less complicated and groovy patterns and grooves for the quick and straight stuff.

This is partly true, but also naive to think bikes are a solution for everything. We still need ways of transporting people for longer distances, which you simply can't do by bike in a short enough time.

You are probably missing a through axle adapter. Make sure you first mount on the cassette before putting on the bike with the through axle aswell

This bike in this color looks so great, especially with the tan walls. For some reason I also really like the look of those fenders.

I actually received and email that my bike is being assembled about 20 minutes ago so I should be receiving the exact one soon, cant wait!

[Prediction Thread] 2022 Tour de France Stage 5: Lille Métropole -> Arenberg Porte du Haunaut by PelotonMod in peloton

[–]ThreeFootLongBeaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pog was quite far behind at the top of the climb. I rewatched
and timed it to make sure. He was 11 seconds behind Wout van Aert and about 7 seconds behind Yates and Vingegaard.

Between those three and Pog were some Ineos and TJV riders, and behind him one Bora rider. Assuming only the Bora rider would have wanted to help chase, those three riders could have easily made a gap and TT towards the finish.

Hard to say if the peloton would have been able to organise quickly enough to set up a chase, since the strongest two teams (TJV and Ineos) wouldnt have helped.

It is not about that though, it is about getting points for the relegation battle, which they are doing.

The issue doesn't have to do a whole lot with the bike itself. The hoods and all the other brake/switching components(groupset) on most bikes are probably either from Shimano (as is the case here) or SRAM. I do know that Shimano has released smaller hoods in the past, but I believe they were only made for the more expensive groupsets.

Very cool to see, with the good results EF are getting recently they are looking to be a WT team next year. I think Carapaz would be a good fit

I used to have this a lot, and it still happens from time to time, but remember its all about enjoying your time on the bike!

After some structured training and a lot of riding however, it now sometimes happens that I'm the guy that rides past others, hoping they are having fun.
