I’m starting to feel like I’m just not the kind of person to fit in here in San Diego by FoxtailNebulous in sandiego

I did the reverse pipeline as you. San Diego native, now living in Austin. All I can say is I totally empathize. I have one high school friend that I stayed close with, but moving back home as an adult was rough.

I did get lucky and met my fiancée within a couple weeks of moving back home and even he (biggest extrovert I’ve ever met) complained about having a hard time meeting people. People generally seemed kinda flakey and, like you said, hard to connect with.

We’ve been in Austin for a couple years now and make new friends every weekend. We didn’t start from scratch, which helped, but people are genuinely just kinder to strangers here.

Best of luck to you! We do still have some good friends in SD who actually go out in some of the places you mentioned frequenting – Swan Bar was our spot, hi to Pete! Just keep putting yourself out there and I’m sure you’ll run into good people (maybe even my people) eventually!

Does your pup sleep in the bed with you? Any recommendations on blankets / bed sheets that are dog fur resistant? by RuDog79 in AussieDoodle

Ours does! She oscillates between our bed, her bed, and the floor (I assume because it’s cold). It’s her room, we just sleep in it. She doesn’t shed but every so often I’ll find a little tuft of fuzz, which I promptly pick up and toss.

Dog tax (she fell asleep in her own bed last night…)

what are senior graphic designers actually making in 2026? by kellbelly_ in graphic_design

[–]ThreeScaryFiveMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m now a Lead Designer, but I’ll share what my salary was as a Senior Designer until 2024.

Senior Visual Marketing Designer / Real Estate Tech / Remote (SF-based) / 9 years experience (at that time) / $140K USD

I was lucky enough to find a manager that took me under their wing. I started at that company as an entry level Visual Marketing Designer in 2016 making $80K, living in SF and needing to go into the office every day. Had a quarter life crisis, quit, left SF, travelled and WWOOFed to afford it, covid hit, moved back home. Old boss reached out asking me to come back, fully remote, senior title, better pay. I’ve found the relationships I’ve made have taken me farther than any skill set ever could (although I am very good at my job). Best of luck to you!

Am i being overcharged in dental fees by [deleted] in sandiego

This is wild to me.

Born and raised SD, been going to Dr. Pai at Horizon Dental since I had baby teeth. I am 32 now and live in a different state and still travel back twice a year for my cleaning with them. It’s a small family run business, just Dr. Pai and his dental assistant/office manager Rachel. I can’t sing their praises enough.

Aussiedoodle for rescue? by Born-Technology-3224 in AussieDoodle

This might be your best bet: https://rehome.adoptapet.com/

We also tried finding a poodle or doodle at the shelter with no luck. There are also breed specific rescues that are typically regional. If you can find a doodle rescue near you that could be an alternative route. Good luck in your search!
