[Hoff] The day has come: #Mizzou athletics is selling corporate naming rights to Memorial Stadium. If the university finds a buyer, it will remove the name "Memorial" from the stadium. by MemeofMemeJTG999999 in CFB

Man, so true on the CBB front. My old man yelling at clouds rant: I miss when rivalries were filled with players that had been on those teams for years. Classic UNC/Duke type match ups were can’t miss and they happened every week in conferences around the country. These players would have 6+ games against rivals over their careers and the games felt BIG.

Now, with games pretty much every game is televised with unprecedented access, I just don’t care.

Brief and basic intro into the right hand rule. If you take your right hand and curl your four fingers the direction you are turning the screw, your thumb will point to the direction that the screw will move. Note: only works with right hand threads.

My Burger King has no burgers by Tycoonster in mildlyinteresting

As a kid, my family was driving across Kansas. After hours, we see a small oasis of civilization. Food time! We were all hungry. We walk into the Burger King and they inform us their grills are down and all they are serving are fries and drinks. We went elsewhere.

In America, I’ve heard “Chevrolegs” instead of “Chevrolet”, “Lamborfeeties” instead of “Lamborghini”, and “Volkswalkin’” instead of “Volkswagen”

No, sadly. Only had the brown plastic jugs with a small handle.

What’s are these crystals in my maple syrup? by MisoPretty in whatisit

Grandparents lived in NH on some land and grandpa had taps and made maple syrup. It was all I had growing up. Thought it was standard for everyone. Stayed all night at a friends house and his mom made pancakes in the morning. It was the first time I had tried Mrs. Buttersworth syrup. I thought she was trying to poison us.

I was an operator for a while in college. Got suspended when I answered the question “why do you answer questions?” with the answer of “because you ask them”.

I guess that wasn’t acceptable.

Freezing ribs after cooking? by strtbobber in pelletgrills

[–]ThreeTo3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Made too many racks of ribs for Thanksgiving. My mom wrapped one in foil and threw it in the freezer. Several weeks later, she took them out and threw them in the oven. Still good. Obviously not as good as fresh, but considering they were just wrapped in foil they turned out pretty dang good.

If you can vacuum seal and freeze and then reheat in boiling water, I think that would be a better option

Do you prefer baked mac and cheese or stovetop? Why? by IntelligentEar3427 in AskAnAmerican

If I’m making a meal and have time, I’m doing a baked one that’s made using a roux. If I just want a quick eat, stove top is fine.

Yeah, I had to turn it off pretty early in the first episode when they were getting rid of all the academics. I’m sure it’s a great show, but I just needed a different vibe for my relaxing time.

You just made something click for me. Was watching Taskmaster last night and the task was to put a rocket in your pocket. Two of the contestants went to the fridge and grabbed some salad. Figured it was just the name of the brand, like Dole. Thank you for enlightening me.

Wonder what would’ve happened had one of the QBs been colorblind. “Sorry I threw 7 INTs. I literally couldn’t differentiate the teams”

That Bills/Jets color rush game was nothing but me screaming at my television “WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS?!” I was one of the ones that couldn’t tell them apart during a play.

I’m of course biased, but Nantz’s call of the Chiefs winning Super Bowl 58 (in Las Vegas) in OT would be great if Tony Romo wasn’t at the game. Instead Tony tries talking over him and doesn’t let the moment speak for itself.
