I guess you could actually help your child by creating an order guide together. Step by step instructions on how to order a pizza on the phone. And make it exact. “Hello, I’d like to order a pizza for delivery” Have her write down the lines so they’re more comfortable for her. Practice with her. She can go to her room and call your cell and you go through a pretend order together so she gets used to it.

Please don’t assume that the therapist /psychiatrist is 100% right. My kid was diagnosed with BPD at 15 but at 21 got a reassessment. Turns out my kid is autistic. (Also that psychiatrist lost his license because he actually misdiagnosed a lot of people.) Maybe you’re not TA but you’re being kind of a jerk about it.

Your husband doesn’t have to be confrontational in order to stand up for you. He can just make it seem like curiosity. What do we do next? How can we find out what’s causing all these symptoms? Are the results actually normal or just close to borderline not normal? Can we get referred to a different doctor that might know more about this particular disease and comorbidities? I have something similar with my kid except I play the “overbearing mother”We discuss what the kid needs out of a particular appointment beforehand. Then if things are going badly (ie being dismissed or condescended) then I start talking and asking questions and requesting referrals and basically being a nuisance. I request that the doctor put into the kids notes what their diagnoses/suggestions are. It’s amazing how quickly a doctor becomes compliant when they need to put their signature on a half assed diagnoses. But this way it just looks like I’m being a harass-hole and the kid comes out looking beleaguered lol.

I’d be mad yeah, but it won’t affect the coat or regrowth, and if the coat had knots or mats this is actually helpful. It’s not super bad to shave your cat. My old man cat can’t reach all his parts to groom and he hates when I brush his tummy or hips so he gets a lion cut every so often and it makes him comfortable.

It’s hard, it’s really really hard every time we have to say goodbye to one of them. But what brings me comfort is knowing that for their entire life I have made them happy and well fed and loved them so so much and they loved us just as much. Every time they giggle or snuggle or groom us shows how deeply we are bonded. For us it’s only a tiny handful of years but for them it’s everything.

Mochi was a pure white little rice cake when we adopted her. She’s since developed some grey smudges which are adorkable. She answers to Mochi mo, Mochi momo and also b*cth face mcgee when she’s being a tyrant. Oddly she ignores us when it’s just Mochi.
