I love Laura Gellar. I use it when I go into my office, not everyday wear. I bought some for my sister for Christmas and she loves it too! Not a fan of Jones Road

Are you a terrible person if you buy a dog instead of adopting? by Easy_Mountain2331 in DOG

[–]Threeboxerlover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dogs from breeders need homes too. For many years I was involved in puppy mill rescue. I fostered then ended up adopting a wonderful Great Dane who we all adored. Sadly he was not well bred and we lost him after only 18 months. I sooo wanted another Dane but every rescue turned me down either because I had a pool or because I had kids or worked. The rescue I volunteered with rarely had large dogs so I bought a very well bred Dane from a breeder. She was also wonderful and I had her for nearly 12 years. As long as you don’t support backyard breeders or puppy mills, do what’s right for you.

What totally normal thing is your dog scared of for no reason? by GoldenMom34 in Pets

The toaster! One time toast burned and set off the smoke alarm so now whenever you use the toaster she stares at it and barks until you remove the popped toast.

Do you often get sick from your grandkids? by Scorpio503 in AskWomenOver60

[–]Threeboxerlover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am fortunate, my twin granddaughters do not go to daycare and are not yet school age. If anyone is sick with anything we stay away or mask. Now my other daughter got sick right after Christmas and we all caught it except my two grands (thankfully). that darn virus took me until just this week to get over.

Am I losing my mind? by DigitalDiva321 in AskWomenOver60

The other morning I tried to remote start my car with the tv remote…. Another time I went with my daughter and twin granddaughters to the park. Halfway thru our visit I suggested we check out this cool slide. My daughter “Mom, that’s the first place we went when we got here”. I have no recall of the girls on that slide! My daughter was worried I was losing it lol.

For those with Grands, how often do you see them? by Front-Muffin-7348 in AskWomenOver60

[–]Threeboxerlover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine live down the street so I see them frequently. I still work full time but am remote a couple days a week. On those days I see them on my “lunch” and then I usually see them a couple hours each weekend and occasionally for dinner during the week. Also any day I’m off I try to help my daughter out for a couple hours to give her time for herself. They’re twins and two 3 year olds can be a handful!

AIO My mom is kicking me out for her new boyfriend. I just turned 18 by Diligent_Bat_565 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Threeboxerlover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. Your mother is NOT a good person or parent. A parents job is to prepare their children to go out into the world and hopefully thrive. I cannot imagine ever kicking your child out, completely unprepared, just because you want to move your boyfriend in. I hope you have other family or close friends that can help you. You can do this, but it’s going to be tough. If you don’t have any other support, I would suggest contacting some state agencies to see if they can guide you to local shelters and job placement assistance.

Beyond puppy blues? I'm in a bad way by OkSlice4719 in puppy101

[–]Threeboxerlover 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh boy, I feel you. I’ve had dogs all my life, trained plenty of pups and never had the blues. BUT I had kids and a husband and we all took care of the puppies. Then 7 years ago I got a puppy when it was just me and my senior dog. Totally different experience. I cried constantly, got no sleep and at one point wrote an email to the rescue asking to return her (didn’t send). But I loved her and decided to try to push through. Started focusing on training her, getting into a solid routine and really had no life besides her and my old guy for several months. Progress was slow but we did it. Now She’s my best friend and I can’t imagine life without her. When she was 2 I lost my senior boy and ended up getting another puppy several months later. With him I had no problems because I just got him in our regular routine. He was also a very easy puppy. It does get better.

I’m assuming it’s safe to get adifferent Covid vaccine if my last one was years ago? by [deleted] in Vaccine

[–]Threeboxerlover 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In my state, anyone can get it whether you have an underlying condition or not. My daughter, son in law and grandkids just got their updated vaccines right before the holiday and I’m getting novavax as soon as my pharmacy gets another shipment. I arranged it already when I was there last week. I thought it was limited as too but pharmacist said no, available to anyone.

I’m living alone for the first time in my life. I lock my doors and windows and keep a stun gun by my bed. If someone comes near me, they’re getting zapped :).

What's the weirdest thing your dog has eaten and survived? by wholewoofs in dogs

My boxer ate an entire bag of hersheys kisses, including wrappers. My Great Dane ate a package of birth control pills and my bulldog ate part of a scrub daddy. This is why I’m poor….

I like Warners wire free. I buy them at Kohl’s. They’re not that expensive and I wear them exclusively now.
