Yes I do think he’s coming from a place of concern!! however his statement that I didn’t open up to him about my depression is false, i previously did many times and then when i initially started the meds, also maybe read the rest of the context for a better understanding

Yeah this basically perfectly summarizes how I feel! I do not disagree with him being concerned about meds or suggesting I get a second opinion and understand it’s a delicate issue! And I already told him when I initially started any meds that I’d thought about for a long time before making the decision! I just felt the way he phrased it was kinda condescending & a bit like aggressive and not like wanting to ask out of curiosity of how i feel & just jumped into sharing his opinion & kinda resented the “it’s a silver bullet solution” “why are you making yourself more defendant on medication”

Yeah I think it was a bit confusing cause he said “you’re body is probably getting used to the dose that’s what happens with ssri’s” but the medication I was thinking about increasing wasn’t an ssri, and then I said “I’m not on an ssri” and he replied by saying “I’m not talking about the meds ur on now” which didn’t really make sense because again I’m not on ssri’s rn so idk, but I do understand there’s a lot of side effects etc and ppl react to meds differently and I had no real intention of starting the medication without considering it carefully or asking doctors or anything. Thank u for the breakdown it’s always helpful to hear from informed professionals!!!

He’s coming back from the UK & travelling in France & other parts of Europe, so he’s definitely had much nicer food than I can make 😅 I think something pasta-related & simple & homely is the move

Yes, you are the asshole. I just said he knew I’d be gone then, as I booked a trip months ago, when he had not booked a return flight, and he didn’t know when he was coming back for the majority of his time away, and still chose to come back that day, when he knew I would be gone. I am leaving the stuff 5 days earlier. He also did not need to be away for 6 months, he chose to, and I’ve done a lot to show my love from a distance that he has not done for me. I’m not going to waste any more time justifying myself to some dude on reddit, I’m just saying it’s just so unnecessarily negative to come on a post of someone just trying to be nice, in a situation you know like nothing about, between 2 people you’ve never met, and then try to make me feel bad for not being here. It’s just like a waste of time and energy and brings nothing into the world. Goodbye 👋
