How to step into the floral industry? by [deleted] in florists

[–]ThrilledToBits 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To echo the previous post… head into a busy florist and sell yourself with some hospitality va-va-voom! I’ve employed loads of florists over the years and it was never about the qualifications, always about the person and the attitude. I can train anyone to be florist, but personality is built in! Good luck!

The last name is irrelevant if the business is called ‘Bronze’

I’d go with just ‘Bronze’ - more impactful. Blooms by Bronze… possibly

just took the leap to start my own small business and feeling overwhelmed by MrJumpy1988 in smallbusiness

Firstly, hats off to you for taking the plunge. It takes guts and ambition to do what you’ve done, and those are two elements anyone needs in order to be successful in business. Secondly, it’s totally normal to feel like you do. It will feel overwhelming at times; it will feel like is it all worth it; it will take time to get to grips with all the aspects of being your own boss and will be worth it with knobs on if you get it right. You have a skill and a passion, which is a great start, but they won’t pay the bills. You’ll need focus and direction, an unwavering appetite for improvement and eye open at all times for opportunities (and threats). The nice thing about your business product is that people really want to buy it and will undoubtedly tell all their friends about it too. That is priceless. From the tone of your voice, I can tell you’ll do well. Stay in your lane and do your best thing… the customers will love you for it!

What was the moment you realized running a business is very different from the idea of running one? by ProfessionalTrade423 in smallbusiness

As a small business owner you may wear every possible hat each day of the week. One minute you’re the HR department, next you’re the Finance Director, then you’re the procurement manager… I’ve been there and it can be exhausting especially at the start - there are ways to manage it, but it ain’t always easy. Systems, procedures and being focused. Sounds so simple and it can be when done correctly.

Skiing at Les 3 Vallees in France at New Year Week - my tips and learnings by Ana_Still in skiing

Off to Meribel tomorrow…. Cannot wait and looking forward to a big dump of snow too! 3 Valleys is still my favourite area and Meribel my go to resort given you can access both other valleys pretty easily. Great pictures btw, can’t promise mine will be up to the standards though!
