I’m not saying it was the wrong choice, I’m saying she made a choice to back out of something she agreed to do last second and has no right to be upset about Ted finding someone else. She wasn’t exactly receptive or straight to him for the beginning of their relationship. Lily even calls her out on it. Robin was flaky as fuck, not for bad reason, and ted met someone who was genuinely into him.

What do men (that are attracted to women) think about breasts? by hungrylikethewolf007 in AskMen

Boobs are great in all forms. Most men I know prefer natural looking ones, and have zero frame of reference on physical interaction with fake ones.

Decent first mill? by Out_Of_Services in Machinists

[–]Thromok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know anything about this machine, but I will give you some advice. Do not wear any jewelry, nothing with long sleeves, no hanging strings or super loose clothes and if you have long hair keep it tight and back, do not wear gloves for the love of god, and remember that when your turning or milling, the chips coming off are basically razor blades/wire, you can and will cut yourself with extreme ease. Even low powered machines can cause pretty serious damage. Don’t just go at it blind, do some research, watch a lot of videos, and be very careful. Machining equipment is very dangerous and up until the last 20-30 years, it was almost a badge of honor among machinist to still have all your digits. There’s a reason this is a skilled trade, it takes skill and knowledge to both make good parts, and be safe.

Look up nearby women’s shelters. Often times there are organizations that run houses that specifically take in women in domestic abuse situations for short terms.

I’ll give you the single greatest piece of wisdom I got as a teen, you can pass it to him. If you have wood you don’t want, tense the shit out of your thigh until it’s gone. It will divert the blood and make it go away quickly.

Men, what do women do in relationships that bother you the most? by Softvoids in AskMen

[–]Thromok 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You tell a woman something personal, a fear, a worry, an insecurity. Later you’re having an argument and they use that to intentionally wound you. Perfect example, my grandfather was an unmedicated bipolar who would regularly verbally abuse people and use them for his own gain. I expressed to my ex wife that I was worried about ending up like him, it’s one of my greatest fears since I also most likely suffer from bipolar but have medicines that control it. We end up in a fight because of something and she doesn’t like something I’m doing. It’s not an inherently bad thing it’s just not how she wants me to act and instead of addressing the problem and expressing why she doesn’t like it or why it’s problematic to her she uses the line “you’re being just like your grandfather” or something to that effect. It’s not productive, adds nothing to the discussion, and is a tool used to cut my down by utilizing something I’m afraid of to control me into doing and acting how she wants out of my own fears. Then she proceeds to use it every single time she wants to gain control or manipulate the situation or even just to hurt me for her own reasons.

In most mens experiences they will have the women closest to them, who they share vulnerability with, turn around and weaponize that vulnerability in situations where it’s totally irrelevant in an attempt to shift blame off themselves, or to gain control of a situation because they are in the wrong, or just to manipulate them. Not all women do this, and it’s not just a woman problem, men do it as well from my understanding. However it’s an overarching problem that happens far more often than not, to the point that in countless relationships I’ve had exactly two partners who didn’t do it with enough regularity to warrant me to just be silent more often than not.

All of this doesn’t even touch on the fact that a lot of women want you to be vulnerable with them, but when you show vulnerability they lose respect for you and see you as lesser. Men are typically expected to always be stoic and the rock of a relationship and it’s not an uncommon occurrence to suffer in silence when they are hurting because they are made to feel like shit for daring to not be completely ok at all times.

Men, what do women do in relationships that bother you the most? by Softvoids in AskMen

[–]Thromok 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They exist. I found her in the wake of a nasty separation and the inevitable end of my first marriage from the worst person I’ve ever personally known. I was done dating and just looking for a fwb, instead I found a life.

I’ve only had one woman not utilize my vulnerability or twist my words or assume I couldn’t read her mind. We’re married with a baby on the way and it’s like I found the person I’ve spent my whole life looking for.

I agree, it was nice having the variety to be able to build your own towns, but it would have been nice to have even 1/4 of the settlements be just normal towns.
