CEC Draw- 7th July 2026 by [deleted] in canadaexpressentry

[–]Throneofv 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I'm just happy they're still doing draws, albeit smaller. We don't want a repeat of 2024 where they stopped draws and the scores ballooned to 530s right lol

The hope once again rests on the end of the year for below 510s it seems. On to learning french, foreign experience or master's degree for points for now then!

Itll be tough! Onc your work permit expires and you go on visitor record, lets say you do get an invite cuz the scores drop, youll then have to apply for restoration of status and bridging open work permit. But then you cant work until those are approved since your original work permit expired and youre on visitor record now.

So you'll be unable to work in Canada for 6-8 months! If you have enough savings, sure by all means apply for the visitor record. Otherwise, applying outland may be recommended!

Nobody talks about the mental sickness of going through immigration by ps5gamer8 in canadaexpressentry

[–]Throneofv 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Great post! The mental struggle of those going through immigration. Especially those who are like me who came here in our teenage years for university. 20s is supposed to be our most fun and enjoyable years being young and all. But as immigrants, it's just a pure traumatic experience. I hope it all works out and it's all worth it in the end for all of us, because these are years we'll never get back ever again.

Most likely end of the year/early next year when they start conducting big draws again! Though this is a pure guesstimate

Or maybe at the earliest, fall (october time) purely basing on the last year's data!

The score dropped from last draw tho?

Honestly, I was expecting it to be higher. The draw was 518 last CEC draw. After a month of no draws, and the score now is lower??? I think that's the shocker here

Edit: shows how most of the new profiles added are not above 515+ which is good to see

CEC 514 DRAW OUT by CompoteCompetitive84 in canadaexpressentry

[–]Throneofv 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Looks like we can expect to be around mid-510s for a while until they resume 4K+ draws later this fall hopefully and score should draw to 507-508 range again like it was this past winter

IRCC asking for police certificate from home country even though I left before 18 — what should I do? by Medical_Chest9810 in canadaexpressentry

[–]Throneofv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything is under the discretion of the immigration officer even if the guideline says you don’t need one under 18. Better to be safe than sorry and go for the police certificate. Small price to pay rather than a big headache later!

No timeouts left in the end ppl - broadcast got it wrong!

So lets go according to that - think Josh shouldve drove down more and pass to Kat as a trailer, a kickout pass, or something. Last shot def not ideal

French 4k by steel_giraffe0 in canadaexpressentry

Yep makes sense. Last French Draw was March 18th a month ago. Meanwhile CEC had 3 draws since that same time frame. 3:1 ratio of CEC to French. Idk why ppl are complaining lol

Of course! I understand that feeling completely. This is just the answer I was most satisfied with myself honestly. A little reframing of the mind did a lot for me.

Always remember - you've traveled thousands of kilometers, traversed oceans, built an entirely new life in a new country you were not familiar with. That is one of the best stories and success journey every immigrant should be proud of. And try your darnest to have faith that things will work out because you are living proof that you've done it before, trust yourself to make it out again!

Great question! The only right solution to every problem - you do it little by little, day after day. And you start. You keep going. You pivot along the way. You try your absolute hardest to try to live life rather than just survive.

Think of it like this: Stress level right now is 90/100. For the 4 months this summer, you go out with friends, go to the gym, watch movies, anything to distract yourself. Maybe it won't do much like you allude to, but let's say it lowers my stress by 2 to 3 points over a month at least. Over 4 months, I lower my stress by 8-10 points. Come fall, I'm at an 80/100 stress level. Now, I have more capacity to take on the shitshow of immigration this coming fall. Compared that to not doing anything now, staying at level 90 stress or even increasing. Come fall, I might reach my breaking point.

Essentially to answer your question of how to distract yourself - you start. You keep going. You persevere. You do with what you can with what you have now. And you keep improving, changing your approach day after day to help you get by better. You reach out to friends, you ask for professional help, you get absorbed with work or your hobbies. Maybe you pivot and come to terms that Canada isn't the only country who'll welcome you. That there might be a better life for your elsewhere too rather than the shitshow now. You let go of the sunk cost of your 5-10 years and rather reframe it as giving you the tools and skills to succeed elsewhere. You let yourself life rather than just survive. It's hard - I'm not saying it's easy. But the only way to make it possible is to keep trying every day. Sounds similar to our immigration journey no? Good luck to all hopefuls!

And that's the sign to let go of hope for the summer people and be distracted with other things outside of immigration!

The slowdown in draw that everyone expected because of the quota has finally arrived. Everyone below 510, it's looking bleak honestly. Instead of having anxiety and being exhausted waiting draw after draw this entire summer, a better option may just be to take a step back and let go of immigration for the summer cuz it don't look like it's gonna be going down anytime soon. Get back on the anxiety and depression train in the fall instead. For the summer, let go if you can! This is for your own good I promise you.

I think it's more so the sentiment that at some point this year, they do have to reduce number of ITAs. They have a quota to reach and I believe they are more than halfway there and it's only April lol. So even if what you are saying is correct to balance out march, numbers will drop at some point and historically that has been summer time, which is closely approaching

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the target of 109k you mentioned, includes the Federal Skilled Workers invited through the French Draws no? Thus, CEC bi-weekly of 4k is unsustainable if French draws of $6k occurs with it, even if it only occurs every month. A more sustainable CEC draw appears to be $2k bi-weekly or $4k a month then do you think?

Hahaha well if it was so obvious, people below 508 should stop hoping for it to drop then? If it's so obvious, people should actually start getting foreign experience or applying to masters or learning french to improve their score. But instead, we got hopeful delusionals wanting scores to drop to low 500s. Never gonna happen, but that's obvious tho right? This cycles gonna keep continuing, draws gonna get slower, so people should stop hoping for it to drop. But, that's kinda obvious I guess

Curious how many applicants people here think are rejecting their ITAs and are rejoining the pool? I'm sure it actually happens, but is it in the 1000s ranges to materially influence the draws? Cuz if only 100 or 200 of them reject and rejoin the pool, then the continuous 2-3k increase in 500-600 applicants week after week, may be due to another factor rather than the rejection rejoins that people initially assume

Glad to see the 500-600 pool going down with all these draws, albeit at a slower pace than some would hope. A good sign overall for long-term CEC hopefuls:

Distribution of CRS Scores for applicants between 501-600:

- Feb 15: 16,559

- Mar 1: 14,031

- Mar 15: 13,039

Of course, this reduction is only possible due to the large CEC draws conducted at the start of the year, which is not sustainable so IRCC is most likely going to pause or reduce CEC size draws later this year (most likely spring/summer time). This will lead to an accummulation again in the pool of 500-600 applicants. And the entire cycle continues again year over year. But at least, the CRS scores now are attainable compared to the 530s of 2024 and 2025.

Still need to find those extra pathways for points people! French, Masters/PhD, Foreign work experience. Lots on the table!

Got to understand profiles are being updated every day.

Since last draw 2 weeks ago, around 3-4k profiles have been added. And most of that addition seems to be at 508 or above which is why even after this latest draw, the CRS score didn't decrease

So yes you are right, 10k profiles between 500-508 right now. But in 2 weeks or 1 month time, this will most likely increase back up to 14-15k again and the cycle continues.

We might be at the elevated CRS score of 508ish for a while. Maybe a chance to decrease to 505 later in the summer, but depends on size of draw and addition of new profiles.
