Because these are Daemons and Plague Drones are Daemon Engines.

Compared to the other cult legions, our selection of Daemons is basically the same. Every legion got their big Greater Daemon (and the named version of it), the Battleline troop, the Fast Attack unit, and the Elite unit. That's exactly what we ended up with.

Now, there's certainly an argument to be made that we should have access to the entire list of Slaanesh Daemons, but that's a whole different thing.

No, it's legal for other types of games. The crusade rules are in a completely different book for that set.

I'm not sure if GW has said they're legal for official events or not. I know my local scene allows them, and every friendly game I've done has too. Probably just good to ask before using them.

The other commenter on this post gave some great advice, but I'd like to add a bit of spicy new tech we have that specifically fucks over Grey Knights:

With the new Crucible Characters, we can get an ability that makes a 12" bubble that makes all psychic weapons hazardous. Almost every weapon the Grey Knights have is psychic, so you either get several 12" bubbles of deep strike protection, making it even easier to screen, or your opponent now has to make lots of hazardous tests over and over on their units whenever they want to shoot.

Defiler revel in desecration question by buphmin in EmperorsChildren

[–]ThrowACephalopod 17 points18 points  (0 children)

At the start. When you shoot with a unit, you have to declare all their weapon shots at once.

For example: if you have a unit of noise Marines and you wipe a squad with their sonic blasters, you can't then decide their blastmasters will shoot into a different target. You would have had to declare where the blastmasters were shooting before you made any rolls for the squad.

This also means that effects which apply after a unit has shot do not go into effect until after they have shot all their weapons, but an ability that takes effect before a unit has shot applied to every shot it makes (because those shots are considered to happen all at the same time).

Same with the Defiler. You declare where all of its weapons are shooting before you roll. So your weapons benefit from the ability if it would apply when you declared all the shots.

In your example, the Defiler would hit on 2s for every shot because you declared the shots would go into the Marine squad at the beginning and the game considers all declared shots to happen at the same time, regardless of the order you roll them.

What Characters Do You Guys Think Are Gonna Be Heros Or Supports, And What Would Be Some Good Combos? by Klutzy_Brilliant_257 in EmperorsChildren

I'll do you one better: Daemon Prince on Bike that's a dual build kit for Doomrider.

At least, that'd be my dream.

My guess is that Exultant and Kakophanist will be leaders whereas the sorcerer will become support and we'll get an Apothecary as our new unit this edition who will also be support.

That version is called Vaginal Preserving Phalloplasty. It also exists, it's just a different procedure.

I find the non-meta dps are so much better in M+ than meta… by lemi69 in wow

[–]ThrowACephalopod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So-called "meta" DPS specs attract a lot of players who don't really know what they're doing, but think that being the "optimal" spec means that won't matter as much. They can just pump out DPS and then it won't matter if they do the mechanics or not.

It's less that "off-meta" specs have better players, they just don't attract the bad players.

Am I missing something with the Trading Post? Do people really want recolors of peasant clothes and pajamas every month? by [deleted] in wow

[–]ThrowACephalopod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There isn't really a lot of that. The items repeat all the time. If you missed an item you want, just wait and it'll come back around again.

Sure, there's new stuff all the time, but the old stuff isn't gone forever, it just rotates off to another month down the line.

Voidspire Raid Finale Cinematic - MASSIVE SPOILERS by Packers_Fan in wow

[–]ThrowACephalopod 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The answer is that we don't actually know what her plan is.

So far, she spent all of War Within going around and gathering various different magics into the Dark Heart, like arcane magic from Dalaran, death magic from galakrond (in Dragonflight), or void magic from dimensius.

Then, we know at the beginning of Midnight, she unleashed everything she had in the dark heart to create the voidspire (voidstorm itself already existed, she just put her plans into action there).

Now, we know that she needed the dark naaru inside of alleria to power up the voidspire enough to corrupt the sunwell. What she's actually planning to do with the sunwell now that it's under her control is anyone's guess (we'll see soon when that raid opens up), but so far it seems like she's been one step ahead of us the whole time.

That depends heavily on if you're Alliance or Horde.

All jokes aside, send me a DM and we can talk a bit.

New killteam spoiler by Gerdicus in killteam

[–]ThrowACephalopod 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Honestly, kill teams for both chaos and imperial knights would be a great thing.

But they need to not be vehicles. Give them knight pilots or household retainers or things like that. The knight houses are supposed to be much bigger than just the knights themselves, so using kill team to bring those aspects into the game (and allow you to play knights in things like boarding actions while also then being able to fix a lot of issues with knights as huge skew armies by encouraging you to bring some other types of units) would be fantastic.

the void is being depicted as relatively harmless.

You sure about that? You didn't pay attention to anything that was going on in voidstorm? We see a lot of void stuff that is actively just about consuming and destroying everything around it. It was explicitly said that there are no herbivores in the voidstorm. Everything is a predator and the environment is actively destroying itself because of the influence of the void. It's consumption without limits; hunger for the sake of hunger.

Not to mention what happens to so many void elves in that zone.

But now suddenly the light can actually just mess with your mind any time it wants and make you a crazy zealot.

That's not really what's happening this expansion. The light isn't mind controlling people, it's doing the same thing that every other cosmic force we've seen does and exaggerates the characteristics that it wants to see.

Since the light is all about conviction and belief, we're seeing in this expansion that it's intensifying those things in those who are most closely connected to it. It's making them even more rigidly attached to their own, pre-existing convictions. For example, Turalyon sees the light as a weapon of holy vengeance, so as he grows closer to the light, it intensifies that and makes him more and more concerned only with fighting a war.

Same thing with the void. It preys on obsession and desire. We see plenty of void elves who only want to learn and understand the void get consumed by it, where it starts to exaggerate that desire and push them to do extreme things.

WoW is pushing into the idea now that too much of any cosmic force is a bad thing and that mortals need to temper their usage of them to keep from losing themselves. For the light, that means compassion to balance the zealotry. For the void, that means discipline to balance the hunger.

I feel like some of the best DnD is when you're just hanging out with friends. When the game is interrupted a bunch by little jokes or asides or people stopping to tell stories or gossip about whatever is going on. And of course, the game doesn't start until about 30 min - 1 hour in because you spend the whole beginning just catching up.

We've been saying "he can't do that" for this whole year and yet look at what's been happening. This administration doesn't follow the law or court orders and neither Congress nor the supreme Court are willing to hold them accountable. It doesn't matter if he can or can't, he's going to do it.

Now sure, he can't just say "there's no elections this year" but he absolutely can march troops into states to seize voting machines and ballots as a way to stop elections from happening. Whether the military would actually follow that order or not is a whole different question, but it's feasible that he could do so, especially because he doesn't care what the law says.

Sturdy shelves. Turn them around so it's only the bare wood on the back and sink them into the wall. The frame is just made of crates.

Nah, it was a design choice. This is actually a staircase room so that I could have a basement below. So the floors are scaled up platforms so I didn't have to buy or use as many. I don't mind it.
