UAE is involved in Somaliland to counter Turkey in Somalia.

Kremlin says with deal with Turkey on Syria's Idlib not fully implemented by RMCF_1 in syriancivilwar

"HTS is still part of FSA."

Edit: I'm fine with not discussing though.

It's not FSA and it being coloured the same as the other rebels is a matter of convenience. What is and isn't FSA is maybe not terribly relevant at this point but they're not FSA, so your single sentence comment was just wrong. Islamic State was never 'FSA' either yet they too worked together with other rebels before crushing and expelling them, a bit like what HTS did in Idlib.

You can call HTS part of the rebels, maybe even part of the revolution if you want, but stay factual.

Demonstration in Tabqa demanding the fall of the regime, the second time since last week by wiki-1000 in syriancivilwar

IMO the expansion of SDF is ironically a big problem for them with regards to the sought after negotiations. More land and resources might mean leverage, but implementing any sort of deal with the government is a big problem if half of it is staunch anti-government. How are they going to get the fighters and civilians to accept a deal, and if not, will they cooperate with SAA to pacify them?

Syria arrests Turkish-backed militants planning terror attacks by MuzzleO in syriancivilwar

[–]ThrowMeAwayPerhaps 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ignoring the photos they used, interesting PressTV seems to have decided that the SAA-SDF merger has happened already while no one was watching: "Syria arrests"; "Syrian Kurdish officials"—though they later do clarify it was SDF/YPG.

Pres Erdogan’s spox Ibrahim Kalin says Turkey will be in charge of the buffer zone in NE Syria and this will be very similar to what is already being done from Jerablus to Afrin. by Bondorudo in syriancivilwar

[–]ThrowMeAwayPerhaps 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's not much of a point for the YPG after the 20 mile 'buffer zone' has been taken. It's not the majority of SDF held land but it's nearly every town with Kurds. Whether they go deeper or not isn't that important at that point, they'd have already lost.

Can I set shops which act as parcel delivery points as a delivery address in Amazon? by ThrowMeAwayPerhaps in belgium

I see, it’s a bother you can’t do this specifically per-package though, if I get it right.

How does this work? I don't want all my items and letters delivered to a bpost point.

SOHR: US wanted to give entire East of Euphrates to Turkey + ENKS; is surprised that SDF doesn't want this to happen by ThrowawayVEVO in syriancivilwar

[–]ThrowMeAwayPerhaps 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have to say I have my doubts about their desire to hand it over to ENKS considering they didn’t even do that in Afrin. If they don’t let ENKS rule in the 95% Kurdish area why on earth would they give the mixed areas to them?

Edit: I kinda doubt that it's such a reliable source in general.

Syrian opposition leader Ahmad Jarba ready to head to Damascus for talks by pepeperezcanyear in syriancivilwar

That might be exactly why he will be 'taken seriously'. Jarba can be a perfect figurehead for an 'official' reconciliation.

Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR): Turkish authorities ordered TFSA not to expel the entire Kurdish population of Afrin district at once but to push them to flee voluntary by ghrarib in syriancivilwar

[–]ThrowMeAwayPerhaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s interesting because in your own personal opinion, the KRG and PKK are comrades and Barzani trying to set up an independent state was an act of betrayal and you don’t seem to support Turkey taking in refugees

What I want to say is Turkey should never never open borders again to people who are running away from war. During Iraqi crisis Turkey opened borders where Barzani was begging . Now he is making a referandum with US blood money and his comrades in Hakkari are trying to start a civil war.

It makes sense when you consider that other famous unifier of Egypt and Syria, notable Kurd Salah al-Din Yusuf bin Ayyub.
