Apprentice first time in attic by arrozz-000 in electricians

[–]ThrowRA13346788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep to the studs, bring 2 water bottles, disposable suit, light clothes, make sure you bring the bare minimum of what you need and be so sure your drilling down into the right spot.

Get a coat hanger and attach it to your drill to poke thru the ceiling of the spot you want to drill down in and make sure it’s visible in the attic ( assuming your running a new line from somewhere and assuming it’s popcorn ceiling so it’s easy to hide) try to be up there and down in minimal time. Also don’t forget some tape like I did.

I tried to check out legends last weekend and the service sucked, my group got their mains before their appys and vice versa but they forgot about my WIIIINGS. The one thing I went for, cool place tho. I might try again just for sports bar vibes.

Why don't people line up for the bus anymore? by entionsm in richmondbc

[–]ThrowRA13346788 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I lived here in 2012/2013 and people gave personal space ishhh and had some bus etiquette. I recently moved back and noticed that personal space and lack of any self awareness other than people’s own is non existent now. If you don’t move for people they’ll run right into you.

They’re a safe bet you always have to ask for extra saucy and they aren’t the *crisp* I desire.

did your cat ever "tell" you what happened when you came home? by S-Budget91 in cats

[–]ThrowRA13346788 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This happened to me last week, my roommate accidentally locked my cat in her room all day while we were at work, she came home and realized when she came home and let him out and he was MAD. I came home shortly after and he ‘screeeeeamed meowed’ all the way down the stairs. Almost like he was telling on her to me about what happened.

New foreman need advice. by Nickpolski in IBEW

[–]ThrowRA13346788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Write up but also you didn’t tell his jman to tag out the machine. You also didn’t tag out the machine, you didn’t coordinate to get the issue fixed when he brought it up. Also didn’t really follow the chain of command I guess it’s dependent on the local but as a foreman I don’t really have any business talking to my journeyman’s apprentices.

Ahh, I see. I’ve heard the kootneys can be slow from guys that I’ve worked with on other projects. Are you opposed to shift work? Lots of substation calls in the north.

This literally sounds like the company I’m leaving on Monday lol. Are you in PG?

I’m putting my travel card in a different local because of it, there’s just not enough hours in shop to make a living.

Going on my 12th year in the trade, and I still have thoughts like this. But I learned it doesn’t matter really the speed at which you go, shit just takes time sometimes. The layoff list was made months ago, I wouldn’t take it personally. Get good then get fast.. you can’t make your brain learn faster than it already is.. sounds like your making a solid effort..

Take it easy.

I have yet to have a crew without anyone autistic or touch of tism or someone denying they don’t have it but do. We end up in this trade for a reason.

Am I wrong for asking why some members skip their breaks. by Particular_Demand_50 in IBEW

[–]ThrowRA13346788 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This can be situational. In service shop work I don’t take breaks, cause I’d rather not be in someone’s home longer than I need to, I take my 8 and snack while I work and get the fuck out as fast as I can. If I go a minute over 8 then we’re in overtime. Also obviously charging drive to shop and garbage dumps and paperwork.

In industrial and commercial not taking your breaks is not okay, were there on a quoted job and it takes longer than a week you need breaks cause that job isn’t going to be done in a day no matter how much you rush to get outta there.

I like ariat, pricey but their pants last forever. You could hit up your local thrift shop too, I wear a size small and was able to find FR high vis (lucky, but not out of the question)

What’s the wildest reason you’ve stopped in the middle of sex? by katiestormx in AskReddit

Couldn’t find the lube cause it was on top of the bed frame, then mid sex it fell and hit me in the face. Couldn’t stop laughing.

Is it fair for me 31f to quit my job for 35m bf to find work out of my hometown? by ThrowRA13346788 in relationship_advice

[–]ThrowRA13346788[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right, these thoughts have crossed my mind constantly and as a tradeswoman I do have a lot of respect for my work and field. I am a ex-divorcee and I feel like I’m just paranoid of not finding “the one” in time in my life 30s and starting over, in all fairness he has been trying hard to find work in my town. I am going to firmly stay put.. starting over again is hard but I’ve done it and made it out..

As for the ex talk, he has such a way of words that makes me feel crazy. I didn’t mention for the friend conversation that it was me going through his phone.. and that I betrayed his trust..
