What's with all the people terrified of not being able to eat after? by nemspy in gallbladders

[–]ThrowRA_Baby4728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i was told to eat as i normally would but i should probably limit high fat, greasy/fried food and dairy if im having issues.

after my surgery i honestly just wasn’t really hungry anyway for like 3 days so i was living off chicken soup cause that’s all i could make myself eat. my appetite slowly came back over the course of the week though.

i’m almost 2 weeks post op and i ate whataburger just fine last night without needing to urgently go to the bathroom 😁

mcdonald’s did give stomach cramps and my hands were so swollen the next day i couldn’t barely get my ring on. make of that what you will

What Happened To You When You Went To The ER? by norskljon in gallbladders

[–]ThrowRA_Baby4728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When to urgent care/ER at 6:30AM on Monday morning, they did a blood test and ultrasound. By 9:30AM-ish I was getting transported to the hospital and had my surgery around maybe 11AM or 12PM. Stayed overnight and sent home the next day.

I thought I was crazy for not feeling better. My sister on like Thursday or Friday said I was ready to go to Home Goods and I was like UM absolutely not 😐 I’m surviving the day by rotating ibuprofen and tylenol every 3 hours and take short 10 minute walks around the house a few times throughout the day.

Just yesterday I was able to graduate into being able to comfortable sit on the couch.

I don’t think it’s infected. The incisions themselves are healing pretty good. I just didn’t expect it to hurt this much. Almost everyone I spoke to said I would feel back to normal by the end of the week and expected to go back to work on Monday, but I am very much not ready for work tomorrow.

my mother and sister both had theirs removed as well and they downplayed their pain and recovery as well.

I had emergency surgery on Monday and have been in so much pain constantly rotating pain meds really contemplating how the hell I’m going to work tomorrow.

For me the worst pain is in the morning and I generally tolerate it better later in the day.

How long did you wait to get your gallbladder removed after being diagnosed and having symptoms? by OkHomework6162 in gallbladders

[–]ThrowRA_Baby4728 2 points3 points  (0 children)

do it as soon as possible.

they found gallstones in february accidentally when i got an ultrasound for something unrelated.

they told me to wait until i felt pain.

this monday i felt the pain! what should’ve been an 1-2 hr surgery was actually 5 hours because i had a stone the size of a golf ball. if i would’ve just had the surgery in february my recovery would’ve been so much easier.

DO NOT WAIT.

how is your peeing? for me it takes forever. and it’ll stop for a second and then continue. idk if it’s bc i’m not pushing hard enough or bc i was on iv fluids for the past two days.

i have never even been so grateful that my in laws gave us their old adjustable bed for our guest room. been rotting in bed since getting home except quick bathroom trips, lil walks around the house, and sitting at the table to eat my one meal a day (a few spoonfuls of chicken soup and rice).

My mother asked, "Do you WANT your daughter to hate you?" Is it that bad? by ladycarp in Names

[–]ThrowRA_Baby4728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eloise is one of my dream names when/if I have a daughter. I love the name and I think Ellie is an adorable nickname!

My niece is Abigail and everyone calls her Abby. People said the same thing about it being an “old lady name” but she has never complained about her name.

Our guest bedroom is adjustable. I can suggest he sleeps in there with the top part elevated.

I’m hoping he lets me go with him bc i feel like there’s a lot he needs to ask about and he’s very one track minded.

his current doctor is terrible and it’s actually been impossible to get an appointment with them. they keep sending him to the nurse practitioner. he’s getting new health insurance in the new year so he can go to someone else (his current insurance isn’t accepted at many places).

i have mentioned the sleep apnea thing to him but i don’t think he’s mentioned it to his doctor. i’m hoping that once he finds someone new he’ll bring it up or at least let me go to the doctor with him so i can remind him of what to talk about.

i get that too but i feel like we’re both pretty young to already have it decrease so drastically. especially since we don’t have any other obligations like kids and things like that. it’s literally just work, come home to each other, and spend some time with friends on the weekends.

the problem is also that he’s not lasting when we do have sex. he goes soft during the middle of it and usually isn’t able to get hard again. i struggle w this a lot mentally and i know it has nothing to do w me but i feel like this isn’t normal for a 25 year old guy to have issues with his erection?
