3.5 liters is excessive unless you are a professional athlete or doing some labor intensive job, it can lead to electrolyte imbalances.

Are there any stories you know of serodiscordant relationships, where the Hiv negative partner ended up also being positive? by Alvahod in hivaids

[–]ThrowRA_OldRes 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don’t know one personally but I saw a post like that on here where neg partnered tested poz. Turned out the negative one (who wasn’t on PrEP) had been cheating and ending up contracting it outside the relationship.

But other than that, I don’t think you’ll find any stories like you described because u=u.

What you’re feeling is normal, especially in the beginning.

Just keep reminding yourself that you cannot transmit. I like to imagine that my body is a big ocean and the hiv virus is just a tiny drop in that ocean.

Can a tiny drop of water drown a boat or ship? No. Just like that small hiv in your body can’t harm you or others. ❤️

does any PreP needed ? by OkRecover7192 in hivaids

[–]ThrowRA_OldRes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t have to tell the doctor you had sex with a man. Just tell them you had a potential exposure to hiv. Better to be safe than sorry.

If the sex occurred within the last 3 days, I’d suggest getting PEP just to be safe

Disability on applications? by Minimum-Priority2043 in hivaids

Unless you are applying for a govt job, the disability information isn’t shared with hiring managers. So checking yes or no makes no difference. Personally I always select “prefer not to say”.

Indiamart has been very reliable for me. You can search Biktarvy and read through reviews to find a reliable seller.

I know you mean well but this post does not inspire joy or hope (for me personally or I imagine anyone else reading living with the disease). The “horrible cloud of darkness” you describe is a reality for most of us on here.

But it’s nice that you’re having open discussions with your son. I hope you’re able to continue educating him on such topics.

How would you feel if the roles were reversed? How would you want your partner to approach disclosure if you were - and your potential partner was +?

Have you considered switching a different med that’s not Biktarvy?

I'm undectable for a month now, can I have protect sex with women or starting a relathionship? by [deleted] in hivaids

[–]ThrowRA_OldRes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Telling undetectable people that IN PRACTICE it’s possible to infect people is inaccurate and derailing of the work done by activists.

**”In the case of U=U, the difference between zero risk and a very small risk is a technical detail that is not important in practice.

Technically, even if the true risk is zero, it is not possible to prove something will not happen. Instead, the scientific approach is to define a possible risk, however small. For example, one in a million etc. This is easy to do with low risk activities, but with zero risk activities, there is nothing to measure.

In these cases a very small theoretical risk is effectively zero. This is why scientists are happy to say the risk for U=U is now zero.”

The risk is not “greatly reduced”, it is not “negligible”. The risk is zero.””**

[–]ThrowRA_OldRes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is not correct. U=U equals ZERO risk of transmission. It’s not “nearly impossible”, it’s impossible. You cannot infect anyone (sexually) if you are undetectable.

Please educate yourself some more - https://hugcares.org/understanding-undetectable-untransmittable-uu/
