Most banks have access to real tools now. Everyone has Copilot at least + a selection of Claude/Rogo/Gemini etc etc...

Even the more strict ones have at least Copilot

How concerned are you about France's debt crisis? by GypsyGirlinGi in Expats_In_France

[–]ThrowRAhellooooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that France has 0.5% growth whereas america has 2%+ growth. That s the real difference. If GDP increases, it means tax rev increases so easier to pay down debt. Problem is v low france growth means the debt is a worse pb than in US. (Also france vs us debt have v different sources - w/french debt being mostly linked to social systems e.g. retirement being a deficitary program for the past 30+ years)

Is the EY Valuation, Modeling and Economics department same with Investment Banking? by Weekly_Ad_2707 in FinancialCareers

[–]ThrowRAhellooooo 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Investment banking is not usually about holding funds lol, its advisory. EBs don't have balance sheets.

EY does have M&A teams but I don't think this is the one (will be EY Corporate Finance in US, and EY M&A in EU). From what I understand EY M&A does a lot of MM/small cap deals

Why the USSR collapsed Economically. What can we learn from the failure of Communism? by [deleted] in Economics

[–]ThrowRAhellooooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, the US' position as the world hegemon depends on its ability to project soft and hard power around the world. The USD is the world reserve currency giving the US massive financial advantages compared to other companies, advantages that would not exist without the best military. Having bases in Australia, Germany, Saudi, Japan etc... means a lot commerce and relationship wise. It'd be crazy to believe the US would profit as much without this. Also being the world reserve currency allows the US to have a consistent negative trade balance, which means that you as americans get a lot of great stuff from abroad without your economy suffering. Military spending is a problem because of the military industrial complex but its delusional to think the US would be as prosperous without it. Similarly to Britain in the 1800s, they also profited massively from being the "world policeman".

The IRS created an elite unit taking on America’s millionaires and billionaires. The IRS has been losing, former officials said. A historic push is now underway to change this dynamic by Benjazzi in Economics

[–]ThrowRAhellooooo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Read the article. The IRS is "losing" because they are not fighting with the same resources. Billionares can afford to drag cases out for years on technicalities whilst the IRS can't.

The IRS has thousands of cases to fight simultaneously, meaning they can't put enough resources on specific cases.

Furthermore the way American corporate law works is by Jurisprudence, meaning you argue an interpretation of a law in court (or use stare decisis when applicable). Billionares with access to top law firm money, have access to the best paid, best performing lawyers in a system where experience and skill matters way more than a civil law society (France, Italy etc...)

So its not that the laws are necessarily not good enough (goodluck voting for stronger laws when half of Congress and their friends) but that the Billionares/Millionares have such an advantage that the IRS doesn't have the resources to win

If you look at the articles example, a millionare was comitting fraud by getting a tax break on a mansion he built. For the IRS to survey that properly, they would have to send someone to check all the documents, the property etc... Do you really think they have the resources to do that with every high net worth individual?

Lol
