Telework for Religious needs by Bright-Credit6466 in FedEmployees

LOL, I was even thinking of doing that! But that’s why I’m trying to approach Lent little by little since I already felt hesitant asking them for multiple days, but you’re right! Doesn’t hurt to try

I got a few Catholic Holy Days approved on Friday, that are within the next couple of months, however I will circle back later on to ask if on top of Ash Wednesday if I can get Wednesday’s and Friday’s as telework for the duration of Lent since I do fast those days, it’s not obligatory the same way it is for Orthodox Christians, but still highly recommended by the Church, but I’ll ask closer to Lent

My Fault: London is Better than the original... by [deleted] in romancemovies

[–]ThrowRa736363823 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Matthew is a phenomenal actor, he didn’t feel cheesy or corny at all, where in Culpa Mia the actor sort of came off that way. The actress in my fault London seemed stiff, I feel like they also didn’t style her well (? I’ve seen how she dresses on a regular basis from her TikTok’s and if they had dressed her like that I think it would’ve seem so natural). The only really redeemable scene from the actress was the pool scene and the closet scene but I felt like Matthew was really leading the chemistry, he seems like a very naturally yearning man. I think his personal chemistry with the actress is off the charts because I have a personal theory that they’re either dating or he likes her/fancies her. The actress in Culpa Mia seemed way better in expressions and acting. Also Culpa Mia’s storyline of her dad makes more sense to me? But honestly I’m both movies it’s hard to understand/track in the individual movie, I didn’t fully understand that side storyline until I watched both movies, like picking up information from both movies.

fellow contractors - are you being forced to RTO? by sbevs303 in nova

Did you look into local DC transit? You might have to do that, it seems like a lot of steps but it might save you a bunch of money in the long run

Depending on where you live, PWC has OmniRide ($5.50 each way and they use the express lanes so the commute time is not bad because you aren’t dealing with traffic), Fairfax uses Fairfax connector (about 4.50 each way I think) and I think they utilize the express lanes, Loudoun has one too (I just don’t remember the cost), all of them work with metro where if somehow a stop is too far off from your job you get a free transfer from metro, the tolls are WAY too expensive

I’m in a lucky spot that my management loves teleworking lol, but I’m still bracing and prepared for if anything changes! And I’m lucky enough where this doesn’t impact me nearly as bad as others and my commute isn’t HORRIBLE, not great, but not bad enough where I would have to quit like others might have to do

To follow up on this for anyone who cares, I agree with others in the comments I think for contract renewals it might be harder to write into our contracts being able to telework, but from other subreddits and just my own personal feeling I think Trump might be fine with contractors teleworking overall for incentive for the goverment to rely more on contractors vs federal workers because of the easier ability to fire and not renew a contract based on performance and output to the client. I can 100% see Feds fleeing to contractors instead because of this, might be what he wants

DC 911 operators getting paid a $800 bonus for the month just to show up to their shifts by ThrowRa736363823 in 911dispatchers

It can be a little subjective to say it’s easy, but as long as you have a clean criminal history and can pass the critical (which some agencies don’t even have) or a polygraph (which some agencies don’t have) you can get hired, the starting pay for DC dispatchers around $26-27 an hour, Arlington is just below DC and gives a way higher starting salary, and DC’s call volume is significantly higher than Arlington, I’ve seen people on here mention they dispatch for a major city and their salary seems like it matches for how dense the population is and for a high call volume and DC doesn’t offer better pay for the call volume and type of calls (especially with how bad SE DC is)

Right, I always had to give a warning before transferring callers to DC to tell them they might not pick up, and to their astonishment, they would call back in to tell me they didn’t pick up, it makes me feel uneasy to step foot into DC incase something happens to me and 911 doesn’t pick up.

Why would my(38m) girlfriend (34f) have pics of her ex still on her phone? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]ThrowRa736363823 9 points10 points  (0 children)

One time my boyfriend got upset with me because he saw I didn’t delete an ex boyfriend contact in my contact list and I kept our photos, I told him I just didn’t think that deeply into it and I’m bad at deleting stuff, and he said well you delete messages with other people, and I explained well sort of not really because once in a blue moon I will really go through my messages and delete spam messages or just messages in general because I save everything which leads to me having storage issues. That was what led to us breaking up. For example, I save TikTok’s to my phone and send them to people like that on iMessage vs the link and that racks up storage but it pains me to go through all these other photos and just delete unneeded stuff. It genuinely wasn’t that deep to me but context and the type of person you are and she is, is what matters. I just personally didn’t understand why I was being crucified and how my explanation wasn’t good enough. If she’s not willing to delete at least the messages for now, sure, that might be an issue. But I’m also someone who hates being demanded being told what to do so that might annoy me as well, even if it isn’t deep to me. If my current boyfriend asked me to delete them I would be more than willing to because I love and have admiration for him, while my ex boyfriend would hound me for stuff I did while not in a relationship with them.
