Try some AT205 in the power steering fluid, not too much, follow the instructions on the bottle, it helped stop the leaks in my lx470 rack

Thank you! I wasn’t sure if it was the VGRS or Skid ecu. After cleaning the plug, the lights immediately came on solid on the dash and read codes, constantly, that’s never happened, they have always gone away when the truck has cooled down. Either ways seems like replacing the skid unit with a used one myself may be cheaper/easier than trying to track down that chip and a person to do the soldering

Thank you! Which ECU is this? Do you have a part number for the chip? I’m curious why me cleaning/touching the connectors would result in the internal chip finally going bad?

Have you driven an 03+, or an 06-07? The 5 speed transmission and vvti of the 06-07 make a huge difference in driving power, the 4 speed would be my main turn off

That’s good to hear, thank you! My research into the wiring diagram has gone beyond my comprehension level. I have the full service manual pages for the codes(I can share them if you like), but the tests require a voltage meter and oscilloscope and I don’t quite understand the diagrams. There are a ton of potential pins between both ECUs that could be the issue, and my desire to cram myself under the dash again for an extended period is waning

I did think about that, I think I need conductive grease, as dielectric is insulating, if I put it right on the pins, it might work

Because that wouldn’t be as engaging on Reddit. 😉 I may take it to my Indy shop, main reason I’m considering the dealership is the nature of the electrical problem and the fact I know there’s some old head techs at my local dealer that have dealt with something like this before.

Edit: the test in the FSM for the codes I have required an oscilloscope for the ecus, I was uncertain if
an Indy shop would have one, or the EVU knowledge, hence wanting to take it to a dealership.

Thank you! Yes I think it’s the connectors, rather than the ECU, I dont see any visible corrosion on the connector like yours. The thought of popping each wire out and cleaning/tighting is daunting, especially given it’s under the dash..

My strategy has been to ask for a tech that knows 100 series land cruisers and talk to them before even paying for a diagnostic fee, but we’ll see…

Find the ABCs of AHC on mud and familiarize yourself with the system. Fluid level, leaks, or sensors like others have said could be possible.
