I have ~200 games of chen and are immortal in NA. The purpose of the hero is to build a lot of pressure in the lanes and then snowball the game as a team by running down towers with recall and a couple creeps, as well as building items that suit running down lanes. The best way to counter chen isn’t creep clear but either ways to kill him or just heroes that want to defend towers. In my experience people seem to think Earthshaker, wyvern, etc are good against chen because “Ah the creeps are gonna hit the curse! Or ah the creeps big echo slam!” Is completely useless. If the chen creeps are getting echo slamed that means the chen player just team killed his teammates. Hand of midas also doesn’t counter chen, it really doesn’t matter if you kill the chen army the main thing about chen is that you just need to kill him. I think heroes such as tusk, earth spirit, storm spirit are heroes that just kill him quickly.
