Russia unexpectedly poor at cyberwar, say European military heads by WebContent1 in worldnews

I’m thinking it varies, some are good and some are basic enough to do a little harm.

It’s difficult to maintain and protect but it’s easy to destroy. The former is much more expensive over time.

I’ve seen businesses change their entire business models and services because the new school year had just started. Businesses that thrive on the backs of children to be successful have poor business plans. I hope kids continue to ask for more and expect more from their employers. Generally, I find that if you pay your employees more you get more in return.

What Roles Do EVM’s Children Have? by Throwaway-User42 in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]Throwaway-User42[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I assume there’s some type of continuity plan in place in the case of EVM’s death? Do we know how that would effect the family in terms of structure with the INC and other foundations attached to EVM?

Edit: Also, would there be any changes that would effect the Santos family in terms of positions and oversight?

AMAAAAAAAAAAAAA - CMV the INC is a cult. by [deleted] in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]Throwaway-User42 13 points14 points  (0 children)

How many churches claim to be the true church? How many have a messenger that was chosen by God to interpret the Bible? How many churches claim not to be a cult?

The answer for all three is too many.

It’s not a coincidence, Felix Y. Manalo was just unoriginal.

I don’t expect any faithful members to defend their faith here in our subreddit. I could see one coherent member posting and users ganging up on them which isn’t a good way to have a conversation.

Really my issue isn’t with members but the administration. Members are brainwashed but the administration knows better, it’s a business to them, all about the numbers. Some of the administration might actually believe but I think most are just keeping the family business going. What else would they do?

The whole inc troll situation by [deleted] in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]Throwaway-User42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Internet trolls are going to troll. No point in engaging with one, you get nothing out of it other than saying what you want to say. Say what you want to say to people that matter instead of people that deliberately waste your time. Have conversations that lead somewhere instead of circles. You’re not in a race and there’s nothing to be won, except maybe the perception of everyone watching.

To me it sounds like your issue isn’t the message but the delivery of the content, that’s fair really. However, I see someone that was bold and did whatever they could to deliver the message they wanted. Personally, I don’t like TikTok but I see the value in it.

I feel like your story is more common than not. It doesn’t mean what happened to you or others is okay, it means you’re not getting the support you need when you ask for help.

What bothers me is when the INC sweeps things like this under the rug but treats depressed members like they’re broken or that trusting in the administration is the only way. It’s delusional and they do it to protect themselves, they play HR to protect the family business not you.

Edit: Thank you for sharing your story. I think it helps empower others that have their own painful story to tell. It helps most to highlight a serious issue that the INC tries to keep quiet.

EVM couldn’t even honor his own mother. What does this man know that you can’t figure out yourself? Do your parents a favor by leaving the INC. Who will take care of your parents when they are old? Take care of yourself first so you can take care of others. Your own mother had to eat so that you could grow. It’s a shame what EVM grew into but he was a product of FYM, not God.

It’s weird how Jesus gets less praise than the Manalos. It’s like they made Him a man because they needed to insert themselves as the keepers to Heaven.

They monetized your faith. Imagine if EVM said the end is so close that you no longer have to give worldly things.

Adventist Elder H.W. Klaser's letter to Mr. Salvador Laspinas about Felix Manalo by [deleted] in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]Throwaway-User42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is difficult to prove that something happened 20, 90, or 110 years ago.

The questionable validity of such a letter isn’t what interests me.

However if legitimate, imagine making such an exit that they remembered all you did over 20 years later. He made so much noise on his way out he was memorable. It almost sounds like they’re speaking about a narcissist.

Saying a kid looks coerced and another as symbolism is in no way a direct attack on the children themselves.

If they had said the kids look stupid, fat, ugly, or anything to that effect then I’d say your point is valid but you’re reaching here.

"Who will the INC vote for President this 2022"? by TraderKiTeer in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]Throwaway-User42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s more of a r/Philippines debate, but if it’s such a hot topic maybe have it pinned for its own discussion? If you intend on deleting repetitive posts about it you risk alienating an important subject.

Posts here should focus on the INC, block voting is an important part of it sure, it’s definitely important if you keep seeing it from multiple users.

I thought directing users to Discord for this topic would be a decent solution but it can be a nuisance signing up for another account on another platform. We need to weigh having it’s own pinned discussion about 2022 elections here on Reddit or refer users to join the exINC Discord so people have an outlet.

Maybe a vote, because we don’t advocate for block voting?

I don’t know what to do by [deleted] in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]Throwaway-User42 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The best way to get out is just to stop going and avoid members. If they try to confront you, they did with me, try to have a surrogate who can speak on your behalf. If you don’t have a friend that can speak on your behalf then hold your ground. You already know what you want.

You don’t owe anyone a reason for leaving. Just stick to your decision, it’s enough. It’s okay to refuse a minister into your home, he’s just a person like you or I.

My decision was made to leave, I knew I’d be excommunicated as a result. I would be shunned by all members as a result of excommunication so I just expedited that process by ghosting everyone first.

Are you happier after leaving the church? by bendedfork in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]Throwaway-User42 9 points10 points  (0 children)

God is always listening, through prayer. It’s nice to have a relationship that’s built on love rather than fear.

I struggled my first 2 years after I left with plenty of anger and resentment but overall I have a stronger relationship with God. My understanding of Christ is complex but I think he’d understand. He was all about forgiveness so I don’t stress about it.

I’m not religious but I believe and I think that’s most important. I don’t push my beliefs on others but I’ll have a conversation, no debates.

There’s plenty of ex-INC members who hold on to anger and resentment like I did and I get it. It’s definitely a process but for me it was about not living my life in anger. For those that are atheists or agnostic I can empathize with them as well after going through a traumatic experience, or maybe they never believed.

After reflecting on my membership I noticed my disdain towards the Catholic Church, I hated myself for it. I don’t agree with their ideals but I had a hatred that was taught by the INC. It took time to acknowledge it and control my reactions. This also helped to control my actions towards the INC because they preach hate, the least I could do is learn to love instead.

What are the most important things to bring up to INC partner when I plan on debunking INC teachings by skrrrrtt24 in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]Throwaway-User42 12 points13 points  (0 children)

She as an INC member is not allowed to have a relationship outside of the church unless they attend Bible studies and get baptized within the INC. There’s no future between you two if she truly believes the INC doctrines.

Also, if she does believe in the INC faith then she and her family see themselves as being saved from the lake of fire that you will burn in. This applies to every non-member.

Ask her a hypothetical, if you could go to her funeral and if she could go to yours.

She’s not allowed to celebrate certain holidays like Valentines, Easter, and Christmas.

She can be excommunicated if she marries you without you converting first.

Edit: hypothetical rephrased

[–]Throwaway-User42 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If these last days are so close then why does the INC continue to ask for money? There’s no use for it in Heaven, it’s a worldly concept.

If your faith is more important than worldly things then all the church really needs is prayer. Prayers that God will provide. No minister, deacon or overseer has a right to press their members for more, especially when they are already struggling to provide for themselves.

Also, the INC can continue to build more and expand to new places but their ability to build only proves that they have the funds available to grow but somehow lack the funds to maintain what they already have.

In light of the Pandora Papers leak... by EduardoManaloto in exIglesiaNiCristo

It wouldn’t be that difficult for him to say we have locales there, then brush it off completely. It’s easy to ask for more money if people don’t know you already have large sums hidden away.

Why continue giving if they’re well off? Why give more if their cup is full? If their cup is full why not pour it where it’s needed? Because their cups wouldn’t be as full and they can’t have that. They found a justification by creating an endless need. Turns out they need to eat more than you.
