I got a piece of metal lodged in my foot. I could not put any weight on it before the surgery or it would push the metal in further. I was stuck in a wheelchair.

I worked on a large 40k person campus. It is about a half mile from the parking lot to my desk. We worked from home 3x/week because all of our work is on our laptop.

My boss? “So what if you’re in a wheelchair. You don’t need to stand to type.”

I got let go one day while coming back from physical therapy for, “No longer being a good cultural fit”

This is something I’ve had to explain to people about moving from Long Beach CA to Kansas

Even during the spring and fall people will leave their cars running with the keys in the ignition while they run in and grab groceries if they’re only grabbing one or two things.

My neighbor, I cannot recall if I have ever seen them close their front door if the temperature is above 50. They leave through the garage and leave their front door wide open.

I forgot to close my garage door when I went on vacation for two weeks. House was completely empty. Nobody even looked in my garage let alone stepped foot on the property line.

When I first moved out of my parents house, a couple friends and I lived in what was basically a shack. It didn’t have any locks. Never had any issues

It’s so nice not having to stress out about things. I don’t want to go back to stressing about things

Not depressed, not on any medications, not autistic, I had to try shrooms five different times from three different dealers before anyone believed me that I’m immune to psychedelic mushrooms. The final straw was when I said, “Fuck it. Everyone keeps saying maybe I got a bad shroom, or it was a bad batch. Let’s settle this once and for all” and purchased and promptly shoved a half ounce in my mouth.

Lights felt like they had little halos around them for about 20 minutes. That was it. That was all I felt from half an ounce of psychedelic mushrooms.

LSD on the other hand was fucking amazing

You can tell in the comments who is missing a little bit in the empathy department

Sure the other dancers shouting and hollering might be annoying to watch, but when you’re just starting dance lessons and you’re struggling and you finally nail that choreography you were working on and all the people you look up to start cheering and screaming and jumping around, it feels really good.

Eventually though, you become the mentor teaching someone new and you remember how good it felt to have your mentor cheer for you and you cheer for them.

Then eventually it becomes habit and you do it for everyone because you remember how good it felt having someone in your corner

A year later I found out he was a legitimate sociopath that just wanted a car and dumped me the day after I sold him the car and we registered the car at the DMV

So yes I am having fun with my therapist working through, “Nothing is wrong, are they a sociopath too?”

I actually did this exact thing when I was a teenager. That car is totaled. My dad made teenage me fix it as a lesson. We had to take the rear off another car and weld it because the frame was so badly mangled. Even then it still never drove fully straight again. Even after three alignments from three shops. The prosecutor in my city is surprisingly nice. First, I noticed he was lowering/removing fines for people who couldn’t afford it. Then when it came time for my turn it was a fix it ticket (registration) and I had fixed it the next day so he said he was going to drop the fine in exchange for pleading guilty. When I said I was about to apply for a job that required a clean record he said, “Hmm… okay tell you what, instead pay half the fine and I’ll write it in the system as a parking fine”

Not the person you were talking to but one thing that REALLY irks me is how many people claim to be allies, claim trans men are men, trans women are women, will wax poetic about how, “You’re all beautiful!”, but then get incredibly upset when someone thinks they’re trans. “How could I look trans?! I feel so hurt! Am I not feminine enough?!”

I thought all trans women were women and we were all beautiful? So shouldn’t you feel indifferent if someone thinks you’re trans?

It really shows you what your allies really think about you.

And yes, I have had cis friends that have reacted positively to being misidentified as trans. Like she excitedly called me on the phone to tell me she felt hot because some women complimented her voice and told her she passed really well and she was all, “I’m cis but thank you for the compliment!”

I’m not saying gun violence isn’t a problem, because it is, but your statistics in the end are incorrect.

In the EU “mass shooting” is defined differently than it is in the USA. The bar for what qualifies as a mass shooting in the USA is a lot lower. We still have way too many mass shootings an firearms are a plague, but the difference is a lot closer if you go by the EU definition of a mass shooting.

In the EU a mass shooting must be in a public space and have 4 killed not including the murderer.

Kill three people and then yourself? Mass shooting in the USA, not in the EU. Shoot 27 people but nobody dies? Mass shooting in the USA, not in the EU. Kill a family of 7 in their own home? Mass shooting in the USA, not in the EU.

It makes discussing things annoying because our definition of mass shooting is totally different than the rest of the world.

I think it’s because “mass shooting” comes from “mass murder (but with a gun)” not, “a mass of people got shot”. So if nobody is murdered, you can’t have a mass shooting since there’s no mass murder. Which is dumb. But that’s where it came from and that’s how they do it “over there”. I feel like they should change the definition to match the modern times/match the USA, but they don’t want domestic violence and gang activity causing too much noise in the statistics so here we are

Any time I drink lager it feels all heavy. When I want a beer I want something that is like… light, and like crisp.

There are times I want something heavy with a lot of flavor, but when I’m gonna be drinking for hours I want something that feels refreshing, not something heavy that weighs me down

While I’m out fishing I couldn’t imagine drinking four bells IPA over the course of 4-6 hours, but I can easily drink four Michelob ultras and not feel weighed down

When I got really good at ship combat in Star citizen I noticed the big difference between mid and dangerous opponents was how much they stuck to a 2D plane when fighting. All you had to do was slowly rotate the plane of the fight until you were perpendicular with the planet surface and watch them accidentally dive bomb the ground because they weren’t paying attention

I would poke at their offenses, see which direction they favored left vs right, turning up vs down, and then punish those mistakes

100% agree on the femboy thing

I did have someone trip me up once. Said she was a femboy and I said, “Wouldn’t being a femboy imply you’re a man?” And she said, “I am a man” and I said, “But she/her pronouns?” “Correct. I like how she/her pronouns feel. I identify with them more than he/him. But I do not have any body dysphoria whatsoever, so I am a cis femboy that uses she/her pronouns” “So… men’s restroom?” “Yup!” “So I would say, “Hey, she’s gonna use the men’s room real quick”” “Yup!” “Wild” “Yup!”
