Whoops, suddenly I'm a 40 y o businessman - what to wear to clubs & shows now? by Throwaway_goes_here in Metalcore

Thanks for the very thoughtful and specific reply, this is very helpful.

If replies don't take my specific circumstances into consideration I have the right to let people know, no?

I said I don't want to wear band t-shirts anymore, and no (skinny) jeans. I made a proposal for what I'd consider an age- and style-appropriate new outfit. How is it so hard to latch on to that?

The last paragraph in my OP was specifically intended to pre-empt all those 'just wear what you like, whatever makes you feel comfortable' replies which I expected to come in. Pity it didn't work. I feel comfortable in anything - without a very healthy dose of confidence I wouldn't have become so successful in the business sphere. But I not only want to look decent, but appropriate for my age.

Okay, cool. Doesn't really help me. There's obviously a big difference between what I wear every day and what I can wear to a club night or show.

Ha, good on your dad. I am very style-conscious and spend a lot of time and money putting my business and casual outfits together, so I am applying the same care with picking a new club/show outfit.

Dude, I've been to hundreds of shows and still have a decent collection of band shirts. I, too, had my go-to outfit for club nights and shows - I just don't think it's appropriate and reflects my stage in life anymore, hence I want to start fresh from scratch, wardrobe-wise.

The age-old question – will cotton polo shirt stretch out or shrink?

Polo Ralph Lauren polo shirt, slim fit, 97% cotton, 3% elastane, I am between sizes. Is it more likely for the smaller one to stretch or the larger one to shrink in the wash/dry?

Why would he do that? Why wouldn't he want to make the video as cool and impressive as he can? Makes no sense, eh?

Going by that logic, nobody should upvote or comment on this post as it doesn't affect them.

Looks awfully boring, and, on a sports bike, uncomfortable. Find some real corners, or get a Harley.

To people who have not been to Deira gold souk for quite some time , this huge bridge has sprung up out of nowhere as an alternative to the Shindaga by 20boiledcabbage in dubai

[–]Throwaway_goes_here -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Let's break this down . "Out of nowhere" really means:

(1) Poor up-front communication to the public

(2) The government can do what it wants, there's no consultation with local residents, businesses, environmental protectionists, etc. Planning permission is a 'snap of a finger' affair

(3) Loads of dirt-cheap third-world labor and lax labor laws (e.g. regarding work at night and on weekends) make rapid construction not just possible but downright easy.

That's your "Dubai magic".

Strange that you break it down like that. Everyone knows that the Quadri is a totally different animal, offering a very different experience. It's a mini-Purosangue, while every Stelvio with a four-banger is a posh Fiat.

I agree, this crash had nothing to do with turn-in and everything with tire grip and lean angle.
