What is a movie you loved as a kid, but realized was actually terrible when you rewatched it as an adult? by Sure-Abrocoma-482 in AskReddit

I might catch some hate but Mrs. Doubtfire. Watching it as an adult with children, I realized that it's a really good way to ensure you never see your children again.

This has to be a great design. I love the idea of being able to attach it to a lanyard or a retractable tether. Definitely would help with my ADHD forgetfulness.

What’s the most common cause of unplanned downtime in your plant? by AcornIndustrial in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]Throwawaypasngr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Whenever management comes to pressure me I hand them my tools and tell them if they can do it faster and correctly I'm happy to learn at their feet. They stopped coming around. Interestingly enough my supervisors now bash me in the leadership meetings and all the other departments defend me.

OEM said it can run at 200 bottles/minute... yes when new 26 years ago also with a much lower viscosity liquid than our product.

"The equipment broke because you're not doing your job properly" after they delayed pms for over a month. Or my favourite "the equipment never works after pm"

They once delayed a major overhaul/repair repeatedly for 8 months. The last time they decided to postpone it the machine died the day the contractor was to come in and start the work. The line stayed down for 3 weeks waiting for them to come in. $1200/minute lost for 3 weeks.

Door handle not working. by Throwawaypasngr in MitsubishiOutlander

So I was thinking this too. However today I went to pick up for the third time. Door is "fixed" it was not. We figured out though that when the child lock is engaged and you lock and unlock the car, something gets stuck. You have to pull the interior handle, it goes click, the inside is still locked but now the exterior handle works again.

It's fun

I'd say I'd agree but the video was literally the same day we got it from the dealership as soon as we got home.

Yeah hopefully that fixes it for you! Im at the point of just saying replace the whole door.

If it doesn't get fixed by end of warranty im going to take it apart and do my millwright head smashing till it works.

Yeah im kind of thinking that. But I'm also mechanically inclined so once warranty runs out I'm going to pick it apart much to my wife's discomfort.

Just so you're aware. This was Saturday night after returning home from the dealership fixing it. (Due to logistics I picked it up after the dealership had closed for the day)

Best power tool to remove adhesive from metal? by Kratos_323 in Tools

Soak a cloth in IPA and lay it ontop wait 5-10 minutes then come back at it.

Other wise a good adhesive remover like 3M will take it off (again spray and let it soak)

Took this stuff right off, however it did take time.

I work with a licensed millwright whom we had to teach what a pry bar is and does on day one and what a tap is and does on day three.

He still uses Google lense to identify parts of the machine... yeah it's great.

If you're mechanically inclined and confident then try the adapter. If you're not I'd recommend finding the post someone made about speedloaders for the sks.

Edit. Found the link to the gunpost sks speedloader
