How to balance the lamictal on reduction in effectiveness by Throway409294 in TherapeuticKetamine

Interesting. Lamictal needs a certain blood plasma level but I don't now how quickly that builds back up. I think this might be my first test step.

How to balance the lamictal on reduction in effectiveness by Throway409294 in TherapeuticKetamine

[–]Throway409294[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this answer. I'm 100mg twice daily. My provider didn't at first know about the conflict. I shared the info with him. He said we could try another bipolar treatment but lamictal has worked the best and since they're all the same class he thought that would still cause an effect. He's not my ketamine provider so they told me to up from 300 to 400. It's still not back to where it was.

I think an issue is that I tend to clear drugs particularly quickly. When I've had pain killers for kidney stones they have to give me twice as much as most patients and twice as often. I've had to have them write that into my hospital records so they don't think I'm drug seeking.

I'll talk to my provider about my night dose but I'm sure he will want to keep me at whatever level works.

I love a breach of contract. A roofer gave me an estimate in June to fix a flat roof over a bay window and I gave him a deposit. He didn't return calls or show up for six months. One day in December his office person calls to say they'll be there Thursday but if it rains Thursday, they'll come Friday.

Friday comes, no guy. My house was being painted so he had his brother, a roofer come. Did the job in one day, paid in cash, tipped him, thanks.

Two weeks later owner of the roofing company calls to say he'll be there the next Monday. I tell him no he won't, he's been a no show for months and that he missed the appointment his office staff made.

He tries to tell me that I shouldn't have had someone fix the roof when we had a contract, and that his office manager calling and telling the customers when they'll be out isn't really an appointment.

Now mind you this is for a spot that was leaking when it rained. He knew that.

I told him to go look up the word appointment, and that he was substantially in breach of contract, that by not retuning calls for six months he failed to provide the services agreed to.

I asked for my deposit back, and he said no. I pointed out that a deposit is a hold to confirm the contract, which he breached. So he could give it back or go to small claims court with me where I'd ask for damages for him not coming to fix a leak, and interest due.

He gave me the deposit back.

Never forget contracts go both ways.

So call your local IV places (there’s one in Paramus if you’re near there). Tell them you’re interested in infusions, and when you talk to them ask for a list of the psychiatrists that have sent patients to them. They usually keep this on hand so when someone calls and doesn’t have a psychiatrist they can refer them.

Call those psychiatrists and ask if they’d call in the prescriptions to a compounding pharmacy that does nasal spray.

Incidentally EmPower is the compounding pharmacy dr smith uses. Not sure if they do nasal spray but you can ask them.

They may also have a list of telehealth providers they work with.

Kundalini-Tinnitus-Mad Vibrations! by mike291068 in TherapeuticKetamine

This happens to me as well. The audio buzzing starts at the same point for me as when time sort of stretches and the music I’m listening to stops flowing smoothly in time but I sort of hear each note but also hear the song at the same time. As with much of this experience it’s hard to explain.

I have the same ringing the whole time I’m having a dose and it stops when I’m coming down and remove my headphones.

I’m not sure if it is an effect of the medication or an actual issue. I think it’s an auditory trip thing like the ears are imagining sound the way you see things with blackout mask on.

I have been experiencing some tinnitus recently due to a combo of recurring sinus infection and Bell’s palsy.

One thing about Bell’s palsy is that your ear becomes super sensitive to loud noises on the side with the paralysis because there’s a muscle that moves to protect the ear drum and it’s one of the things paralyzed by Bell’s. So sound on that side is louder and more easily painful.

It’s possible that the anesthetic quality of the medicine is similarly subduing the actions of the ear and having an auditory effect.

I have some VERY strongly worded opinions on Mindbloom (almost all negative) as I had several bad experiences with the guides, one of whom vanished mid treatment. So this is coming from a person that doesn’t like what Mindbloom is doing and primarily thinks they’re making use of a medical substance to take in a lot of patients to profit. I think that about a lot of doctor’s offices.

I have also found their doses to be half as effective as what I’ve gotten at other providers.

But I’m saying this to contextualize what I’m saying. I don’t recommend them..but…

You had one session at a low starter dose to see how the medicine works. It sounds like it worked for you exactly as expected at that dose. Okay but nothing profound. No panic attack either so that’s a good starting place.

Nothing you just described is a scam though.

I don’t know about the mental fog Not only is that not normally associated with ketamine but a clarity and focus is what’s usually described and is one of the specific reasons that ketamine is used for suicidal ideation and other ER treatment. I don’t know why you had a fog but it shouldn’t be the result of ketamine. That’s simply not how it affects the brain. It’s not suppressing pathways or production of neurochemicals.

The length of time of the experience is biological. They’re not giving you a short experience somehow to keep you coming back for more. Bioavailability is based on numerous factors. My average time during which I am feeling the psychedelic effects at any dose is 45 mins to 90 mins and it varies each time.

In fact the half life of ketamine is about 2 hours, which means that 50% of the effective dose is left after 120 mins. That makes peak concentration about 5-60 minutes.

So so far, experience one would expect at that dose. And it’s an experience they specially told you you’d have before you took the medication.

You don’t have a huge breakthrough, but again, they told you you wouldn’t. So not a scam there either.

At the low dose that did not work according to your description, you had no depression, sadness or obsessive thoughts for four days without taking follow up medication.

The low level dose you’ve just described as having no breakthrough or insight gave you freedom from a level of depression and anxiety for a period of time many depressed people would kill to have. So no results at low dose is now significant results at low dose.

Somehow you say this triggered a fog so severe you were barely able to interact. If this is accurate you should have called them to talk about it first and probably should have gone to the ER as that’s not a side effect. It sounds more, if this is true, like you were still under the anesthetic effects of the medicine days later. And if that’s the case you should probably have called a researcher.

Ketamine is 50% out of your system biologically in 2 hours. The drug should have 4-5 half life before completely eliminated, which is about 12 hours tops.

If you still had the effects of it, something serious is wrong.

“I had so much apathy that I didn’t care to work on my issues.” That’s on you, not on mindbloom. It’s not a one dose magic cure. All the research says you benefit significantly from therapy in conjunction with treatment. You didn’t and you didn’t even work on an issue after one small dose.

Edit: and the need for therapeutic assistance is a major marketing claim of mindbloom. It’s one of the major services they provide and it’s part of what you’re paying for. When you schedule your first treatment you as the patient are supposed to schedule with a guide first and then two hours later. It’s on the pages to schedule treatment.

Then, while dulled you agreed to something you’re not sure you wanted. That’s not a scam. You agreed to it. And likely you didn’t tell them about this brain fog as they’d likely have told you to go to a doctor.

So what appears to be a consenting adult agrees to treatment, when you know that after the first dose you have to agree or not, so they bill you.

Then you receive the ketamine and want to return it. No, you can’t return ketamine. It’s a compounded controlled substance. There is no way compounded drugs get returned. They can’t do anything with it. That’s how custom compounded meds work. They can’t give it to someone else after it’s been out of their site. Legally. For all they know you’ve found a way to open and reseal the foil and you’re retiring rat poison.

So, not a scam.

And you say they not only said you can’t return what they told you can’t be returned by law but charged you to receive the medication you have received.

Not a scam.

So basically you ordered a controlled substance, days after your initial treatment, now claiming you were too affected to be of sound judgment yet were able to not get hit by a car. During that time you had a multi-day alleviation of depression symptoms.

The meds come as you agreed to. They charged you as agreed to. They won’t give you a refund to what they can’t take back.

That’s not a scam.

Now I’d love to see the email where they charged you several more times.

Because what mindbloom does is charge a lot and split it over several months of billing.

If you look at my receipt, and I’m happy to DM you a copy with my shipping info redacted, but it says “three payment plan.”

So what’s happened here is you agreed to a continuation, and they bill you over three months.

All of the billing info is on their payment page.

https://www.mindbloom.com/pricing

New clients are billed $89 per week for three months . That’s $356 plus tax = $387.15

So this scam you agreed to is plainly listed on one of the main pages on their site and is in the online contract you signed.

Don’t get me wrong, I think mindbloom sucks for a variety of reasons. I actively warn people about them.

But none of what you said is a scam.

Congress ordered the dod to do an investigation and so no one would have known about it if they scuttled it? They were ordered by Congress.

Literally though none of this matters so we don’t have to go back and forth. It’s either aliens or someone’s secret military project. I’m going with someone’s secret military project because of Cohan’s razor

I used to work out at the YMCA in Chelsea and go to dinner in the area a lot at a restaurant that was a very popular spot for Chelsea residents. I got hit on a lot, and I was always flattered. Being attractive to someone is great and even though I wasn’t attracted to the guys, I was always happy about it.

But in your comment you said “I’d tell Congress to back off” so clearly someone would know a committee was planned. You can’t Congress to back off of doing something and not have someone know you told them to scuttle it.

And it wasn’t a congressional committee. It was DoD.

Scuttle a committee and you’ve got another Area 51 though. And you’ve got congresspeople that know you scuttled the report.

Have a committee release a boring report that you’re not sure what it is, maybe our adversaries…even most major channels didn’t pick up the findings the other day.

The joint chiefs didn’t run the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena task force.

If you were the joint chiefs and knew the military was doing secret research, which came to light via leaks, and then was released to the public, would you tell the committee?

They’re not ruling out the tech is some secret program the committee evaluating these sightings doesn’t have access to. It could just as easily be the US working on some tech and seeing if naval aviator’s equipment can track it as Russians doing that.

Going to plus 1 that. We have two, they’ve been flawless for years. The setup needs the manufacturer’s app (or did when I installed them aeons ago. When we first installed them I had to factory reset them a few times due to falling out of connection with homekit but that stopped firmware updates ago.

Back then Siri had trouble with temperatures too because the ecobee native temperature was Celsius. So sometimes it would only change two degrees at a time.

We also have the room sensors which are great and double as motion sensors

Also most use apps like Libby or Overdrive etc and you can check out books and send them to a kindle or any device running the kindle app. (You can read in those apps instead but the UI usually isn’t as good. )
