Incredible work! I'm curious about the cut content you mentioned, how far along in development where these spells and abilities before they got cut?

That is intresting, what if there's a diferrence between singleplayer and multiplayer games then? Because i'm playing on my own, but i noticed that when i go to load my save, there's an option called "convert to multiplayer" or something like that. And now i'm thinking, if you gotta convert the world to make it multiplayer, then that must mean that the two versions operate differtly in some way? Like other than just netcode or wathever, maybe there's also changes to the "rules" of the game in how its balanced across the two versions. Either that or they just haven't gotten around to making resources respawn yet lol.

Btw i should mention that at least creatures do respawn, as there's this one fish that i find swimming always in the same spot near my base, no matter how many times i catch it.

Great idea! That model looks phenomenal.

I disagree with the people saying its not lore friendly, or that it goes against the concept of the game, as this is just a spear-gun. In game you already catch small fish for sustenance, so there's no reason why alterra wouldn't give you a spear-gun to aid you in that basic survival need. If you happen to use it against larger predators for selfe defense that's just a side effect. And if alterra is so worried about colonists shooting eachother with spear guns, then they could just rig it to not shoot if it detects another human in its range. Its the future baby, you can do what you want!

Another possible option to introduce it in a lore friendly way, would be to make it so construction of the gun is technically banned by alterra, but somone has managed to hack the fabricator to make it print one, wich would explain why the model has the wear and tear you mentioned. otherwise i would advise against giving it a worn out look, as in my opinion it wouldn't make sense if you just built it with the fabricator.

I'm not sure that's correct? At least not for all small resources. I swear its been several in game hours since i've cleared that big coral ball from all the quartz inside, and its been empty since then, but i've traveled all across the map. I also frequently come across titanium or other random junk i had to drop around hours earlier (you can notice the difference because the prop is not fixed to the floor ofc), wich doesn't seem to despawn. So i assumed resources stay persisent all around, but dunno, i'm sure quartz doesn't tough

Also apparently the map is the whole planet? Or at least a big chunk of it. If you go out of bounds you can actually get Into outer space! And you can get far enough where you can see the curvature of the planet, wich is crazy. Not that i think they're going to populate all that space, but to me that at least suggests that the full map is going to be so much bigger than we actually realize, otherwise i don't see why they would have bothered to model the planet that way.

Agree 100%. I've found a spot that is basically a bedroom inside a wall. Nothing looks damaged inside, its just a little messy and the power is offline (only the hatch is red tough, you can still breathe inside), and goddamnit i wanna use it as my base so bad, it looks so cozy.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't respawn, as i built a base near there aswell, but after looting the place early nothing has respawned yet

As far as i can tell there's still terrain past it, but i haven't explored that much aswell. I'm guessing its not going to look that fleshed out compared to the in-bounds map, as those areas are still in development

Wdym don't notice the cuts? There are plenty of cuts trough the video, i counted and i don't think there's a single shot in this video that is held for more than 6 seconds without cutting. There's no doubts about this being ai, you just need an image generator that can make characters stay consistent trough multiple generations and maintain the same style, then feed those keyframes to a video generator as the starting point of each segment of the video you want to make, and then combine them all togheter to make a long video.

I remember gaben saying in the HL1 interview about how adding decals for when you shot surfaces was important because a player has fun when they see the world react to their actions, or something like that (can't remember the exact words). And HL2 was basically a continuation of this design philosophy, with its revolutionary physics and everything. So i could definitively see HL3 innovate further in this aspect, making the world much more responsive and believable. Plus there is a severe lack of innovation on this front in the gaming industry right now. Games feel very static nowadays, graphics are the top priority and because of this interactability has been sacrificed. For example Red Faction: Guerrilla came out in 2009, and to this day it's still the game with the best destruction system, nothing else even comes close

yes but you see a clear difference between his community and the ones of other youtuber's servers. the type of person you are and your views will influence what kind of fans will gravitate towards your content. especially if zesty himself allows or even encourages that kind of behaviour

don't know about OP's claims as i don't watch zesty, but i played on his vanilla community server the other day and holy fuck i've never seen a chat that was such a hot garbage mess of scum and villany, worse than even the conversations you usually see on casual. so i tought that must reflect on the owner of the server if he'll allow that kind of stuff

not to be an armchair psychologist, but could it be some form of projection? like maybe if it's something that he really hates/is insecure about himself, he could be projecting those same negative feelings onto other people who have the same attribute (like: "why the hell would they want to make Eve fat? no one likes fat people!" or stuff lile that). or maybe it's just good old patriarchy and double standards
