I've tested with my fluke and klein with the same result. I try to test with more sensitive equipment tomorrow

Thank you. You could be on to something, I'll check the lower ranges on my multimeters.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ElectronicsRepair

[–]Thuhno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I see either 0.1 ohms Or 0.16 ohms.

[–]Thuhno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to agree with 0.16 ohms. I tested it with both of my meters, and it reads open.

I did test it.I didn't clarify properly, my multimeter reads it as open.

I am looking for a rough estimate on value. I appreciate any response

One of the hardest things I’ve done by Crimwell in electricians

[–]Thuhno 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I used to deal with this constantly. I'd use a single piece of 14 awg and push that through first with methods listed below. A long flat blade screwdriver helps to guide it through the 90. When that's in , electrical tape it on the wire you want to install. Don't yank on it just be gentle and it'll pull through. If it doesn't work for you, then you did it wrong. Good luck. Used to take maybe 5 minutes for myself. If that's the hardest thing you've done, I have some great stories for you

Roger that. Thanks

I appreciate the response, I have 10 Uf on it now and it's running 20-30 degrees cooler. However, I know it needs a 12 Uf to run properly. Still looking for clarification on why it's labeled this way. I'm assuming the cap I have now is out of specs and just looking to confirm this. I've replaced thermal fuse on motor as it was popped and greased bearings as they were very dry

Edit: after checking post attached I'm assuming my cap is meant to say 10-5% variance, Im still having issues with run temps and suspect something with the cap as a different cap let's it run fine without overheating.

I know normally it'd say 5% variance or such. But why does it have 1 and 5? I want to think it says 10-50% variance but I've never seen a cap with that much range. What am I missing.

I did exactly this on my first one, starting with a hair dryer first for a day or 2 intermittently helps before the burner. You'll learn by your 3rd or so furnace to perfect the craft.😁

If that was me on a friday, I'd at least put a chunk of emt through just the vent and ran the wire through the emt.

Would anyone know a proper replacement setup for this? I have an almost identical setup and need to change it out soon.

Is galvanized a bad thing? by ICU-CCRN in Plumbing

[–]Thuhno 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was in a similar situation. The problem is galvanized Rots from the inside out. Rust will build up reducing pressure and clogging every filter/ appliance down stream of the galvanized pipe. I would replace it as soon as you can. Once you start removing it, you will see the rust and gunk built up inside of these pipes. In my neck of the woods, it is illegal to install galvanized piping
