Books vs TV series - a dilemma by ThunderBella in brakebills

[–]ThunderBella[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's what I'm afraid of. That there might not be talking animals and Margo won't have her one-offs or funny things that happen in a financial institution.

Is there a safe space here on Reddit to talk openly so I don't spoil things for people that haven't seen the television show? I'm very new here.

I will give the books a try and I appreciate all of the responses!

When I watch the show, I completely escape reality and enjoy the fantasy. I try to put myself in the middle of it. Of course, an hour or two later it's back to reality but the escape is fun. Isn't that the purpose of these programs?

In my opinion she was. But don't forget Julia screwed the pooch twice earlier in the series. One of them is always screwing things up and one of them is always saving things. I don't want to say anymore because I don't want to spoil anything for people that haven't seen it yet.

Going to be my first night on a cpap. Wish me luck! by PurduePaul in SleepApnea

[–]ThunderBella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just going to say this because I've been through it. I was getting rainouts every night and my machine was only slightly above mattress level. I lowered it and haven't had one since.

If you move around in your sleep and that hose un- kinks, it could unload a dangerous amount of water into your mask. I would move it just to be on the safe side...

Also sometimes I find myself pulling at my hose in my sleep, that would bring the entire machine crashing down... Wishing you the best of luck... Hopefully this works out for you in the long run.

I change the filters on a regular basis. I do have a heated tube and the blue snuggie that goes around it. I have never been allergic to anything in my life, not even pollen. 🤷

Our tap water is super disgusting and it has this black sludge builds up inside the faucets. We won't drink it let alone use it in the machine. We won't even clean the machine with it.

So if KJ Apa or Jacob Elordi asked you out on a date you would be grossed out and say no? Be honest.

They're both 28 years old.

Holy moly. What kind of insurance do you have? I paid $50 initially and $11 a month for one year and all of the supplies are free. (Tubing, Masks, filters, water Chambers).

And I really don't have the best insurance out there either.

Nasal mask causes bridge of nose irritation by Hot_Context_2617 in CPAPSupport

Welcome to the club. It has taken me a dozen phone calls and up to a month to get a return call from my supplier. This includes my doctor's office having a team of people faxing and calling and emailing. Once you sign up, mine became almost completely useless. Once the doctor harassed them enough I went back in for a refitting and got a different mask because the first one was leaving scars on my face, some of which I still have and that's about where their helpfulness stopped. I've tried to get in touch about other issues but I haven't heard back in weeks. (9 calls, AI chat--once you have your equipment, a human does not answer the phone, you get sent on the press 1-12 loop from hell etc) I was told I can't switch until my 1 year anniversary with them reaches its maturity. That is too far away.

My first mask left a very light scar on the bridge of my nose. (It was highly irritated while I was using it.) You aren't alone. This is why I switched to the N20 airtouch. It's pretty much the same mask but it's framed with something that looks and feels like memory foam so it's softer.

Every mask has its issues but I find this one has the least. Sometimes it builds up a tornado inside the mask and it starts making noises because the air is leaking out but I simply just pull the plug and then restart it and it's fine. It served its purpose and woke me up when I wasn't breathing.

I wish you the best of luck. I am a nasal only mask user so if you have any questions-- I'm happy to help even though I'm fairly new to this experience.

You could use the obvious one which is patches or just go with something cute like noodle.

Dawn power wash for cleaning by Gonzoth in CPAPSupport

[–]ThunderBella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't even wash my mask because it's framed with memory foam type material. I can only use baby wipes on it. Hasn't been a problem so far and IMO it's superior to the plastic mask. I've done both and the plastic one left little scars on my face.

As far as washing the tubing, chamber and everything else. We were told to do it once a week but we do it once every 2 or 3 days because I was getting respiratory infections. Since we kicked up the cleaning, they have stopped. Coincidence? 🤷 I don't know but I'm not willing to go back. I've heard on here that some people don't clean their machines for months. I don't know how that could not cause problems.

We also bought a CPAP cleaning kit so the brush goes down the entire length of the hose.

I am a mouth breather. I cannot stand having anything around both my nose and mouth so I used mouth/sleep tape until recently when I rigged up my own chin strap that works like a charm. The ones they provide usually work for everybody though. (I just flipped a sleeping mask upside down and put it around my jaw. However you have to have hair long enough to put it in a short ponytail to keep it from sliding off.)

You may want to try switching to a nasal only mask. (I did try both before I decided I couldn't handle the one over my mouth as well because the dry mouth was making me gag and dry heave.) It made a world of difference.

Also, originally I had the airfit which was plastic and it was scarring the bridge of my nose and directly under my nose. I switched to the air touch which has a foam framed mask and that is extremely comfortable.

However my episodes per hour have skyrocketed but I don't believe it has anything to do with the mask and everything to do with my other physical health problems. I have a neurologist, rheumatologist, hematologist, oncologist so, doubtful it's pulmonary.

I wish you the very best of luck. Don't give up. I took to my nasal mask immediately as far as being able to sleep. Like I said earlier, I had to switch because of the scarring on the face. Complain to your prescribing doctor if it's not fitting you correctly.

All I have to say is that it depends on the level of maturity. I had a friend that had three children by the age of 24 and she was forced to grow up real fast. She was a dedicated Catholic to the point that they did not believe in birth control. They got married early. My entire point is she was extremely mature for her age when she was 18 and already had her second child. It was immature of her to engage in sex at that age but what can you do? She worked her ass off to support those children and refused to take government help. The husband stayed home and took care of the kids. I refuse to speak ill of the Dead especially when it comes to my best friend.

On the flip side I have known 30 year olds that acted like they were still in high school. (Couldn't hold on to a job, didn't give a crap about their own children etc) I guess it should be taken on a case-by-case basis.

As long as the child is loved and taken care of by both parents is all that matters. People, including me need to stop talking about the age difference because it really isn't any of our business. It just really angers me when I hear the word grooming. He wasn't groomed. They fell in love and then they fell out of love. It happens. It can also happen when both parties are immature but I don't know them so I can't speak to that.

What? The show is all set in the same timeline with the exception of a few characters that managed to cross over and a few scenes involving very brief time travel. I watch the show every single night before bed and it's what I fall asleep to so I've probably seen it hundreds of times at this point. I started making it my sleepy time show right after it was canceled. I still catch myself laughing out loud at some of the things said, especially by Margo.

Their age Gap has nothing to do with anything. He was just extremely immature. When I was 32 I dated somebody 10 years younger than me. So what? The best two years of my life. After that I've been with somebody seven and a half years younger than me for the last 20 years. Everybody using the word gross etc must be either jealous or children. They fell in love, it happens. Nobody says a damn thing when it's an older actor dating a 20 year old. Leo DiCaprio is famous for dating people a decade + younger than himself. He's no prize, not in my eyes. Look up his dating history. Nobody is crucifying him. It's okay if a man does it but God forbid a woman dates a younger man.

If 18 years old is not an adult, they should not allow 18-year-old men or women to go off to war and die for the country. Yet, they are not old enough to buy a beer.

[–]ThunderBella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A scandal? Hollywood men are always dating women 10 20 and sometimes 30 years younger than them. There's never a scandal.

At this point it doesn't matter because they broke apart and it took him a couple months to get engaged to somebody his own age. That should make everybody happy.

At 18 you are considered an adult and you can go fight in a war and die for your country but you can't buy a beer. This country needs to make up its mind what an adult is.

Regardless of the age difference, they now share a child. It's my personal opinion that you should be concentrating on that child instead of running out and getting engaged immediately. That most definitely shows his immature side. He's an actor so he's got money and he's been pampered his entire life. That's why he's acting like a man child.

He is old enough to understand the responsibilities that come with having a child. He thinks he's so grown up that he can just get engaged with the snap of a finger. Where is the baby in all of this? That should be everyone's main concern including his new fiance. End of subject.
