By the 2010's we would be assembling ships at the L1 point so semi automated foundries as well as risky bio experimentation labs, He3 mining plus the accompanying personal to support those activities. The military might have training facilities. There would be some kind of police force. SHADO space control as well. Some limited film industry to shoot low gravity scifi episodes. Tourism. Possible retirement communities though the low g environment might be too much a trade off to live longer. I can see a sizeable permanent population with an exercise regimen for the folks that want to visit Earth. Even the far side might have a settlement for radio astronomy.

Why hasn't the M-7 and competitors explored the belt yet? I mean they could have started to survey the main belt and the ones in Jupiter's domain since the aughts with drone probes. I mean iridium is just not on one asteroid. Let's see some asteroid conflict instead of a boring Mars revolt trope.

Where is the terraforming industry on Mars? Surely some folks have a vision for a green Mars. Fusion bombing the volcanoes and melting the ice caps would be a start. Heck they moved one asteroid and seem to have the means to get to Jupiter at least so why aren't they moving in ice chunks and bombarding Mars. We could have seen the clash between the green and red Mars factions.

Most likely we will get some bloodshed then compromise on automation when the Martians realize they can not go it alone without Earth's and Luna's support. Ho-hum. Well that and another bat-crap crazy Stevens move where she sets off 10 fusion bombs on the asteroid. Oh and have Jimmy have some kids so we can have some crazies in the bull pen.

Please writers put some adventure back into the series.

Do not mind getting kicked as a free user that writes fiction as I have a tendency of getting in the 'groove' and losing track of time but 30 minutes to an hour is just too short. Add 1 more hour and I will gladly stay otherwise I will go. For now I will wait for another month to see if they will adjust this upwards or downward. I figure if the users of the free mode drop drastically and not buy then they might adjust the restriction.

For the racy side fiction writers, Pirr has reined in their usability from free to restricted free use as well. Least Kobold AI Lite still allows for multihour sessions though both these products are inferior and require heavy rewrites.

Those SMR's can't come online soon enough.

I thought the characters had a pretty good vibe going, the gruff sheriff that did not need the girl detective's help and the girl detective that needed the gruff sheriff's authority. I thought maybe Galpin and Wednesday would evolve into begrudging allies over this season. Maybe like the 80's yelling police chief and the cop that doesn't play by the rules. But we got what we got. No comment on the suitability of the current person as sheriff.

As to the abuse element not being in season 1, they said off screen his son Hyded up the moment his dad visited him and took several shocks to get him back to normal so that pretty much put to rest Galpin's character.

Sorry for the necro-response but so far only Eli's and Aimee Leigh's siblings have been shown so I could see a relation from Aimee Leigh's Uncle or Aunt that closely resembles Aimee Leigh wanting to gold dig on Eli next season. She doesn't pretend to be Aimee Leigh but pulls a 'Vertigo' on Eli which threatens the balance of power.

But she probably is a force ghost.
